Sol-Attn: Accelerating Video Generation Inference via On-the-Fly Attention Sparsification

Diffusion transformers are essential for high-fidelity video generation, but long token sequences make attention a dominant inference bottleneck. Training-free dynamic sparse attention alleviates this bottleneck by computing only selected key-value blocks, yet existing methods struggle to sparsify attention both efficiently and accurately for two reasons: (1) Rigid, unpredictable, and costly routing: selecting a fixed fraction of top-ranked blocks by proxy score imposes fixed budgets, whereas retaining blocks to reach a target cumulative proxy probability mass yields dynamic but potentially imbalanced budgets; both incur non-negligible overhead from computing and materializing proxy scores. (2) Lossy keep-or-drop sparsification: unselected blocks are discarded entirely, degrading accuracy under aggressive sparsity. These limitations motivate cheaper dynamic-budget routing while limiting accuracy degradation. In this paper, we introduce training-free Sol-Attn (Sparsifying online attention), which unifies dynamic routing, sparse computation, and approximation correction in a single online-softmax pass, achieving a better accuracy-efficiency trade-off in sparse attention. The core of Sol-Attn is on-the-fly block thresholding with proxy-score reuse, which selects critical blocks by comparing block proxy scores against a threshold during online softmax. This design enables dynamic yet controllable block budgets without materializing the proxy map, while directly reusing the proxy scores of unselected blocks to approximate their contribution. Experiments across image and video generation tasks show that Sol-Attn advances the quality-efficiency frontier of training-free sparse attention, delivering 2.1 times and 2.3 times end-to-end speedups for video generation and editing, respectively, while preserving visual quality.

PhysisForcing: Physics Reinforced World Simulator for Robotic Manipulation

Video generation models have emerged as a promising paradigm for embodied world simulation. However, both general-domain video generators and robot-specific data fine-tuned models can still produce physically implausible manipulations, including discontinuous motion trajectories and inconsistent robot-object interactions, which limits their reliability as world simulators. Through extensive experiments, we find that such physical instability mainly arises from two factors: deformation of moving objects and implausible spatio-temporal correlations among interacting entities, particularly during contact. Building on this observation, we propose PhysisForcing, a scalable training framework that strengthens physical consistency by focusing supervision on physics-informative regions through joint optimization of pixel-level and semantic-level features. The framework consists of a pixel-level trajectory alignment loss, which supervises DiT features using reference point trajectories, and a semantic-level relational alignment loss, which aligns DiT features with inter-region relations extracted from a frozen video understanding encoder. Extensive experiments on R-Bench, PAI-Bench, and EZS-Bench show that PhysisForcing consistently improves embodied video generation over strong baselines, improving the Wan2.2-I2V-A14B and Cosmos3-Nano base models on R-Bench by 22.3\% and 9.2\% (7.1\% and 3.7\% over vanilla finetuning), with the Cosmos3-Nano variant attaining the best overall score. Beyond generation, as a world model under the WorldArena action-planner protocol it raises the closed-loop success rate from 16.0\% to 24.0\% and further improves downstream policy success, indicating that physically aligned video models yield stronger representations for robotic manipulation.

DrivAerStar: An Industrial-Grade CFD Dataset for Vehicle Aerodynamic Optimization

Vehicle aerodynamics optimization has become critical for automotive electrification, where drag reduction directly determines electric vehicle range and energy efficiency. Traditional approaches face an intractable trade-off: computationally expensive Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations requiring weeks per design iteration, or simplified models that sacrifice production-grade accuracy. While machine learning offers transformative potential, existing datasets exhibit fundamental limitations -- inadequate mesh resolution, missing vehicle components, and validation errors exceeding 5% -- preventing deployment in industrial workflows. We present DrivAerStar, comprising 12,000 industrial-grade automotive CFD simulations generated using STAR-CCM+${}^\unicode{xAE}$ software. The dataset systematically explores three vehicle configurations through 20 Computer Aided Design (CAD) parameters via Free Form Deformation (FFD) algorithms, including complete engine compartments and cooling systems with realistic internal airflow. DrivAerStar achieves wind tunnel validation accuracy below 1.04% -- a five-fold improvement over existing datasets -- through refined mesh strategies with strict wall $y^+$ control. Benchmarks demonstrate that models trained on this data achieve production-ready accuracy while reducing computational costs from weeks to minutes. This represents the first dataset bridging academic machine learning research and industrial CFD practice, establishing a new standard for data-driven aerodynamic optimization in automotive development. Beyond automotive applications, DrivAerStar demonstrates a paradigm for integrating high-fidelity physics simulations with Artificial Intelligence (AI) across engineering disciplines where computational constraints currently limit innovation.

