Testing SU(3) Flavor Symmetry in Semileptonic and Two-body Nonleptonic Decays of Hyperons

The semileptonic decays and two-body nonleptonic decays of light baryon octet ($T_8$) and decuplet ($T_{10}$) consisting of light $u,d,s$ quarks are studied with the SU(3) flavor symmetry in this work. We obtain the amplitude relations between different decay modes by the SU(3) irreducible representation approach, and then predict relevant branching ratios by present experimental data within $1 σ$ error. We find that the predictions for all branching ratios except $\mathcal{B}(Ξ\rightarrow Λ^0π)$ and $\mathcal{B}(Ξ^*\rightarrow Ξπ)$ are in good agreement with present experimental data, that implies the neglected $C_+$ terms or SU(3) breaking effects might contribute at the order of a few percent in $Ξ\rightarrow Λ^0π$ and $Ξ^*\rightarrow Ξπ$ weak decays. We predict that $\mathcal{B}(Ξ^{-}\rightarrow Σ^0μ^-\barν_μ)=(1.13\pm0.08)\times10^{-6}$, $\mathcal{B}(Ξ^{-}\rightarrowΛ^0μ^-\barν_μ)=(1.58\pm0.04)\times10^{-4}$, $\mathcal{B}(Ω^-\rightarrowΞ^0μ^-\barν_μ)=(3.7\pm1.8)\times10^{-3}$, $\mathcal{B}(Σ^-\rightarrow Σ^0e^-\barν_e)=(1.35\pm0.28)\times10^{-10}$, $\mathcal{B}(Ξ^-\rightarrow Ξ^0e^-\barν_e)=(4.2\pm2.4)\times10^{-10}$. We also study $T_{10}\to T_8 P_8$ weak, electromagnetic or strong decays. Some of these decay modes could be observed by the BESIII, LHCb and other experiments in the near future. Due to the very small life times of $Σ^0$, $Ξ^{*0,-}$, $Σ^{*0,-}$ and $Δ^{0,-}$, the branching ratios of these baryon weak decays are only at the order of $\mathcal{O}(10^{-20}-10^{-13}$), which are too small to be reached by current experiments. Furthermore, the longitudinal branching ratios of $T_{8A} \to T_{8B} \ell^- \barν_\ell~(\ell=μ,e)$ decays are also given.

Effect of scalar leptoquarks on the lepton flavor violation decays of B meson

Leptoquarks have been suggested to solve a variety of discrepancies between the expected and observed phenomenon. In this paper, we investigate the effect of scalar leptoquarks on the lepton flavor violating B meson rare decays which involve the quark level transition $\bar{b} \to \bar{s} \ell^-_i \ell^+_j(i \neq j)$. The leptoquark parameter space is constrained by using the recently measured upper limits on the $\mathcal{B}(B_s^0 \to \ell^-_i \ell^+_j)$ and $\mathcal{B}(B \to K^{(*)}\ell^-_i \ell^+_j)$. Using such constrained leptoquark parameter space, some relevant physical quantities are also predicted and we find that the constrained New Physics parameters in the leptoquark model have very obvious effects on the relevant physical quantities in this paper. With future measurements of observable in $B \to K^{(*)}\ell^-_i \ell^+_j$ decays at the LHCb, more and more differentiated from the other NP explanations could be tested.

Study of the isospin breaking decay $\mathbf{\boldsymbol{Y(2175)\rightarrowϕf_0(980)\rightarrowϕηπ^0}}$ at BESIII

Using measured branching fraction of the decay $J/ψ\rightarrowηY(2175))\rightarrowηϕf_0(980)\rightarrowηϕπ^+π^{-}$ from the BESIII experiment, we estimate branching fraction of $J/ψ\rightarrowηY(2175))\rightarrowηϕf_0(980)\rightarrowηϕηπ^{0}$ decay, which proceeds via the $f_0(980)$-$a_0^0(980)$ mixing and the $π^0$-$η$ mixing. The branching fraction is predicted to be about $O(10^{-6})$, which can be accessed with $10^{10}$ $J/ψ$ events collected at the BESIII. The decay is dominated by the contribution from $f_0(980)$-$a_0^0(980)$ mixing. We find that the interference between the amplitudes due to $f_0(980)$-$a_0^0(980)$ mixing and that due to $π^0$-$η$ mixing is destructive. The branching fraction can be decreased by about $10\%$ owing to the interference effect. We also study the $ηπ^0$ mass squared spectrum, and find that a narrow peak due to the $f_0(980)$-$a_0^0(980)$ mixing in the $ηπ^0$ mass squared spectrum should be observed. The observation of this decay in experiment will be helpful to determine the $f_0(980)$-$a_0^0(980)$ mixing intensity and get information about the structures of the light scalar mesons.

