A singular position-dependent mass particle in an infinite potential well

We consider an unusual singular position=dependent-mass particle in an infinite potential well. The corresponding Hamiltonian is mapped through a point-canonical-transformation and an explicit correspondence between the target Hamiltonian and a Poschl-Teller type reference Hamiltonian is obtained. New ordering ambiguity parametric setting are suggested.

Black Hole solutions in Einstein-Maxwell-Yang-Mills-Gauss-Bonnet Theory

We consider Maxwell and Yang-Mills (YM) fields together, interacting through gravity both in Einstein and Gauss-Bonnet (GB) theories. For this purpose we choose two different sets of Maxwell and metric ansaetze. In our first ansatz, asymptotically for $r\to 0$ (and $N>4$) the Maxwell field dominants over the YM field. In the other asymptotic region, $r\to \infty $, however, the YM field becomes dominant. For N=3 and N=4, where the GB term is absent, we recover the well-known Ba\U{f1}ados-Teitelboim-Zanelli (BTZ) and Reissner-Nordstr\U{f6}m (RN) metrics, respectively. The second ansatz corresponds to the case of constant radius function for $S^{N-2}$ part in the metric. This leads to the Bertotti-Robinson (BR) type solutions in the underlying theory.

New non-Abelian black hole solutions in Born-Infeld gravity

We introduce new black hole solutions to the Einstein-Yang-Mills-Born-Infeld (EYMBI), Einstein-Yang-Mills-Born-Infeld-Gauss-Bonnet (EYMBIGB) and Einstein-Yang-Mills-Born-Infeld-Gauss-Bonnet-Lovelock (EYMBIGBL) gravities in higher dimensions $N\geq 5$ to investigate the roles of Born-Infeld parameter $β$. It is shown that, these solutions in the limits of $β\to 0,$ and $β\to \infty ,$ represent pure gravity and gravity coupled with Yang-Mills fields, respectively. For $0<β<\infty $ it yields a variety of black holes, supporting even regular ones at $r=0$.

Hawking radiation for higher dimensional Einstein-Yang-Mills linear dilaton black holes

Recently, Hawking radiation from a $4-$dimensional linear dilaton black hole solution to Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton (EMD) theory, via a method of computing exactly the semi-classical radiation, has been derived by Cl\U{e9}ment, et al. Their results show that, whenever solution is available to the massless scalar wave equation, an exact computation of the radiation spectrum leads to the Hawking temperature $T_{H}$. We apply the same method to derive Hawking radiation spectrum for higher dimensional linear dilaton black holes in the Einstein-Yang-Mills-Dilaton (EYMD) and Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton (EMD) theories. Our results show that the radiation with high frequencies for these massive black holes reveal some remarkable information about the $T_{H}$.

Higher dimensional Yang-Mills black holes in third order Lovelock gravity

By employing the higher (N\TEXTsymbol{>}5) dimensional version of the Wu-Yang Ansatz we obtain magnetically charged new black hole solutions in the Einstein-Yang-Mills-Lovelock (EYML) theory with second ($α_{2}$) and third ($α_{3}$)order parameters. These parameters, where $α_{2}$ is also known as the Gauss-Bonnet parameter, modify the horizons (and the resulting thermodynamical properties) of the black holes. It is shown also that asymptotically ($r\to \infty $), these parameters contribute to an effective cosmological constant -without cosmological constant- so that the solution behaves de-Sitter (Anti de-Sitter) like.

A class of spherically-separable non-Hermitian PphiTphi-symmetric Hamiltonians

A family of spherical non-Hermitian potentials is studied. It is shown that the corresponding non-Hermitian Hamiltonians admit some "new" P$phi$T$phi$-symmetry. It is observed that whilst such P$phi$T$phi$-symmetric Hamiltonians just copy the eigenvalues of V(r), the corresponding wavefunctions would rather indulge some new probabilistic interpretations due to the change in the azimuthal part.

Spherical-separablility of non-Hermitian Dirac Hamiltonians and pseudo-PT-symmetry

A non-Hermitian P$_ϕ$T$_ϕ$-symmetrized spherically-separable Dirac Hamiltonian is considered. It is observed that the descendant Hamiltonians H$_{r}$, H$_θ$, and H$_ϕ$ play essential roles and offer some user-feriendly options as to which one (or ones) of them is (or are) non-Hermitian. Considering a P$_ϕ$T$_ϕ$-symmetrized H$_ϕ$, we have shown that the conventional relativistic energy eigenvalues are recoverable. We have also witnessed an unavoidable change in the azimuthal part of the general wavefunction. Moreover, setting a possible interaction $V(θ)$=0 in the descendant Hamiltonian H$_θ$ would manifest a change in the angular $θ$-dependent part of the general solution too. Whilst some P$_ϕ$T$_ϕ$-symmetrized H$_ϕ$ Hamiltonians are considered, a recipe to keep the regular magnetic quantum number m, as defined in the regular traditional Hermitian settings, is suggested. Hamiltonians possess properties similar to the PT-symmetric ones (here the non-Hermitian

Einstein-Yang-Mills black hole solution in higher dimensions by the Wu-Yang Ansatz

By employing the higher dimensional version of the Wu-Yang Ansatz we obtain black hole solutions in the spherically symmetric Einstein-Yang-Mills (EYM) theory. Although these solutions were found recently by other means, our method provides an alternative way in which one identifies the contribution from the Yang-Mills (YM) charge. Our method has the advantage to be carried out analytically as well. We discuss some interesting features of the black hole solutions obtained.

