Robust Fixed-Time Model Reference Adaptive Control

This article proposes a Model Reference Adaptive Control (MRAC) strategy to achieve fixed-time convergence of parameter estimation and tracking errors for unknown linear time-invariant systems, without relying on the persistence of excitation condition. Instead, it employs a less restrictive initial/interval excitation condition on the regressor matrix, enhancing practicality and ease of implementation in real-world scenarios. Our primary contribution is a novel parameter update law within the indirect MRAC framework, ensuring that parameter estimates converge within a fixed time, once the initial/interval excitation condition is met. This approach simplifies the practical requirements for adaptive control while guaranteeing robust performance against parameter uncertainty and external disturbances. Simulation results provide a comparison with the current literature to validate the effectiveness of this approach.

On annular short-time stability conditions for generalized Persidskii systems

This paper studies the trajectory behavior evaluation for generalized Persidskii systems with an essentially bounded input on a finite time interval. Also, the notions of annular settling and output annular settling for general nonlinear systems are introduced. We propose conditions for annular short-time stability, short-time boundedness with a nonzero initial state, annular settling, and output annular settling for a class of Persidskii systems. These conditions are based on the verification of linear matrix inequalities. An application to recurrent neural networks illustrates the usefulness of the proposed notions and conditions.

Stabilization for a perturbed chain of integrators in prescribed time

In this paper, we consider issues relative to prescribed time stabilisation of a chain of integrators of arbitrary length, either pure (i.e., where there is no disturbance) or perturbed. In a first part, we revisit the proportional navigation feedback (PNF) approach and we show that it can be appropriately recasted within the framework of time-varying homogeneity. As a first consequence, we first recover all previously obtained results on PNF with simpler arguments. We then apply sliding mode inspired feedbacks to achieve prescribed stabilisation with uniformly bounded gains. However, all these feedbacks are robust to matched uncertainties only. In a second part, we provide a feedback law yet inspired by sliding mode which not only stabilises the pure chain of integrators in prescribed time but also exhibits some robustness in the presence of measurement noise and unmatched uncertainties.

Solvable quadratic Lie algebras of dimensions $\leq 8$

In this paper, we classify solvable Lie algebras of dimensions $\leq 8$ endowed with a nondegenerate invariant symmetric bilinear form over an algebraically closed field. This classification (up to isometrically isomorphisms) is mainly based on the double extension method.

Singular quadratic Lie superalgebras

In this paper, we give a generalization of results in \cite{PU07} and \cite{DPU10} by applying the tools of graded Lie algebras to quadratic Lie superalgebras. In this way, we obtain a numerical invariant of quadratic Lie superalgebras and a classification of singular quadratic Lie superalgebras, i.e. those with a nonzero invariant. Finally, we study a class of quadratic Lie superalgebras obtained by the method of generalized double extensions.

Jordanian double extensions of a quadratic vector space and symmetric Novikov algebras

First, we study pseudo-Euclidean Jordan algebras obtained as double extensions of a quadratic vector space by a one-dimensional algebra. We give an isomorphic characterization of 2-step nilpotent pseudo-Euclidean Jordan algebras. Next, we find a Jordan-admissible condition for a Novikov algebra $\N$. Finally, we focus on the case of a symmetric Novikov algebra and study it up to dimension 7.

A new invariant of quadratic Lie algebras

We define a new invariant of quadratic Lie algebras and give a complete study and classification of singular quadratic Lie algebras, i.e. those for which the invariant does not vanish. The classification is related to $\mathrm{O}(n)$-adjoint orbits in $\mathfrak{o}(n)$.

Hochschild Cohomology and Deformations of Clifford-Weyl Algebras

We give a complete study of the Clifford-Weyl algebra ${\mathcal C}(n,2k)$ from Bose-Fermi statistics, including Hochschild cohomology (with coefficients in itself). We show that ${\mathcal C}(n,2k)$ is rigid when $n$ is even or when $k \neq 1$. We find all non-trivial deformations of ${\mathcal C}(2n+1,2)$ and study their representations.

Supertrace and superquadratic Lie structure on the Weyl algebra, with applications to formal inverse Weyl transform

Using the Moyal *-product and orthosymplectic supersymmetry, we construct a natural non trivial supertrace and an associated non degenerate invariant supersymmetric bilinear form for the Lie superalgebra structure of the Weyl algebra. We decompose adjoint and twisted adjoint actions. We define a renormalized supertrace and a formal inverse Weyl transform in a deformation quantization framework and develop some examples.

Back to the Amitsur-Levitzki theorem: a super version for the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra osp(1, 2n)

We prove an Amitsur-Levitzki type theorem for the Lie superalgebras osp(1,2n) inspired by Kostant's cohomological interpretation of the classical theorem. We show that the Lie superalgebras gl(p,q) cannot satisfy an Amitsur-Levitzki type super identity if p, q are non zero and conjecture that neither can any other classical simple Lie superalgebra with the exception of osp(1,2n).

Lie algebras generated by extremal elements

We study Lie algebras generated by extremal elements (i.e., elements spanning inner ideals of L) over a field of characteristic distinct from 2. We prove that any Lie algebra generated by a finite number of extremal elements is finite dimensional. The minimal number of extremal generators for the Lie algebras of type An, Bn (n>2), Cn (n>1), Dn (n>3), En (n=6,7,8), F4 and G2 are shown to be n+1, n+1, 2n, n, 5, 5, and 4 in the respective cases. These results are related to group theoretic ones for the corresponding Chevalley groups.