Probing the effects of new physics in $\bar{B}^* \to P \ell \barν_\ell$ decays

The significant divergence between the SM predictions and experimental measurements for the ratios, $R_{D^{(*)}}\equiv \mathcal{B}(\bar{B}\to D^{(*)}τ^- \barν_τ)/ \mathcal{B}(\bar{B}\to D^{(*)} \ell^{\prime-} \barν_{\ell^{\prime}})$ with $(\ell^{\prime}=e\,,μ)$, implies possible hint of new physics in the flavour sector. In this paper, motivated by the "$R_{D^{(*)}}$ puzzle" and abundant $B^*$ data samples at high-luminosity heavy-flavor experiments in the future, we try to probe possible effects of new physics in the semileptonic $\bar{B}^*_{u,d,s} \to P \ell^- \barν_\ell$ $(P=D\,,D_s\,,π\,,K)$ decays induced by $b \to (u,\,c)\ell^- \barν_{\ell}$ transitions in the model-independent vector and scalar scenarios. Using the spaces of NP parameters obtained by fitting to the data of $R_{D}$ and $R_{D^{*}}$, the NP effects on the observables including branching fraction, ratio $R_P^{\ast}$, lepton spin asymmetry and lepton forward-backward asymmetry are studied in detail. We find that the vector type couplings have large effects on the branching fraction and ratio $R_P^{\ast}$. Meanwhile, the scalar type couplings provide significant contributions to all of the observables. The future measurements of these observables in the $\bar{B}^* \to P \ell^- \barν_\ell$ decays at the LHCb and Belle-II could provide a way to crosscheck the various NP solutions to the "$R_{D^{(*)}}$ puzzle".

Probing the R-parity violating supersymmetric effects in $B_c\to J/ψ\ell^-\barν_{\ell},η_c\ell^-\barν_{\ell}$ and $Λ_b\toΛ_c\ell^-\barν_{\ell}$ decays

Motivated by recent $R_D$, $R_{D^*}$ and $R_{J/ψ}$ anomalies in $B\to D\ell^- \barν_{\ell}$, $B\to D^*\ell^- \barν_{\ell}$ and $B_c\to J/ψ\ell^- \barν_{\ell}$ decays, respectively, we study possible R-parity violating supersymmetric effects in $B_c\to J/ψ\ell^- \barν_{\ell},η_c\ell^- \barν_{\ell}$ and $Λ_b \to Λ_c \ell^- \barν_{\ell}$ decays, which are also induced by $b\to c \ell^- \barν_{\ell}$ at quark level. We find that (I) the constrained slepton exchange couplings $λ_{i33}\tildeλ'^*_{i23}$ involving in $b\to c τ^- \barν_τ$ transition from relevant latest experimental data still have quite large effects on all (differential) branching ratios and the normalized forward-backward asymmetries of the exclusive semileptonic $b\to c τ^- \barν_τ$ decays as well as the ratios of the (differential) branching ratios; (II) after satisfying the data of $R_D$ and $R_{D^*}$, the upper limit of $R_{J/ψ}$, $R_{η_c}$ and $R_{Λ_c}$ could be increased by 10%, 112% and 24%, respectively, from their upper limits of the Standard Model predictions by the $λ_{i33}\tildeλ'^*_{i23}$ couplings. The results in this work could be used to probe R-parity violating effects and will correlate with searches for direct supersymmetric signals at the running LHCb and the forthcoming Belle-II.

