Progress on Quantum Discord of Two Qubit states: Optimization and Upper Bound

Calculation of the quantum discord requires to find the minimum of the quantum conditional entropy $S(ρ^{AB}|\{Π^B_{k}\})$ over all measurements on the subsystem $B$. In this paper, we provide a simple relation for the conditional entropy as the difference of two Shannon entropies. The relation is suitable for calculation of the quantum discord in the sense that it can by used to obtain the quantum discord for some classes of two-qubit states, without the need for minimization. We also present an analytical procedure of optimization and obtain conditions under which the quantum conditional entropy of a general two-qubit state is stationary. The presented relation is also used to find a tight upper bound on the quantum discord.

Geometric Discord Of the Jaynes-Cummings Model: Pure Dephasing Regime

In this paper, the dynamical behaviour of the geometric discord of a system consisting of a two-level atom interacting with a quantised radiation field described by the Jaynes-Cummings model has been studied. The evolution of the system has been considered in the pure dephasing regime when the field is initially in a general pure state and the atom is initially in a mixed state. Dynamics of the geometric discord, as a measure of non-classical correlation, has been compared with the dynamics of negativity, as a measure of quantum entanglement. In particular, the influence of different parameters of system such as detuning and mixedness of the initial atomic state on the dynamics of geometric discord has been evaluated for when the field is initially in coherent and number states. It is shown that for asymptotically large times, the steady state geometric discord of the system presents a non-zero optimum value at some intermediate value of detuning.

Computable measure of the quantum correlation

A general state of an $m\otimes n$ system is a classical-quantum state if and only if its associated $A$-correlation matrix (a matrix constructed from the coherence vector of the party $A$, the correlation matrix of the state, and a function of the local coherence vector of the subsystem $B$), has rank no larger than $m-1$. Using the general Schatten $p$-norms, we quantify quantum correlation by measuring any violation of this condition. The required minimization can be carried out for the general $p$-norms and any function of the local coherence vector of the unmeasured subsystem, leading to a class of computable quantities which can be used to capture the quantumness of correlations due to the subsystem $A$. We introduce two special members of these quantifiers; The first one coincides with the tight lower bound on the geometric measure of discord, so that such lower bound fully captures the quantum correlation of a bipartite system. Accordingly, a vanishing tight lower bound on the geometric discord is a necessary and sufficient condition for a state to be zero-discord. The second quantifier has the property that it is invariant under a local and reversible operation performed on the unmeasured subsystem, so that it can be regarded as a computable well-defined measure of the quantum correlations. The approach presented in this paper provides a way to circumvent the problem with the geometric discord. We provide some examples to exemplify this measure.

Influence of Dephasing on the Entanglement Teleportation via a two-qubit Heisenberg XYZ system

The entanglement dynamics of an anisotropic two-qubit Heisenberg XYZ system in the presence of intrinsic decoherence is studied. The usefulness of such system for performance of the quantum teleportation protocol ${\cal T}_0$ and entanglement teleportation protocol ${\cal T}_1$ is also investigated. The results depend on the initial conditions and the parameters of the system. For the product and maximally entangled initial states, increasing the size of spin-orbit interaction parameter $D$ amplifies the effects of dephasing and hence decreases the asymptotic entanglement and fidelity of teleportation. We show that the XY and XYZ Heisenberg systems provide a minimal resource entanglement, required for realizing efficient teleportation. Also, we find that for the some special cases there are some maximally entangled states which are immune to intrinsic decoherence. Therefore, it is possible to perform the quantum teleportation protocol ${\cal T}_0$ and the entanglement teleportation ${\cal T}_1$ with perfect quality by choosing a proper set of parameters and employing one of these maximally entangled robust states as initial state of the resource.

Non-Equilibrium Thermal Entanglement Dynamics of Heisenberg Systems

The effects of initial conditions and system parameters on entanglement dynamics and asymptotic entanglement for a two-qubit anisotropic XY Heisenberg system in the presence of an inhomogeneous magnetic field and spin-orbit interaction are investigated. We suppose that each qubit interacts with a separate thermal reservoir which is held in its own temperature. The effects of the parameters of the system and environment like spin-orbit interaction and temperature difference of reservoirs are also discussed.

The effect of spin-orbit interaction on entanglement of two-qubit Heisenberg XYZ systems in an inhomogeneous magnetic field

The role of spin-orbit interaction on the ground state and thermal entanglement of a Heisenberg XYZ two-qubit system in the presence of an inhomogeneous magnetic field is investigated. For a certain value of spin-orbit parameter $D$, the ground state entanglement tends to vanish suddenly and when $D$ crosses its critical value $D_c$, the entanglement undergoes a revival. The maximum value of the entanglement occurs in the revival region. In finite temperatures there are revival regions in $D-T$ plane. In these regions, entanglement first increases with increasing temperature and then decreases and ultimately vanishes for temperatures above a critical value. This critical temperature is an increasing function of $D$, thus the nonzero entanglement can exist for larger temperatures. In addition, the amount of entanglement in the revival region depends on the spin-orbit parameter. Also, the entanglement teleportation via the quantum channel constructed by the above system is investigated and finally the influence of the spin-orbit interaction on the fidelity of teleportation and entanglement of replica state is studied.

Two-Photon Entanglement in a Two-Mode Supersymmetric Model

We will study entangled two-photon states generated from a two-mode supersymmetric model and quantify degree of entanglement in terms of the entropy of entanglement. The influences of the nonlinearity on the degree of entanglement is also examined, and it is shown that amount of entanglement increase with increasing the nonlinear coupling constant.
