Perfectoid unitary Shimura varieties and $p$-adic Eichler-Shimura map I

We investigate $p$-adic automorphic forms on unitary groups through the geometry of infinite-level unitary Shimura varieties and the Hodge-Tate period map. We first develop a perfectoid construction of overconvergent automorphic forms. Building on this, we establish a canonical overconvergent Eichler-Shimura map linking overconvergent cohomology to these $p$-adic automorphic forms. This map induces a comparison between the corresponding coherent sheaves on the eigenvariety, with applications to the study of its geometry and to $p$-adic $L$-functions.

p-adic level raising on the eigenvariety for U(3)

We prove level raising results for $p$-adic automorphic forms on definite unitary groups $U(3)/\mathbb{Q}$ and deduce some intersection points on the eigenvariety. Let $l$ be an inert prime where the level subgroups varies, if there is a non-very-Eisenstein point $\phi$ on the old component (generically parametrizing forms old at $l$) satisfying $T_{l}(\phi)=l(l^3+1)$, then this point also lies in the new component (generically parametrizing forms new at $l$). This provides a $p$-adic analogue of Bella\"iche and Graftieaux's mod $p$ level raising for classical automorphic forms on $U(3)$, and also generalizes James Newton's $p$-adic level raising results for definite quaternion algebras. Key ingredients include abelian Ihara lemma (proved for any definite unitary group $U(n)$) and some duality arguments about certain Hecke modules. Finally we also discuss some methods to construct such points explicitly and further development.

Bruhat-Tits buildings and $p$-adic period domains

Let $G$ be a connected reductive group over a $p$-adic local field $F$. R\'emy-Thuillier-Werner constructed embeddings of the (reduced) Bruhat-Tits building $\mathcal{B}(G,F)$ into the Berkovich spaces associated to suitable flag varieties of $G$, generalizing the work of Berkovich in split case. They defined compactifications of $\mathcal{B}(G,F)$ by taking closure inside these Berkovich flag varieties. We show that, in the setting of a basic local Shimura datum, the R\'emy-Thuillier-Werner embedding factors through the associated $p$-adic Hodge-Tate period domain. Moreover, we compare the boundaries of the Berkovich compactification of $\mathcal{B}(G,F)$ with non basic Newton strata. In the case of $\mathrm{GL}_n$ and the cocharacter $\mu=(1^d, 0^{n-d})$ for an integer $d$ which is coprime to $n$, we further construct a continuous retraction map from the $p$-adic period domain to the building. This reveals new information on these $p$-adic period domains, which share many similarities with the Drinfeld spaces.

Special cycles on orthogonal Shimura varieties

In this paper, we investigate a general method to establish tame and norm relations for special cycles in Shimura varieties, using unitary cycles in odd orthogonal Shimura varieties as a guiding example.
