New physics for superluminal particles

In this paper, we consider the apparent superluminal speed of neutrinos in their travel from CERN to Gran Susso, as measured by the OPERA experiment, within the framework of the Extended Lorentz Transformation Model. The model is based on a natural extension of Lorentz transformation by wick rotation. Scalar and Dirac's fields are considered and invariance under the new lorentz group is discussed. Moreover, an extension of quantum mechanics to accommodate new particles is considered using the newly proposed Generalized-$\mathbb{C}$ quantum mechanics. A two dimensional representation of the new Dirac's equation is therefore formulated and its solution is calculated.

$g_{s}$-factor quenching with quantum statistics

We discuss the effect of quantum statistics on the $g_{s}$-factor quenching in nuclear medium. We have found that the two nucleon correlation function can be described by a Gaussian with correlation length $σ\sim1.2$ fm. An estimate of the M1 quenching strength is given. The effect of quantum statistics on the retardation of the paramagnetic susceptibility is also discussed.

POVM optimization of classical correlations

We study the problem of optimization over positive valued-operator measure to extract classical correlation in a bipartite quantum system. The proposed method is applied to binary states only. Moreover, to illustrate this method, an explicit example is studied in details.

Finite temperature quantum correlations in $SU(2)_c$ quark states and quantum spin models

The entanglement at finite temperatures are analyzed by using thermal models for colored quarks making up the hadron physical states. We have found that these quantum correlations entirely vanish at $T_c\geq m_q/\ln(1.5)$. For temperatures larger than $T_c$ the correlations are classical. Also we worked out the entanglement for the transverse Ising spin chain. In dependence on both temperature $T$ and transverse field $λ$ we can identify a certain region, where the quantum effects are likely to dominate the system. We suggest the mutual information as a quantitative measure for the correlations in ground state.

Effect of the unpolarized spin state in spin-correlation measurement of two protons produced in the 12C(d,2He) reaction

In this note we discuss the effect of the unpolarized state in the spin-correlation measurement of the $^1S_0$ two-proton state produced in 12C(d,2He) reaction at the KVI, Groningen. We show that in the presence of the unpolarized state the maximal violation of the CHSH-Bell inequality is lower than the classical limit if the purity of the state is less than $ \sim \verb+70%+$. In particular, for the KVI experiment the violation of the CHSH-Bell inequality should be corrected by a factor $\sim\verb+10%+$ from the pure $^1S_0$ state.

Polarization enhancement in $\vec{d}(\vec{p}$,$^2$He)n reaction: Nuclear teleportation

I show that an experimental technique used in nuclear physics may be successfully applied to quantum teleportation (QT) of spin states of massive matter. A new non-local physical effect the `quantum-teleportation-effect' is discovered for the nuclear polarization measurement. Enhancement of the neutron polarization is expected in the proposed experiment for QT that discriminates {\it only} one of the Bell states.

Testing quantum correlations with nuclear probes

We investigated the feasibility of quantum-correlation measurements in nuclear physics experiments. In a first approach, we measured spin correlations of singlet-spin (1S0) proton pairs, which were generated in 1H(d,2He) and 12C(d,2He) nuclear charge-exchange reactions. The experiment was optimized for a clean preparation of the 2He singlet state and offered a 2pi detection geometry for both protons in the exit channel. Our results confirm the effectiveness of the setup for theses studies, despite limitations of a small data sample recorded during the feasibility studies.

Distillable entanglement in $d\otimes d$ dimension

Distillable entanglement ($E_d$) is one of the acceptable measures of entanglement of mixed states. Based on discrimination through local operation and classical communication, this paper gives $E_d$ for two classes of orthogonal multipartite maximally entangled states.

Extracting Classical Correlations from a Bipartite Quantum System

In this paper we discuss the problem of splitting the total correlations for a bipartite quantum state described by the Von Neumann mutual information into classical and quantum parts. We propose a measure of the classical correlations as the difference between the Von Neumann mutual information and the relative entropy of entanglement. We compare this measure with different measures proposed in the literature.

QGP fireball explosion

We identify the major physics milestones in the development of strange hadrons as an observable for both the formation of quark-gluon plasma, and of the ensuing explosive disintegration of deconfined matter fireball formed in relativistic heavy ion collisions at 160--20A GeV. We describe the physical properties of QGP phase and show agreement with the expectations based on an analysis of hadron abundances. We than also demonstrate that the m_t shape of hadron spectra is in qualitative agreement with the sudden breakup of a supercooled QGP fireball.