GlobalTomo: A global dataset for physics-ML seismic wavefield modeling and FWI

Global seismic tomography, taking advantage of seismic waves from natural earthquakes, provides essential insights into the earth's internal dynamics. Advanced Full-waveform Inversion (FWI) techniques, whose aim is to meticulously interpret every detail in seismograms, confront formidable computational demands in forward modeling and adjoint simulations on a global scale. Recent advancements in Machine Learning (ML) offer a transformative potential for accelerating the computational efficiency of FWI and extending its applicability to larger scales. This work presents the first 3D global synthetic dataset tailored for seismic wavefield modeling and full-waveform tomography, referred to as the GlobalTomo dataset. This dataset is uniquely comprehensive, incorporating explicit wave physics and robust geophysical parameterization at realistic global scales, generated through state-of-the-art forward simulations optimized for 3D global wavefield calculations. Through extensive analysis and the establishment of ML baselines, we illustrate that ML approaches are particularly suitable for global FWI, overcoming its limitations with rapid forward modeling and flexible inversion strategies. This work represents a cross-disciplinary effort to enhance our understanding of the earth's interior through physics-ML modeling.

Data-driven solar forecasting enables near-optimal economic decisions

Solar energy adoption is critical to achieving net-zero emissions. However, it remains difficult for many industrial and commercial actors to decide on whether they should adopt distributed solar-battery systems, which is largely due to the unavailability of fast, low-cost, and high-resolution irradiance forecasts. Here, we present SunCastNet, a lightweight data-driven forecasting system that provides 0.05$^\circ$, 10-minute resolution predictions of surface solar radiation downwards (SSRD) up to 7 days ahead. SunCastNet, coupled with reinforcement learning (RL) for battery scheduling, reduces operational regret by 76--93\% compared to robust decision making (RDM). In 25-year investment backtests, it enables up to five of ten high-emitting industrial sectors per region to cross the commercial viability threshold of 12\% Internal Rate of Return (IRR). These results show that high-resolution, long-horizon solar forecasts can directly translate into measurable economic gains, supporting near-optimal energy operations and accelerating renewable deployment.

Isolated vertices in two duplication-divergence models with edge deletion

Duplication-divergence models are a popular model for the evolution of gene and protein interaction networks. However, existing duplication-divergence models often neglect realistic features such as loss of interactions. Thus, in this paper we present two novel models that incorporate random edge deletions into the duplication-divergence framework. As in protein-protein interaction networks, with proteins as vertices and interactions as edges, by design isolated vertices tend to be rare, our main focus is on the number of isolated vertices; our main result gives lower and upper bounds for the proportion of isolated vertices, when the network size is large. Using these bounds we identify the parameter regimes for which almost all vertices are typically isolated; and also show that there are parameter regimes in which the proportion of isolated vertices can be bounded away from 0 and 1 with high probability. In addition, we find regimes in which the proportion of isolated vertices tends to be small. The proof relies on a standard martingale argument, which in turn requires a careful analysis of the first two moments of the expected degree distribution. The theoretical findings are illustrated by simulations, indicating that as the network size tends to infinity, the proportion of isolated vertices can converge to a limit that is neither 0 or 1.

Geometric Pooling: maintaining more useful information

Graph Pooling technology plays an important role in graph node classification tasks. Sorting pooling technologies maintain large-value units for pooling graphs of varying sizes. However, by analyzing the statistical characteristic of activated units after pooling, we found that a large number of units dropped by sorting pooling are negative-value units that contain useful information and can contribute considerably to the final decision. To maintain more useful information, a novel pooling technology, called Geometric Pooling (GP), was proposed to contain the unique node features with negative values by measuring the similarity of all node features. We reveal the effectiveness of GP from the entropy reduction view. The experiments were conducted on TUdatasets to show the effectiveness of GP. The results showed that the proposed GP outperforms the SOTA graph pooling technologies by 1%\sim5% with fewer parameters.

LLaSM: Large Language and Speech Model

Multi-modal large language models have garnered significant interest recently. Though, most of the works focus on vision-language multi-modal models providing strong capabilities in following vision-and-language instructions. However, we claim that speech is also an important modality through which humans interact with the world. Hence, it is crucial for a general-purpose assistant to be able to follow multi-modal speech-and-language instructions. In this work, we propose Large Language and Speech Model (LLaSM). LLaSM is an end-to-end trained large multi-modal speech-language model with cross-modal conversational abilities, capable of following speech-and-language instructions. Our early experiments show that LLaSM demonstrates a more convenient and natural way for humans to interact with artificial intelligence. Specifically, we also release a large Speech Instruction Following dataset LLaSM-Audio-Instructions. Code and demo are available at https://github.com/LinkSoul-AI/LLaSM and https://huggingface.co/spaces/LinkSoul/LLaSM. The LLaSM-Audio-Instructions dataset is available at https://huggingface.co/datasets/LinkSoul/LLaSM-Audio-Instructions.
