Branched Spacetime Geometries from Harmonic $S^2$ Maps: Energy Matching and Its Limitations

We investigate a topological construction of general-relativistic geometries based on harmonic self-maps of the two-sphere, $S^{2}\rightarrow S^{2}$. Such maps are classified by an integer degree $k$. For $k>1$, however, the pullback angular metric is not globally smooth: it defines a branched covering with conical excesses at the north and south poles. We calculate the corresponding distributional curvature and show that the branch points extend over the $(t,r)$ sector as codimension-two defects with negative signed tension. For a branched Schwarzschild geometry, we introduce a smooth Reissner-Nordström (RN)-like radial deformation and define its finite bulk Killing energy relative to the $Q_{k}=0$ geometry in the same topological sector. An explicit phenomenological matching prescription relates this bulk energy to the scaled excess harmonic-map energy and determines $Q_{k}$. Identifying the matching scale with the outer horizon then yields a discrete sequence approaching an extremal limit. We also examine the associated horizon geometry, conditional entropy, regular curvature scalars, weak-field limit, and horizonless zero-mass sector. The same positive matching prescription does not extend universally. For the Simpson-Visser radial ansatz, the relative bulk Killing energy is negative. In the de Sitter case, the reduction $Λ\rightarrow Λ/k$ reproduces the excess map energy only through a common-volume reference subtraction, not through the direct energy difference between the physical sectors. The construction therefore provides a classical framework for branched topological sectors while also identifying the assumptions and limitations of the associated energy-matching prescription.

Charged Axially Symmetric Exponential Metric: Exact Solutions to the Einstein-Maxwell Equations

We construct and analyze charged and magnetized extensions of the axially symmetric exponential metric, that is known as the Curzon-Chazy spacetime (CCS) within the Weyl class. Working within the Einstein-Maxwell framework, we first derive an exact charged axially symmetric exponential metric by directly solving the coupled field equations for a dyonic monopole configuration. The solution is shown to reduce smoothly to the vacuum CCS in the neutral limit and to the extremal Reissner-Nordström spacetime in a special parameter regime. We then rederive the same charged geometry using the Harrison transformation in the Ernst formalism, establishing the equivalence between the direct and solution-generating approaches. Subsequently, we apply the magnetic Harrison transformation to obtain a Melvin-type magnetized deformation of the spacetime. Finally, by implementing the Ehlers transformation, we generate a stationary but nonrotating swirling geometry endowed with a nonvanishing NUT charge, which we identify invariantly via the Komar dual mass. A further magnetic Harrison transformation yields a magnetized swirling (NUT-type) spacetime. These results demonstrate how electric, magnetic, and gravitomagnetic charges arise systematically from the CCS through exact solution-generating techniques.

Physical properties of charged black holes from the nonlinear electrodynamics model based on electric potential regularization

We investigate static, spherically symmetric black hole solutions arising from Einstein gravity minimally coupled to a nonlinear electrodynamics (NED) model constructed from a regularized electric potential of a point charge. The resulting spacetime is characterized by three parameters, namely, the ADM mass $% M $, the electric charge $Q$, and the nonlinear scale $r_{0}$. We show that, depending on the values of $M$ and $Q$, the solutions exhibit a rich causal structure comprising black holes with single, double, and triple horizons, as well as naked singular geometries. The nature of the central singularity is determined by the combination $m-\frac{2}{3}q^{2}$, allowing for both spacelike and timelike singularities. We perform a detailed thermodynamic analysis by deriving the Hawking temperature and heat capacity, revealing the existence of two critical charge parameters that govern the thermal behavior. Below a critical charge, the black holes are thermally unstable, whereas above it a stable phase emerges within a finite range of horizon radii bounded by Davies points. For sufficiently large charge, extremal configurations with vanishing temperature arise, further constraining the stability region. We also investigate observational signatures by analyzing null geodesics and black hole shadows, showing that nonlinear electrodynamics corrections lead to noticeable deviations from the Reissner-Nordström geometry, including the possible absence of a photon sphere beyond a critical charge. Our results highlight that nonlinear electrodynamics significantly enriches the causal structure, thermodynamic phase space, and dynamical response of charged black holes, providing potentially observable deviations from the Reissner-Nordström paradigm.

