On Positivities of Certain q-Special Functions

In this work we shall apply the Bochner's theorem to prove certain combinations of Euler's q-exponentials are positive definite functions. Then we apply this positivity to prove curious inequalities for the Jacobi theta function $\vartheta_{4}$ and q-Gamma function $Γ_{q}$.

Asymptotics of Certain q-Series

In this work we study complete asymptotic expansions for the q-series $\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\frac{1}{n^{b}}q^{n^{a}}$ and $\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\frac{σ_α(n)}{n^{b}}q^{n^{a}}$ in the scale function $(\log q)^{n}$ as $q\to1^{-}$, where $a>0,\ q\in(0,1),\,b,α\in\mathbb{C}$ and $σ_α(n)$ is the divisor function $σ_α(n)=\sum_{d\vert n}d^α$.

Summing Lambert Series in Euler's q-Exponential Functions

In the work we shall present formulas to sum Lambert series using Euler's q-exponential functions, and several Lambert series associated with well-known arithmetic functions are given as examples. These functions are: the Möbius $μ(n)$, the Euler's totient $φ(n)$, Jordan's totient $J_{k}(n)$, von Mangoldt $Λ(n)$, divisor function $σ_{s}(n)$, the Ramanujan's sum $c_{q}(n)$ , and sum of square functions $r_{2}(n),r_{4}(n),r_{8}(n)$.

An Appell series over finite fields

In this paper we present a finite field analogue for one of the Appell series. We shall derive its transformations, reduction formulas as well as generating functions.

Kibble-Slepian Formula and Generating Functions for 2$D$ Polynomials

We prove a generalization of the Kibble--Slepian formula (for Hermite polynomials) and its unitary analogue involving the $2$D Hermite polynomials recently proved in \cite{Ism4}. We derive integral representations for the $2$D Hermite polynomials which are of independent interest. Several new generating functions for $2$D $q$-Hermite polynomials will also be given.

Integral and Series Representations of $q$-Polynomials and Functions: Part I

By applying an integral representation for $q^{k^{2}}$ we systematically derive a large number of new Fourier and Mellin transform pairs and establish new integral representations for a variety of $q$-functions and polynomials that naturally arise from combinatorics, analysis, and orthogonal polynomials corresponding to indeterminate moment problems. These functions include $q$-Bessel functions, the Ramanujan function, Stieltjes--Wigert polynomials, $q$-Hermite and $q^{-1}$-Hermite polynomials, and the $q$-exponential functions $e_{q}$, $E_{q}$ and $\mathcal{E}_{q}$. Their representations are in turn used to derive many new identities involving $q$-functions and polynomials. In this work we also present contour integral representations for the above mentioned functions and polynomials.

Integrals and Series Representations of $q$-Polynomials and Functions: Part II Schur Polynomials and the Rogers-Ramanujan Identities

We give several expansion and identities involving the Ramanujan function $A_q$ and the Stieltjes--Wigert polynomials. Special values of our idenitities give $m$-versions of some of the items on the Slater list of Rogers-Ramanujan type identities. We also study some bilateral extensions of certain transformations in the theory of basic hypergeometric functions.

On Certain Positive Semidefinite Matrices of Special Functions

Special functions are often defined as a Fourier or Laplace transform of a positive measure, and the positivity of the measure manifests as positive definiteness of certain matrices. The purpose of this expository note is to give a sample of such positive definite matrices to demonstrate this connection for some well-known special functions such as Gamma, Beta, hypergeometric, theta, elliptic, zeta and basic hypergeometric functions.

Zeros of Ramanujan Type Entire Functions

In this work we establish some polynomials and entire functions have only real zeros. These polynomials generalize q-Laguerre polynomials $L_{n}^{(α)}(x;q)$, while the entire functions are generalizations of Ramanujan's entire function $A_{q}(z)$, q-Bessel functions $J_ν^{(2)}(z;q)$, $J_ν^{(3)}(z;q)$ and confluent basic hypergeometric series.

Classes of Bivariate Orthogonal Polynomials

We introduce a class of orthogonal polynomials in two variables which generalizes the disc polynomials and the 2-$D$ Hermite polynomials. We identify certain interesting members of this class including a one variable generalization of the 2-$D$ Hermite polynomials and a two variable extension of the Zernike or disc polynomials. We also give $q$-analogues of all these extensions. In each case in addition to generating functions and three term recursions we provide raising and lowering operators and show that the polynomials are eigenfunctions of second-order partial differential or $q$-difference operators.

On Power Sums of Positive Numbers

In this work we establish a necessary and sufficient condition for a genus $0$ entire function $f(z)$ has only positive zeros by applying Hausdorff moment problem and Mergelyan's theorem, the obtained criterion is very much reminiscent of Xian-Jin Li's criterion on the Riemann hypothesis. We also apply this criterion to the Riemann hypothesis and the generalized Riemann hypothesis for certain Dirichlet $L$-series of real primitive characters.

On Zeros of Fourier Transforms

In this work we verify the sufficiency of a Jensen's necessary and sufficient condition for a class of genus 0 or 1 entire functions to have only real zeros. They are Fourier transforms of even, positive, indefinitely differentiable, and very fast decreasing functions. We also apply our result to several important special functions in mathematics, such as modified Bessel function $K_{iz}(a),\ a>0$ as a function of variable $z$, Riemann Xi function $Ξ(z)$, and character Xi function $Ξ(z;χ)$ when $χ$ is a real primitive non-principal character satisfying $φ(u;χ)\ge0$ on the real line, we prove these entire functions have only real zeros.

On some 2D orthogonal q-polynomials

We introduce two q-analogues of the 2D-Hermite polynomials which are functions of two complex variables. We derive explicit formulas, orthogonality relations, raising and lowering operator relations, generating functions, and Rodrigues formulas for both families. We also introduce a q-2D analogue of the disk polynomials (Zernike polynomials) and derive similar formulas for them as well including evaluating certain connection coefficients. Some of the generating functions may be related to Rogers-Ramanujan type identities.

$q$-Bessel Functions and Rogers-Ramanujan Type Identities

We evaluate $q$-Bessel functions at an infinite sequence of points and introduce a generalization of the Ramanujan function and give an extension of the $m$-version of the Rogers-Ramanujan identities. We also prove several generating functions for Stieltjes-Wigert polynomials with argument depending on the degree. In addition we give several Rogers-Ramanujan type identities.

On Asymptotics Of Γ_{q}(z) As q Approaching 1

In this note we give a derivation of the asymptotic main term for the q-Gamma function as q approaching 1. This formula is valid on all the complex plan except at the poles of the Euler Gamma function.

Scaled Asymptotics for Some q-Series as q Approaches One

In this work we investigate Plancherel-Rotach type asymptotics for some $q$-series as $q\to1$. These $q$-series generalize Ramanujan function $A_{q}(z)$ ($q$-Airy function), Jackson's $q$-Bessel function $J_ν^{(2)}$(z;q), Ismail-Masson orthogonal polynomials($q^{-1}$-Hermite polynomials) $h_{n}(x|q)$, Stieltjes-Wigert orthogonal polynomials $S_{n}(x;q)$, $q$-Laguerre orthogonal polynomials $L_{n}^{(α)}(x;q)$ and confluent basic hypergeometric series.
