Eigenvalue fluctuations for lattice Anderson Hamiltonians

We study the statistics of Dirichlet eigenvalues of the random Schrödinger operator $-ε^{-2}Δ^{(\text{d})}+ξ^{(ε)}(x)$, with $Δ^{(\text{d})}$ the discrete Laplacian on $\mathbb Z^d$ and $ξ^{(ε)}(x)$ uniformly bounded independent random variables, on sets of the form $D_ε:=\{x\in \mathbb Z^d\colon xε\in D\}$ for $D\subset \mathbb R^d$ bounded, open and with a smooth boundary. If $\mathbb Eξ^{(ε)}(x)=U(xε)$ holds for some bounded and continuous $U\colon D\to \mathbb R$, we show that, as $ε\downarrow0$, the $k$-th eigenvalue converges to the $k$-th Dirichlet eigenvalue of the homogenized operator $-Δ+U(x)$, where $Δ$ is the continuum Dirichlet Laplacian on $D$. Assuming further that $\text{Var}(ξ^{(ε)}(x))=V(xε)$ for some positive and continuous $V\colon D\to \mathbb R$, we establish a multivariate central limit theorem for simple eigenvalues centered by their expectation. The limiting covariance for a given pair of simple eigenvalues is expressed as an integral of $V$ against the product of squares of the corresponding eigenfunctions of $-Δ+U(x)$.

Annealed Brownian motion in a heavy tailed Poissonian potential

Consider a d-dimensional Brownian motion in a random potential defined by attaching a nonnegative and polynomially decaying potential around Poisson points. We introduce a repulsive interaction between the Brownian path and the Poisson points by weighting the measure by the Feynman-Kac functional. We show that under the weighted measure, the Brownian motion tends to localize around the origin. We also determine the scaling limit of the path and also the limit shape of the random potential.

Quenched large deviations for multidimensional random walk in random environment with holding times

We consider a random walk in random environment with random holding times, that is, the random walk jumping to one of its nearest neighbors with some transition probability after a random holding time. Both the transition probabilities and the laws of the holding times are randomly distributed over the integer lattice. Our main result is a quenched large deviation principle for the position of the random walk. The rate function is given by the Legendre transform of the so-called Lyapunov exponents for the Laplace transform of the first passage time. By using this representation, we derive some asymptotics of the rate function in some special cases.

On exponential growth for a certain class of linear systems

We consider a class of stochastic growth models on the integer lattice which includes various interesting examples such as the number of open paths in oriented percolation and the binary contact path process. Under some mild assumptions, we show that the total mass of the process grows exponentially in time whenever it survives. More precisely, we prove that there exists an open path, oriented in time, along which the mass grows exponentially fast.

Second order asymptotics for Brownian motion in a heavy tailed Poissonian potential

We consider the Feynman-Kac functional associated with a Brownian motion in a random potential. The potential is defined by attaching a heavy tailed positive potential around the Poisson point process. This model was first considered by Pastur (1977) and the first order term of the moment asymptotics was determined. In this paper, both moment and almost sure asymptotics are determined up to the second order. As an application, we also derive the second order asymptotics of the integrated density of states of the corresponding random Schrödinger operator.

Classical and quantum behavior of the integrated density of states for a randomly perturbed lattice

The asymptotic behavior of the integrated density of states for a randomly perturbed lattice at the infimum of the spectrum is investigated. The leading term is determined when the decay of the single site potential is slow. The leading term depends only on the classical effect from the scalar potential. To the contrary, the quantum effect appears when the decay of the single site potential is fast. The corresponding leading term is estimated and the leading order is determined. In the multidimensional cases, the leading order varies in different ways from the known results in the Poisson case. The same problem is considered for the negative potential. These estimates are applied to investigate the long time asymptotics of Wiener integrals associated with the random potentials.

From the Lifshitz tail to the quenched survival asymptotics in the trapping problem

The survival problem for a diffusing particle moving among random traps is considered. We introduce a simple argument to derive the quenched asymptotics of the survival probability from the Lifshitz tail effect for the associated operator. In particular, the upper bound is proved in fairly general settings and is shown to be sharp in the case of the Brownian motion in the Poissonian obstacles. As an application, we derive the quenched asymptotics for the Brownian motion in traps distributed according to a random perturbation of the lattice.

Brownian survival and Lifshitz tail in perturbed lattice disorder

We consider the annealed asymptotics for the survival probability of Brownian motion among randomly distributed traps. The configuration of the traps is given by independent displacements of the lattice points. We determine the long time asymptotics of the logarithm of the survival probability up to a multiplicative constant. As applications, we show the Lifshitz tail effect of the density of states of the associated random Schrödinger operator and derive a quantitative estimate for the strength of intermittency in the Parabolic Anderson problem.

Asymptotics for the Wiener sausage among Poissonian obstacles

We consider the Wiener sausage among Poissonian obstacles. The obstacle is called hard if Brownian motion entering the obstacle is immediately killed, and is called soft if it is killed at certain rate. It is known that Brownian motion conditioned to survive among obstacles is confined in a ball near its starting point. We show the weak law of large numbers, large deviation principle in special cases and the moment asymptotics for the volume of the corresponding Wiener sausage. One of the consequence of our results is that the trajectory of Brownian motion almost fills the confinement ball.

Replica overlap and covering time for the Wiener sausages among Poissonian obstacles

We study two objects concerning the Wiener sausage among Poissonian obstacles. The first is the asymptotics for the \textit{replica overlap}, which is the intersection of two independent Wiener sausages. We show that it is asymptotically equal to their union. This result confirms that the localizing effect of the media is so strong as to completely determine the motional range of particles. The second is an estimate on the \textit{covering time}. It is known that the Wiener sausage avoiding Poissonian obstacles up to time $t$ is confined in some `clearing' ball near the origin and almost fills it. We prove here that the time needed to fill the confinement ball has the same order as its volume.