Stability of neutral and charged Dyson shells around Reissner-Nordstrom compact objects

In this Letter, we show that, in contrast to Dyson shells surrounding uncharged compact objects, which are generally unstable, a neutral Dyson shell enclosing a charged compact object described by the Reissner-Nordstrom spacetime can attain a stable equilibrium configuration. We analytically derive the conditions for stability, determine the equilibrium radius and the corresponding minimum asymptotic energy, and show that small perturbations about this equilibrium lead to a stable oscillatory motion of the shell. The oscillation frequency is obtained explicitly and shown to increase with the shell mass and decrease with the charge of the central object. When the shell itself carries charge, its stability depends on the sign of this charge. Shells with the same sign as the central charge become progressively less stable, while oppositely charged shells exhibit enhanced stability due to the electrostatic attraction. These findings highlight the stabilizing role of electromagnetic interactions in Dyson-type thin-shell configurations within general relativity.

Axially Symmetric Exponential Metric

We revisit the Yilmaz Exponential Metric (YEM), which was recently shown to describe a traversable wormhole, and construct an axially symmetric generalization strictly within the framework of general relativity. Starting from a deformed spherically symmetric ansatz, we introduce a two-parameter family of Axially Symmetric Exponential Metric (ASEM) solutions that smoothly interpolate between the YEM and the Curzon-Chazy spacetime geometry.

Charged quantum Oppenheimer-Snyder model

In the framework of loop quantum cosmology, particularly within the quantum Oppenheimer-Snyder model, the semiclassical Ashtekar-Pawlowski-Singh (APS) metric is associated with a static, spherically symmetric black hole that incorporates quantum effects derived from the APS metric. This quantum-corrected black hole can be interpreted as a modified Schwarzschild black hole, where the Schwarzschild metric function is adjusted by an additional term proportional to $\frac{M^{2}}{r^{4}}$, with $r$ denoting the radial coordinate and $M,$ the black hole mass. In this study, we show that such a quantum-mechanically modified black hole can arise in the context of nonlinear electrodynamics with either electric or magnetic charge. This charged, quantum-corrected solution is then matched to a dust ball of constant mass $M_{APS}$, governed by the APS metric, at a timelike thin-shell possessing nonzero mass $m$ and electric charge $Q$ or magnetic charge $P$. Analytically, it is demonstrated that the thin-shell oscillates around an equilibrium radius $r=R_{eq}$, which is expressed in terms of $% M_{APS}$, $m$, and $Q$ or $P$.

Minimum asymptotic energy of a charged spherically symmetric thin-shell wormhole and its stability

The static spherically symmetric thin shell of proper mass $m$ and electric charge $q$ around a central star or black hole of mass $M$ is in general unstable. Although with fine-tuned $m,q,$ and $M$ it can be considered quasi-stable. These facts have been recently proved by Hod in \cite{HOD1} from which we are inspired to investigate the stability status of the throat of a spherically symmetric thin-shell wormhole (TSW) with the same proper mass and charge. Precisely, in this compact paper, we introduce the radius of stability for the throat of a static spherically symmetric charged TSW, by optimizing its energy measured by an asymptotic observer. Furthermore, we prove that at the stable equilibrium radius, the tension on the throat is zero, and a perturbation in the form of an initial kinetic energy results in an effective attractive potential such that the throat oscillates around the equilibrium point.

Schwarzschild-Levi-Civita black hole

Inspired by the geometry of the Ernst black hole which interpolates the static spherically symmetric Schwarzschild black hole and the static axially symmetric magnetic Melvin spacetime, in this Letter, we aim to present a solution to Einstein's field equation in vacuum to interpolate the Schwarzschild black hole and the Levi-Civita spacetime. Hence, we shall call the solution the Schwarzschild-Levi-Civita black hole. Effectively the solution is a one-parameter non-asymptotically flat black hole that is static, axially symmetric, and singular in its axis of symmetry.

