Quantumness of hybrid systems under quantum noise

We investigate the quantum correlations in an axially symmetric hybrid qubit-qutrit system subjected to different noisy environments. We first introduce a physical model and analyze its Hamiltonian structure, emphasizing the role of hybrid dimensionality and axial symmetry. The effects of decoherence are then examined under two local noise mechanisms, namely dephasing and phase-flip channels, acting on the qubit and qutrit subsystems in both symmetric and asymmetric configurations. Quantum correlations are quantified using negativity to capture entanglement and quantum discord based on linear entropy to characterize more general nonclassical correlations. Our results show that both thermal fluctuations and phase noise lead to a monotonic degradation of quantum correlations, with increasing temperature accelerating coherence loss and inducing entanglement sudden death at finite temperatures. While negativity vanishes abruptly under sufficiently strong noise, quantum discord persists beyond the entanglement threshold, revealing residual quantum correlations in mixed states. We further demonstrate that asymmetric noise configurations significantly enhance the robustness of both entanglement and discord by partially shielding coherence in the less affected subsystem. A comparative analysis reveals that phase-flip noise is more destructive than pure dephasing, leading to faster suppression of quantum correlations.

Quantumness near a Schwarzschild black hole

The merging of quantum information science with the relativity theory presents novel opportunities for understanding the enigmas surrounding the transmission of information in relation to black holes. For this purpose, we study the quantumness near a Schwarzschild black hole in a practical model under decoherence. The scenario we consider in this paper is that a stationary particle in the flat region interacts with its surroundings while another particle experiences free fall in the vicinity of a Schwarzschild black hole's event horizon. We explore the impacts of Hawking radiation and decoherence on the system under investigation and find that these effects can limit the survival of quantum characteristics, but cannot destroy them completely. Hence, the results of this study possess the potential to yield valuable insights into the comprehension of the quantum properties of a real system operating within a curved space-time framework.

Thermal local quantum uncertainty in a two-qubit-superconducting system under decoherence

By considering the local quantum uncertainty (LQU) as a measure of quantum correlations, the thermal evolution of a two-qubit-superconducting system is investigated. We show that the thermal LQU can be increased by manipulating the Hamiltonian parameters such as the mutual coupling and Josephson energies, however, it undergoes sudden transitions at specific temperatures. Furthermore, a detailed analysis is presented regarding the impact of decohering channels on thermal LQU. This controllable LQU in engineering applications can disclose the advantage enabled in the superconducting charge qubits for designing quantum computers and quantum batteries.