Non-Hermitian Hamiltonian versus E=0 localized states

We analyze the zero energy solutions, of a two dimensional system which undergoes a non-radial symmetric, complex potential V(r,$ϕ$). By virtue of the coherent states concept, the localized states are constructed, and the consequences of the imaginary part of the potential are found both analytically and schematically.

Non-Hermitian von Roos Hamiltonian's $η$-weak-pseudo-Hermiticity, isospectrality and exact solvability

A complexified von Roos Hamiltonian is considered and a Hermitian first-order intertwining differential operator is used to obtain the related position dependent mass $η$-weak-pseudo-Hermitian Hamiltonians. Using a Liouvillean-type change of variables, the $η$-weak-pseudo-Hermitian von Roos Hamiltonians H(x) are mapped into the traditional Schrodinger Hamiltonian form H(q), where exact isospectral correspondence between H(x) and H(q) is obtained. Under a user-friendly position dependent mass settings, it is observed that for each exactly-solvable $η$-weak-pseudo-Hermitian reference-Hamiltonian H(q)there is a set of exactly-solvable $η$-weak-pseudo-Hermitian isospectral target-Hamiltonians H(x). A non-Hermitian PT-symmetric Scarf II and a non-Hermitian periodic-type PT-symmetric Samsonov-Roy potentials are used as reference models and the corresponding $η$-weak-pseudo-Hermitian isospectral target-Hamiltonians are obtained.

$η$-weak-pseudo-Hermiticity generators and radially symmetric Hamiltonians

A class of spherically symmetric non-Hermitian Hamiltonians and their η-weak-pseudo-Hermiticity generators are presented. An operators-based procedure is introduced so that the results for the 1D Schrodinger Hamiltonian may very well be reproduced. A generalization beyond the nodeless states is proposed. Our illustrative examples include η-weak-pseudo-Hermiticity generators for the non-Hermitian weakly perturbed 1D and radial oscillators, the non-Hermitian perturbed radial Coulomb, and the non-Hermitian radial Morse models.

First-order intertwining operators with position dependent mass and $η$- weak-psuedo-Hermiticity generators

A Hermitian and an anti-Hermitian first-order intertwining operators are introduced and a class of $η$-weak-pseudo-Hermitian position-dependent mass (PDM) Hamiltonians are constructed. A corresponding reference-target $η$-weak-pseudo-Hermitian PDM -- Hamiltonians' map is suggested. Some $η$-weak-pseudo-Hermitian PT -symmetric Scarf II and periodic-type models are used as illustrative examples. Energy-levels crossing and flown-away states phenomena are reported for the resulting Scarf II spectrum. Some of the corresponding $η$-weak-pseudo-Hermitian Scarf II- and periodic-type-isospectral models (PT -symmetric and non-PT -symmetric) are given as products of the reference-target map.

(1+1)-Dirac particle with position-dependent mass in complexified Lorentz scalar interactions: effectively PT-symmetric

The effect of the built-in supersymmetric quantum mechanical language on the spectrum of the (1+1)-Dirac equation, with position-dependent mass (PDM) and complexified Lorentz scalar interactions, is re-emphasized. The signature of the "quasi-parity" on the Dirac particles' spectra is also studied. A Dirac particle with PDM and complexified scalar interactions of the form S(z)=S(x-ib) (an inversely linear plus linear, leading to a PT-symmetric oscillator model), and S(x)=S_{r}(x)+iS_{i}(x) (a PT-symmetric Scarf II model) are considered. Moreover, a first-order intertwining differential operator and an $η$-weak-pseudo-Hermiticity generator are presented and a complexified PT-symmetric periodic-type model is used as an illustrative example.

Comment on "Position-dependent effective mass Dirac equations with PT- symmetric and non - PT- symmetric potentials" [J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 39 (2006) 11877--11887]

Jia and Dutra (J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 39 (2006) 11877) have considered the one-dimensional non-Hermitian complexified potentials with real spectra in the context of position-dependent mass in Dirac equation. In their second example, a smooth step shape mass distribution is considered and a non-Hermitian non - PT- symmetric Lorentz vector potential is obtained. They have mapped this problem into an exactly solvable Rosen-Morse Schrodinger model and claimed that the energy spectrum is real. The energy spectrum they have reported is pure imaginary or at best forms an empty set. Their claim on the reality of the energy spectrum is fragile, therefore.

Ordering ambiguity revisited via position dependent mass pseudo-momentum operators

Ordering ambiguity associated with the von Roos position dependent mass (PDM) Hamiltonian is considered. An affine locally scaled first order differential introduced, in Eq.(9), as a PDM-pseudo-momentum operator. Upon intertwining our Hamiltonian, which is the sum of the square of this operator and the potential function, with the von Roos d-dimensional PDM-Hamiltonian, we observed that the so-called von Roos ambiguity parameters are strictly determined, but not necessarily unique. Our new ambiguity parameters' setting is subjected to Dutra's and Almeida's [11] reliability test and classified as good ordering.

Illustrative examples including; the harmonic oscillator, Coulomb, spiked harmonic, Kratzer, Morse oscillator, Poschl-Teller and Hulthen potentials are used as reference potentials to obtain exact energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions for target potentials at different position-dependent mass settings.