Quantum particle on the surface of a spherocylindrical capsule

A spinless nonrelativistic quantum particle on the curved surface of a homogeneous spherocylindrical capsule is considered. We apply Costa's formalism to solve the Schrödinger equation with only a confined potential forcing the particle to remain on the surface and be free to move. It is shown that while a quantum particle with zero tangential/local energy can exist on the surface of a spherical shell with an arbitrary radius, it exists on a spherocylinder capsule only with a quantized length-to-radius ratio. In other words, if and only if the length-to-radius ratio of the capsule is an even multiplication of $π$, the wave function on the surface interferes with itself constructively such that the wave function survives. This hypothetical phenomenon may lead to applications in nanoscale measurements.

One-dimensional quantum scattering from multiple Dirac delta potentials: A Python-based solution

In this research, we present a Python-based solution designed to simulate a one-dimensional quantum system that incorporates multiple Dirac $δ-$% potentials. The primary aim of this research is to investigate the scattering problem within such a system. By developing this program, we can generate wave functions throughout the system and compute transmission and reflection amplitudes analytically and numerically for an infinite range of combinations involving potential strengths, potential separations, and the number of potential centers in the form of the Dirac $δ-$functions. Furthermore, by modifying the code, we investigate the so-called "transmission resonances" which yields the energy of the quantum particles undergoing a perfect transmission. Subsequently, our research is extended by considering impurities in the system.

Generic spherically symmetric thin-shell wormholes with equilibrium throat at the innermost photonsphere are unstable

In this research, we prove analytically that a generic spherically symmetric thin-shell wormhole (TSW) with its throat located at the innermost photonsphere of the bulk asymptotically flat black hole and supported by a generic surface barotropic perfect fluid is unstable against a radial linear perturbation. This is the generalization of the instability of the Schwarzschild TSW (STSW) with the throat's radius located at $a_{0}=3M$ that was revealed by Poisson and Visser in their seminal work \cite{Poisson1995} where they studied the mechanical stability of STSW. Our proof provides a link between the instability of the null circular geodesics on the innermost photonsphere of a generic static spherically symmetric asymptotically black hole and the TSW constructed in the same bulk with $a_{0}=r_{c}$ where $% a_{0} $ and $r_{c}$ are the radius of the TSW and the innermost photonsphere, respectively. For asymptotically flat spherically symmetric black holes possessing more than one photonspheres, the number of the photonspheres is odd and at least one photonsphere is stable which implies the corresponding TSW with its throat identical with the stable photonsphere is also stable.

Nonspherically-symmetric black hole in Einstein-massless scalar theory

We introduce a two-parameter static, nonspherically-symmetric black hole solution in the Einstein theory of gravity coupled with a massless scalar field. The scalar field depends only on the polar coordinate $θ$ in the spherical coordinates representation. The scalar invariant of the spacetime, namely, the Kretschmann scalar reveals that the black hole is singular on its axis of symmetry for all nonzero values of the scalar charge. It also manifests two surfaces of singularity for a certain interval of the value of the scalar charge. These singularities are hidden behind the event horizon's surface except the singularity on the axis which is naked. The energy-momentum of the scalar field satisfies all energy conditions. A simple investigation reveals that the circular orbit of massive and massless particles in the equatorial plane is identical to the Schwarzschild black hole.

Magnetic black hole in Einstein-Dilaton-Square root nonlinear electrodynamics

Starting from the most general action in Einstein-Dilaton-Nonlinear Electrodynamics (NED) theory, we obtain the field equations. We apply the field equations for the specific NED known as the Liouville type plus a cosmological constant and solve the field equations. With a pure magnetic field it is shown that the square root model is the strong field limit of the Born-Infeld NED theory. In static spherically symmetric spacetime and a magnetic monopole sitting at the origin, the field equations are exactly solvable provided the intergation constants of the solution and the theory constants appearing in the action are linked through two constraints. As it is known such an exact solution in the absence of dilaton i.e., gravity coupled to square root NED doesn't exist. Therefore, the presence of the dilaton gives additional freedom to solve the field equations. The obtained spacetime is singular and non-asymptotically flat and depending on the free parameters it may be a black hole or a cosmological object. For the black hole spacetime, we study the thermal stability of the spacetime and show that the black hole is thermally stable provided its size is larger than a critical value.

