Causal structure of black holes immersed in a Chaplygin-like dark fluid environment: Horizons and singularities

In the present work, we study the causal structure of spherically symmetric black holes immersed in a Chaplygin-like dark fluid, emphasizing the impact of the fluid parameters on curvature and horizon formation. We show that the spacetime curvature is significantly stronger than in its similar counterpart, the Reissner-Nordstrom-de Sitter geometry with the same mass and charge, leading to modifications of the internal causal structure. For the presence of horizons the Chaplygin black hole possesses an upper bound $Q \approx 0.556219 M$, which is much smaller than that for Reissner-Nordstrom spacetime $Q_{\text{critical}} = M$ or of the Reissner-Nordstrom-de Sitter case $Q_{\text{critical}} = 3M/(2\sqrt{2})$, indicating that the black holes immersed in a Chaplygin-like dark fluid reach the extremal regime more easily. We derive a second critical condition for the Chaplygin cosmological parameter $B$, $B_c Q_c^4 = 4/3^9$, setting an upper bound on $B$ for a multi-horizon solution.

Lower dimensional black holes in nonlinear electrodynamics: causal structure and scalar perturbations

We study the charged black hole solutions of a 2+1 nonlinear electrodynamical theory with cosmological constant. Considered as a one-parameter group of theories (the exponent of the squared Maxwell tensor) the causal structure of all possible black holes is scrutinized. We analyze the singularity character that each theory delivers together with their horizons and the plausible limitations in the black hole charges. The investigation demonstrates a rich structure of three different groups of theories, according to the qualitative behavior of the singularity, horizons and limitations in the geometric charges. For such groups we study the effect of a scalar field propagating in the fixed black holes spacetime. All geometries analyzed were stable to such linear perturbations, these evolving as usual quasinormal spectra of the black holes that we calculate in different cases.

Quasinormal modes of charged BTZ black holes

We investigate the scalar field equation in a (2+1)-dimensional charged BTZ black hole. The quasinormal spectra of the solution are obtained applying two different methods and good convergence between both is achieved. Using the characteristic integration technique we tested the geometry evidencing its stability against linear scalar perturbations. As a consequence a two pattern set of frequencies (families) emerges, one oscillatory and another purely imaginary. In that spectra, the fundamental modes without angular momentum are hugely affected by the presence of the black hole charge surprisedly even for small values of this. Their evolution are controlled by purely imaginary frequencies as in the non-rotating chargeless BTZ case. Similar to others AdS black holes, the fundamental oscillations scale the black hole event horizon and the temperature of the hole (far from maximal charges).

Scalar field propagation in braneworld black hole scenario obtained from Nash theorem

We determine the scalar field evolution of a braneworld localized black hole with both dark matter and dark energy components, obtained within a dynamical and continuous embedding formalism by use of Nash's theorem. We further extract the associated quasinormal modes for both de Sitter-Schwarzschild-Dark matter and anti-de Sitter-Schwarzschild-Dark matter solutions, for the different causal structures (one, two or three horizon spacetimes) given by the space of parameters. By comparison with standard General Relativity solutions, we infer possible observable astrophysical differences, and remark on modifications to previous AdS/CFT correspondence scenarios.
