Magneto-conductivity and CME in Dirac semimetals from Keldysh technique in Landau levels basis

Negative magnetoresistance in Dirac semimetals is conventionally considered as a manifestation of chiral magnetic effect (CME), by means of a postulated Chiral Kinetic equation. In this paper we study magnetoconductivity in large Fermi energy Dirac semimetals, in one of which (ZrTe$_5$) the effect was observed for the first time. Starting with a Hamiltonian for a semi-realistic model of such a Dirac semimetal, we apply the Non-equilibrium Diagram Technique (NDT, or the Keldysh technique) to derive the kinetic equations, to investigate the electrons relaxation due to interaction with phonons and disorder, and, finally, to calculate the DC magnetoconductivity (the longitudinal to magnetic field component of conductivity) as a function of magnetic field strength and temperature. Finally, we compare the obtained temperature dependencies with available to us experimental data.

Non-perturbative suppression of the Chiral Magnetic Effect in Quark Gluon Plasma

In this paper the non-perturbative suppression of the Chiral Magnetic Effect (CME) is investigated in the deconfined region of the QCD phase diagram (as a model for Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) emerging in Heavy Ion Collisions (HIC)), using the Kubo formula to calculate a linear response to the chiral imbalance, and the Field Correlator Method to address the strong interaction in QCD. The estimate suggests that CME is severely suppressed in most of the QCD phase diagram, except within a narrow strip at baryon densities above nuclear and temperatures just above the deconfinement transition. The result suggests refining the conditions under which the CME might be observable -- prioritizing the conditions at lower energy RHIC-BES, SPS and upcoming FAIR, NICA, J-PARC-HI, which supposedly produce high baryon density QGP, over the higher energy RHIC and LHC, which produce high temperature QGP.

Non-perturbative suppression of Chiral Effects in hot QGP for $Λ/\barΛ$-hyperons spin polarization in heavy-ion collisions

We review the calculation of suppression of Chiral Separational and Chiral Vortical Effects for strange quarks (which allegedly yield spin polarization of $Λ/\barΛ$-hyperons in peripheral Heavy-Ion Collisions) by the non-perturbative interactions in hot deconfined QCD with the Field Correlator Method. The parameter range in the temperature-baryon density plane is expected to cover LHC-ALICE and RHIC-STAR data.
