On the associated variety of a highest weight Harish-Chandra module

We prove a simple formula that calculates the associated variety of a highest weight Harish-Chandra module directly from its highest weight. We also give a formula for the Gelfand--Kirillov dimension of highest weight Harish-Chandra module which is uniform across Cartan types and is valid for arbitrary infinitesimal character.

Dirac Index and associated cycles of Harish-Chandra modules

Let $G_{\mathbb{R}}$ be a simple real linear Lie group with maximal compact subgroup $K_{\mathbb{R}}$ and assume that ${\rm rank}(G_\mathbb{R})={\rm rank}(K_\mathbb{R})$. For any representation $X$ of Gelfand-Kirillov dimension $\frac{1}{2} {\rm dim}(G_{\mathbb{R}}/K_{\mathbb{R}})$, we consider the polynomial on the dual of a compact Cartan subalgebra given by the dimension of the Dirac index of members of the coherent family containing $X$. Under a technical condition involving the Springer correspondence, we establish an explicit relationship between this polynomial and the multiplicities of the irreducible components occurring in the associated cycle of $X$. This relationship was conjectured in \cite{MehdiPandzicVogan15}.

Computing the associatied cycles of certain Harish-Chandra modules

Let $G_{\mathbb{R}}$ be a simple real linear Lie group with maximal compact subgroup $K_{\mathbb{R}}$ and assume that ${\rm rank}(G_\mathbb{R})={\rm rank}(K_\mathbb{R})$. In \cite{MPVZ} we proved that for any representation $X$ of Gelfand-Kirillov dimension $\frac{1}{2}\dim(G_{\mathbb{R}}/K_{\mathbb{R}})$, the polynomial on the dual of a compact Cartan subalgebra given by the dimension of the Dirac index of members of the coherent family containing $X$ is a linear combination, with integer coefficients, of the multiplicities of the irreducible components occurring in the associated cycle. In this paper we compute these coefficients explicitly.

Prehomogeneous vector spaces and ergodic theory II

We apply M. Ratner's theorem on closures of unipotent orbits to the study of three families of prehomogeneous vector spaces. As a result, we prove analogues of the Oppenheim Conjecture for simultaneous approximation by values of certain alternating bilinear forms in an even number of variables and certain alternating trilinear forms in six and seven variables.

On the automorphism groups of complex homogeneous spaces

If G is a (connected) complex Lie Group and Z is a generalized flag manifold for G, the the open orbits D of a (connected) real form G_0 of G form an interesting class of complex homogeneous spaces, which play an important role in the representation theory of G_0. We find that the group of automorphisms, i.e., the holomorphic diffeomorphisms, is a finite-dimensional Lie group, except for a small number of open orbits, where it is infinite dimensional. In the finite-dimensional case, we determine its structure. Our results have some consequences in representation theory.
