Separability of Solvable Subgroups in Linear Groups

Let G be a finitely generated linear group over a field of characteristic 0. Suppose that every solvable subgroup of G is polycyclic. Then the claim is made that any solvable subgroup of G is separable. This is proven for G=SL_n(Z). However, the proof of the main theorem in section 4 is incomplete.

A Quartic Surface of Integer Hexahedra

Using a quartic surface and its rational curves we can give an infinite number of integer hexahedra; these are 6 sided 3d solids, each face a trapezoid, with all sides and diagonals having intger lengths.

Solvable Groups of Exponential Growth and HNN Extensions

We prove the following version of Milnor's theorem on solvable groups of exponential growth: A finitely generated solvable group which is not polycyclic contains an ascending HNN extension. Consequently, a finitely generated solvable group is ERF iff it is polycyclic.

A Mathematical Theory of Origami Numbers and Constructions

We give a hierarchial set of axioms for mathematical origami. The hierachy gives the fields of Pythagorean numbers, first discussed by Hilbert, the field of Euclidean constructible numbers which are obtained by the usual constructions of straightedge and compass, and the Origami numbers, which is also the field generated from the intersections of conics or equivalently the marked ruler.
