On Clifford-Algebraic "Holoraumy", Dimensional Extension, and SUSY Holography

We analyze the group of maximal automorphisms of the $N$-extended world-line supersymmetry algebra, and its action on off-shell supermultiplets. This defines a concept of "holoraumy" that extends the notions of holonomy and curvature in a novel way and provides information about the geometry of the supermultiplet field-space. In turn, the "holoraumy" transformations of 0-brane dimensionally reduced supermultiplets provide information about Lorentz transformations in the higher-dimensional spacetime from which the 0-brane supermultiplets are descended. Specifically, Spin(3) generators are encoded within 0-brane "holoraumy" tensors. World-line supermultiplets are thus able to holographically encrypt information about higher dimensional spacetime geometry.

Codes and Supersymmetry in One Dimension

Adinkras are diagrams that describe many useful supermultiplets in D=1 dimensions. We show that the topology of the Adinkra is uniquely determined by a doubly even code. Conversely, every doubly even code produces a possible topology of an Adinkra. A computation of doubly even codes results in an enumeration of these Adinkra topologies up to N=28, and for minimal supermultiplets, up to N=32.

On Dimensional Extension of Supersymmetry: From Worldlines to Worldsheets

There exist myriads of off-shell worldline supermultiplets for (N{\leq}32)-extended supersymmetry in which every supercharge maps a component field to precisely one other component field or its derivative. A subset of these extends to off-shell worldsheet (p,q)-supersymmetry and is characterized by the twin theorems 2.1 and 2.2 in this note. The evasion of the obstruction defined in these theorems is conjectured to be sufficient for a worldline supermultiplet to extend to worldsheet supersymmetry; it is also a necessary filter for dimensional extension to higher-dimensional spacetime. We show explicitly how to "re-engineer" an Adinkra---if permitted by the twin theorems 2.1 and 2.2---so as to depict an off-shell supermultiplet of worldsheet (p,q)-supersymmetry.

Chiral supergravity actions and superforms

The superform construction of supergravity actions, christened the "ectoplasm method," is based on the use of a closed super d-form in the case of d space-time dimensions. In known examples, such superforms are obtained by iteratively solving nontrivial cohomological problems. The latter usually makes this scheme no less laborious than the normal coordinate method for deriving component actions for matter-coupled supergravity. In this note we present an alternative procedure to generate required superforms in four space-time dimensions, which makes use of self-dual vector multiplets. It provides the shortest derivation of chiral actions in two different theories: (i) N = 1 old minimal supergravity; and (ii) N = 2 conformal supergravity. The N = 2 superform construction is developed here for the first time. Although our consideration is restricted to the case of four dimensions, a generalization to higher dimensions is plausible.

4D, N = 1 Supersymmetry Genomics (I)

Presented in this paper the nature of the supersymmetrical representation theory behind 4D, N = 1 theories, as described by component fields, is investigated using the tools of Adinkras and Garden Algebras. A survey of familiar matter multiplets using these techniques reveals they are described by two fundamental valise Adinkras that are given the names of the cis-Valise (c-V) and the trans-Valise (t-V). A conjecture is made that all off-shell 4D, N = 1 component descriptions of supermultiplets are associated with two integers - the numbers of c-V and t-V Adinkras that occur in the representation.

Adinkras for Clifford Algebras, and Worldline Supermultiplets

Adinkras are a graphical depiction of representations of the N-extended supersymmetry algebra in one dimension, on the worldline. These diagrams represent the component fields in a supermultiplet as vertices, and the action of the supersymmetry generators as edges. In a previous work, we showed that the chromotopology (topology with colors) of an Adinkra must come from a doubly even binary linear code. Herein, we relate Adinkras to Clifford algebras, and use this to construct, for every such code, a supermultiplet corresponding to that code. In this way, we correlate the well-known classification of representations of Clifford algebras to the classification of Adinkra chromotopologies.

Superspace Supervortices

We present the theory describing supersymmetrical vortices in the curved superspace of the (1,0) supergravity. The action is defined as a (1,0) locally supersymmetric $SU(2)/U(1)$ coset perturbed by the cosmological constant-like term. The perturbation is such that it preserves the integrability of the coset model. Because of supersymmetry the perturbed theory is an exact quantum system provided a proper dilaton is taken into account. The exact value of the dilaton is determined in the supersymmetric case by the quasi-classical background of the bosonic coset.