Causal structure and the geodesics in the hairy extension of the Bertotti-Robinson spacetime

A hairy extension of the Bertotti-Robinson regular spacetime has been recently introduced in the context of the Einstein-Maxwell-Scaler theory that surprisingly is a singular black hole formed in the $S_{3}$ background spatial topology [CQG39(2022)167001]. In this research, we first clarify the topology of the spacetime based on the coordinate transformations as well as the energy-momentum configuration and the causal structure of the black hole. Furthermore, we investigate the geodesics of the null and timelike particles in this spacetime. It is shown that in the radial motion on the equatorial plane, while photons may collapse to the singularity or escape to the edge of the universe, a massive particle always collapses to the singularity. The general geodesics of null and massive particles reveal that all particles except the outgoing light ray, eventually fall into the black hole.

Dirty black hole supported by a uniform electric field in Einstein-Nonlinear Electrodynamics-Dilaton theory

In this study, we present an exact dirty/hairy black hole solution in the context of gravity coupled minimally to a nonlinear electrodynamic (NED) and a Dilaton field. The NED model is known in the literature as the square-root (SR) model i.e., $\mathcal{L}\sim \sqrt{-\mathcal{F}}.$ The black hole solution which is supported by a uniform radial electric field and a singular Dilaton scalar field is non-asymptotically flat and singular with the singularity located at its center. An appropriate transformation results in an interesting line element $ds^{2}=-\left( 1-\frac{2M}{ρ^{η^{2}}} \right) ρ^{2\left( η^{2}-1\right) }dτ^{2}+\left( 1-\frac{2M}{ ρ^{η^{2}}}\right) ^{-1}dρ^{2}+\varkappa ^{2}ρ^{2}dΩ^{2} $ with two parameters - namely the mass $M$ and the Dilaton parameter $ η^{2}>1$ ($\varkappa ^{2}=\frac{1}{η^{2}}$) - which may be simply considered as the dirty Schwarzschild black hole. This is because with $η^{2}\rightarrow 1$ the spacetime reduces to the Schwarzschild black hole. We show that although the causal structure of the above spacetime is similar to the Schwarzschild black hole, it is thermally stable for $η^{2}>2$. Furthermore, the tidal force of this black hole behaves the same as a Schwarzschild black hole, however, its magnitude depends on $η^{2}$\ such that its minimum is not corresponding to $η^{2}=1$\ (Schwarzschild limit).

Quark-antiquark confinement and nonlinear electrodynamics

Cornell potential is known to represent the quark-antiquark confinement interaction. In addition to the Cornell potential, there have been other interactions in the literature that demonstrate confining structure in the quark-antiquark system. Guendelman has proposed a nonlinear electrodynamics (NED) model which results in electric potential in the form of Cornell interaction. In this study, we propose two NED models whose electric potential is in the form of two other confining potentials. We also study the coupling of gravity to one of these models which are in the form of a correction to linear Maxwell's theory. We find spacetime which can be a black hole or a naked singular particle. In the zeroth approximation, we examine the circular speed of a distant test particle orbiting the central black hole. The Newtonian potential due to the spacetime at the location of the distant particle possesses an additional term proportional to the NED parameter. Due to the presence of such a term, the speed-radius curve gets improved from the pure Reissner-Nordstrom. It is a kind of weaker confinement acting on distant parts of a galaxy due to a supermassive central black hole.

A Closed Universe: de Sitter Cosmic Gate

A new cosmological object in analogy with the concept of a wormhole in general relativity is introduced. As wormholes connect two distant points through a tunnel in spacetime, this new object connects two spacetime through a large mouth which is referred to as a "Cosmic Gate". In this context, two identical copies of the regular part of the de Sitter spacetime are cut through a timelike hyperplane. Then, they are glued at their identical boundaries (the only boundary) to form a complete spacetime. The stability of the cosmic gate against a linear radial perturbation is studied as well. Finally, the radial geodesics of the spacetime for a timelike and a null particle are presented.

Generalized probability and current densities: A Field theory

We introduce a generalized Lagrangian density - involving a non-Hermitian kinetic term - for a quantum particle with the generalized momentum operator. Upon variation of the Lagrangian, we obtain the corresponding Schrödinger equation. The extended probability and particle current densities are found which satisfy the continuity equation.