Probing the R-parity violating supersymmetric effects in the exclusive b\to c\ell^-\barν_\ell decays

Motivated by recent results from the LHCb, BABAR and Belle collaborations on B\to D^{(*)}\ell^-\barν_\ell decays, which significantly deviate from the Standard Model and hint the possible new physics beyond the Standard Model, we probe the R-parity violating supersymmetric effects in B^-_c\to \ell^-\barν_\ell and B\to D^{(*)}\ell^-\barν_\ell decays. We find that (i) \mathcal{B}(B^-_c\to e^- \barν_e) and \mathcal{B}(B^-_c\toμ^-\barν_μ) are sensitive to the constrained slepton exchange couplings; (ii) the normalized forward-backward asymmetries of B\to De^-\barν_{e} decays have been greatly affected by the constrained slepton exchange couplings, and their signs could be changed; (iii) all relevant observables in the exclusive b\to cτ^-\barν_τdecays and the ratios \mathcal{R}(D^{(*)}) are sensitive to the slepton exchange coupling, \mathcal{R}(D^*) could be enhanced by the constrained slepton exchange coupling to reach each 95\% confidence level experimental range from BABAR, Belle and LHCb, but it could not reach the lower limit of the 95\% confidence level experimental average. Our results in this work could be used to probe R-parity violating effects, and will correlate with searches for direct supersymmetric signals at the running LHCb and the forthcoming Belle-II.

The $B\to D^{(*)} lν_l$ decays in the pQCD approach with the Lattice QCD input

In this paper, we studied the semileptonic decays $B \to D^{(*)} l^- \barν_l$ by using the "pQCD+Lattice QCD" method. We made the extrapolation for the six relevant form factors by using the input values obtained from the pQCD factorization approach in the low $q^2$ region of $0\leq q^2 \leq m_τ^2$, and the Lattice QCD input at the end-point $q^2=q^2_{\rm max}$. We then calculated the ratios $R(D)$ and $R(D^*)$ of the branching ratios ${\cal B}(B \to D^{(*)} l^- \barν_l)$, and found numerically that (1) the "pQCD+Lattice QCD" predictions for the branching ratios ${\cal B}(B \to D^{(*)} l^-\barν_l)$ agree well with the measured values within one standard deviation, and (2) the "pQCD+Lattice QCD" predictions for the ratios $R(D^{(*)})$ are $ R(D)=0.337^{+0.038}_{-0.037}$ and $ R(D^*)=0.269^{+0.021}_{-0.020}$, they agree with the data within $2σ$ deviation, in other words, one can explain the "$R(D^{(*)})$-puzzle" in the framework of the standard model.

Decays $D^+_{(s)}\to π(K)^{+}\ell^+\ell^-$ and $D^0\to \ell^+\ell^-$ in the MSSM with and without R-parity

We study the rare decays $D^+\to π^{+}\ell^+\ell^-$, $D^+_s\to K^{+}\ell^+\ell^-$ and $D^0\to \ell^+\ell^-(\ell=e,μ)$ in the minimal supersymmetic standard model with and without R-parity. Using the strong constraints on relevant supersymmetric parameters from $D^0-\bar{D}^0$ mixing and $K^+\to π^+ν\barν$ decay, we examine constrained supersymmetry contributions to relevant branching ratios, direct CP violations and ratios of $D^+_{(s)}\to π(K)^{+}μ^+μ^-$ and $D^+_{(s)}\to π(K)^{+}e^+e^-$ decay rates. We find that both R-parity conserving LR as well as RL mass insertions and R-parity violating squark exchange couplings have huge effects on the direct CP violations of $D^+_{(s)}\to π(K)^{+}\ell^+\ell^-$, moreover, the constrained LR and RL mass insertions still have obvious effects on the ratios of $D^+_{(s)}\to π(K)^{+}μ^+μ^-$ and $D^+_{(s)}\to π(K)^{+}e^+e^-$ decay rates. The direct CP asymmetries and the ratios of $D^+_{(s)}\to π(K)^{+}μ^+μ^-$ and $D^+_{(s)}\to π(K)^{+}e^+e^-$ decay rates are very sensitive to both moduli and phases of relevant supersymmetric parameters. In addition, the differential direct CP asymmetries of $D^+_{(s)}\to π(K)^{+}\ell^+\ell^-$ are studied in detail.

Probing the R-parity violating supersymmetric effects in the exclusive $c\to d/s\ellν_\ell$ decays

A lot of branching ratios of the exclusive $c \to d/s\ellν_\ell$ ($\ell=e,μ$) decays have been quite accurately measured by CLEO-c, BELLE, BABAR, BES(I,II,III), ALEPH and MARKIII collaborations. We probe the R-parity violating supersymmetric effects in the exclusive $c \to d/s\ellν_\ell$ decays. From the latest experimental measurements, we obtain new upper limits on the relevant R-parity violating coupling parameters within the decays, and many upper limits are obtained for the first time. Using the constrained new parameter spaces, we predict the R-parity violating effects on the observables, which have not been measured or have not been well measured yet. We find that the R-parity violating effects due to slepton exchange could be large on the branching ratios of $D_{d/s}\to eν_e$ decays and the normalized forward-backward asymmetries of $D_{u/d}\to π/K \ellν_\ell$ as well as $D_s\to K \ellν_\ell$ decays, and all branching ratios of the relevant semileptonic $D$ decays are sensitive to squark exchange couplings. Our results in this work could be used to probe new physics effects in the leptonic decays as well as the semileptonic decays, and will correlate with searches for direct supersymmetric signals at LHC and BESIII.

Analysis of $B_s\to ϕμ^+μ^-$ decay within supersymmetry

Motivated by the first measurement on $\mathcal{B}(B_s\toϕμ^+μ^-)$ by the CDF Collaboration, we study the supersymmetric effects in semi-leptonic $B_s\toϕμ^+μ^-$ decay. In our evaluations, we analyze the dependences of the dimuon invariant mass spectrum and the forward-backward asymmetry on relevant supersymmetric couplings in the MSSM with and without R-parity. The analyses show the new experimental upper limits of $\mathcal{B}(B_s\toμ^+μ^-)$ from the LHCb Collaboration could further improve the bounds on sneutrino exchange couplings and $(δ^u_{LL})_{23}$ as well as $(δ^d_{LL,RR})_{23}$ mass insertion couplings. In addition, within the allowed ranges of relevant couplings under the constraints from $\mathcal{B}(B_s\toϕμ^+μ^-)$, $\mathcal{B}(B\to K^{(*)}μ^+μ^-)$ and $\mathcal{B}(B_s\to μ^+μ^-)$, the dimuon forward-backward asymmetry and the differential dimuon forward-backward asymmetry of $B_s\toϕμ^+μ^-$ are highly sensitive to the squark exchange contribution and the $(δ^u_{LL})_{23}$ mass insertion contribution. The results obtained in this work will be very useful in searching supersymmetric signal at the LHC.

Revisiting B_s\toμ^+μ^- and B\to K^{(*)}μ^+μ^- decays in the MSSM with and without R-parity

The rare decays B_s -> μ^+μ^- and B -> K^{(*)}μ^+μ^- are sensitive to new particles and couplings via their interferences with the standard model contributions. Recently, the upper bound on B(B_s -> μ^+μ^-) has been improved significantly by the CMS, LHCb, CDF, and DØ experiments. Combining with the measurements of B(B-> K^{(*)}μ^+μ^-), we derive constraints on the relevant parameters of minimal supersymmetic standard model with and without R-parity, and examine their contributions to the dimuon forward-backward asymmetry in B-> K^{*}μ^+μ^- decay. We find that (i) the contribution of R-parity violating coupling products λ^{\prime}_{2i2}λ^{\prime*}_{2i3} due to squark exchange is comparable with the theoretical uncertainties in B-> K μ^+μ^- decay, but still could be significant in B-> K^{*}μ^+μ^- decay and could account for the forward-backward asymmetry in all dimuon invariant mass regions; (ii) the constrained mass insertion (δ^{u}_{LL})_{23} could have significant contribution to dA_{FB}(B-> K^{*}μ^+μ^-)/ds, and such effects are favored by thr recent results of the Belle, CDF, and LHCb experiments.

Studying of B_s^0-\bar{B}_s^0 mixing and B_{s}\to K^{(*)-}K^{(*)+} decays within supersymmetry

Recent results from CDF and DØ collaborations favor a large CP asymmetry in B_s^0-\bar{B}_s^0 mixing, while the standard model prediction is very small. Such a large phase may imply sizable new physics effects in B_s^0-\bar{B}_s^0 mixing. We compute the gluino-mediated supersymmetry contributions to B_s^0-\bar{B}_s^0 mixing, B_s->K^{(*)-}K^{(*)+} and B->X_sγdecays in the frame of the mass insertion approximation. Combining the constraints of \DeltaM_s, ΔΓ_s, ϕ^{J/ψϕ}_s, B(B_s->K^{-}K^{+}) and B(B->X_s γ), we find that the effects of the constrained LL and RR insertions in B_s->K^{(*)-}K^{(*)+} decays are small because of the absence of gluino mass enhancement. For m^2_{\tilde{g}}/m^2_{\tilde{q}}=9, the constrained LR insertion can provide sizable contributions to all observables of B_s->K^{(*)-}K^{(*)+} decays except A^{dir}_{CP}(B_s->K^{-}K^{+}), and many observables are sensitive to the modulus and the phase of the LR insertion parameter. Near future experiments at Fermilab Tevatron and CERN LHC-b can test these predictions and shrink/reveal the mass insertion parameter spaces.

Reevaluating R-parity Violating Supersymmetry Effects in B_s^0-\bar{B}_s^0 Mixing

Recently, the CDF and DØ collaborations have claimed that the CP violating phase in $B_s^0-\bar{B}_s^0$ mixing is large, which is contrary to the expectations in the Standard Model. Such a large phase suggests New Physics contributions to $B_s^0-\bar{B}_s^0$ mixing. Motivated by this, we reevaluate the constraints on R-parity violating contributions, including baryon number violating couplings not considered before, to the mixing mass matrix element $M^s_{12}$ from the recent measurements of $B_s^0-\bar{B}_s^0$ mixing. We show that present data allow us to put quite strong constraints on both the magnitudes and the weak phases of the R-parity violating parameters. Some of these bounds are better than the exciting ones, and some bounds are obtained for the first time. Near future experiments at the Tevatron, the LHC and B-factories can shrink or reveal the relevant parameter spaces of R-parity violating couplings.

Studying of Bs --> K(*)-pi+, K(*)-rho+ decays within supersymmetry

Recent results from CDF Collaboration favor a large CP asymmetry in $B_s\rightarrow K^-π^+$ decay, while the Standard Model prediction is very small. Moreover, the measurement of its branching ratio is lower than the Standard Model prediction based on the QCD factorization. We compute the gluino-mediated supersymmetry contributions to $B_{s}\to K^{(*)-}π^{+}$,$K^{(*)-}ρ^{+}$ decays in the frame of the mass insertion method, and find that for $\frac{m^2_{\tilde{g}}}{m^2_{\tilde{q}}}\leq2$, the theoretical predictions including the LR and RL mass insertion contributions are compatible with the measurements of $B_s\to K^-π^+$ decay and $B^0-\bar{B}^0$ mixing within $2σ$ ranges. Using the constrained LR and RL mass insertion parameter spaces, we explore the supersymmetry mass insertion effects on the branching ratios, the direct CP asymmetries and the polarization fractions in $B_{s}\to K^{*-}π^+, K^{-}ρ^+, K^{*-}ρ^+$ decays. We find the constrained LR and RL insertions can provide sizable contributions to the branching ratios of $B_{s}\to K^{*-}π^{+}$,$K^{(*)-}ρ^{+}$ as well as the direct CP asymmetry and the longitudinal polarization of $B_{s}\to K^{*-}ρ^{+}$ decay without conflict with all related data within $2σ$ ranges. Near future experiments at Fermi Lab and CERN LHC-b can test our predictions and shrink/reveal the mass insertion parameter spaces.

Studying Exclusive Semi-leptonic $b\to (s,d) ν\barν$ Decays in the MSSM without R-parity

We present a complete study of R-parity violating supersymmetric effects in thirteen exclusive and inclusive semi-leptonic $b \to (s,d) ν\barν$ decays, including $B^+_u\to K^{(*)+}ν\barν$, $B^0_d\to K^{(*)0}ν\barν$, $B^0_s\to ϕν\barν$, $B^0_d\to π^0(ρ^0)ν\barν$, $B^+_u\to π^+(ρ^+)ν\barν$, $B^0_s\to K^{(*)0}ν\barν$ and $B \to X_{s,d} ν\barν$ decay modes, and we find those thirteen modes are very sensitive to the constrained R-parity violating couplings. We derive stringent bounds on relevant R-parity violating couplings, which are based on all existent experimental upper limits of involved semi-leptonic decays. In addition, we also investigate the sensitivities of the branching ratios and di-neutrino invariant mass spectra to the survived R-parity violating coupling spaces. Since the experimental bounds would become much better soon through Super-B, we expect that future experiments will greatly strengthen our bounds.

B_s\to K^{(*)-}K^{(*)+}, K^{(*)-}π^{+}, K^{(*)-}ρ^{+} decays in R-parity violating supersymmetry

With the first measurements of the branching ratios and the direct CP asymmetries of $B_s\to K^{-}K^{+}$, $K^{-}π^{+}$ decays by the CDF collaboration, we constrain the relevant parameter space of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with R-parity violation. Using the constrained R-parity violating couplings, we further examine their possible effects in $B_{s}\to K^{-*}π^{+}$, $K^{(*)-}ρ^{+}$ and $K^{(*)\pm}K^{(*)\mp}$ decays. We find that some branching ratios and CP asymmetries are very sensitive to the R-parity violating couplings. The direct longitudinal CP asymmetries of tree-dominated process $B_s\to K^{*-}ρ^{+}$ could be enlarged to $\sim 70%$ and the longitudinal polarizations of $B_s\to K^{*-}K^{*+}$, $K^{*-}ρ^{+}$ decays could be suppressed very much by the squark exchange couplings. Near future experiments at CERN LHC can test these predictions and shrink/reveal the parameter spaces of RPV SUSY.

Studying Double Charm Decays of B_{u,d} and B_{s} Mesons in the MSSM with R-parity Violation

Motivated by the possible large direct CP asymmetry of \bar{B}^0_d \to D^+ D^- decay measured by Belle collaboration, we investigate double charm B_{u,d} and B_s decays in the minimal supersymmetric standard model with R-parity violation. We derive the bounds on relevant R-parity violating couplings from the current experimental data, which show quite consistent measurements among relative collaborations. Using the constrained parameter spaces, we explore R-parity violating effects on other observables in these decays, which have not been measured or have not been well measured yet. We find that the R-parity violating effects on the mixing-induced CP asymmetries of \bar{B}^0_d \to D^{(*)+} D^{(*)-} and \bar{B}^0_s \to D^{(*)+}_s D^{(*)-}_s decays could be very large, nevertheless the R-parity violating effects on the direct CP asymmetries could not be large enough to explain the large direct CP violation of \bar{B}^0_d \to D^{+} D^{-} from Belle. Our results could be used to probe R-parity violating effects and will correlate with searches for direct R-parity violating signals in future experiments.

Study of the exclusive $b \to u \ell^- \barν_{\ell}$ decays in the MSSM with and without R-parity violation

We study the exclusive $b \to u \ell^- \barν_{\ell} (\ell=τ,μ,e)$ decays in the MSSM with and without R-parity violation. From the experimental measurements of branching ratios $\mathcal{B}(B^-_u \to τ^- \barν_τ)$, $\mathcal{B}(B^-_u \to M'^0 \ell'^- \barν_{\ell'})$ and $\mathcal{B}(\bar{B}^0_d \to M'^+ \ell'^- \barν_{\ell'})$ $(\ell'=μ,e, M'=π,ρ)$, we derive new upper bounds on the relevant new physics parameters within the decays. Using the constrained new physics parameter spaces, we predict the charged Higgs effects and the R-parity violating effects on the branching ratios, the normalized forward-backward asymmetries of charged leptons, and the ratios of longitudinal to transverse polarization of the vector mesons, which have not been measured or have not been well measured yet. We find that the charged Higgs effects and the R-parity violating effects could be large and measurable in some cases. Our results could be used to probe new physics effects in the leptonic decays as well as the semileptonic decays, and will correlate with searches for direct supersymmetric signals in future experiments.
