Compact stars: a generalized model

This paper discusses a generalized model for compact stars, assumed to be anisotropic in nature due to the spherical symmetry and high density. After embedding the four-dimensional spacetime in a five-dimensional flat spacetime, which may be treated as an alternative to Karmarkar's condition of embedding class 1 spacetime, the Einstein field equations were solved by employing a class of physically acceptable metric functions proposed by Lake \cite{Lake2003}. The physical properties determined include the anisotropic factor showing that the anisotropy is zero at the center and maximal at the surface. Other boundary conditions yielded the values of various parameters needed for rendering the numerous plots and also led to the EOS parameters. It was further determined that the usual energy conditions are satisfied and that the compact structures are stable, based on several criteria, starting with the TOV equation. The calculation of the effective gravitational mass shows that the models satisfy the Buchdahl condition. Finally, the values of the numerous constants and physical parameters were determined specifically for the strange star LMCX-4. It is shown that the present generalized model can justify most off the compact stars including white dwarfs and ultra dense compact stars for a suitable tuning of the parametric values of $n$.

A generalized family of anisotropic compact object in general relativity

We present model for anisotropic compact star under the general theory of relativity of Einstein. In the study a 4-dimensional spacetime has been considered which is embedded into the 5-dimensional flat metric so that the spherically symmetric metric has class 1 when the condition $e^λ=\left(\,1+C\,e^ν \,{ν'}^2\,\right)$ is satisfied ($λ$ and $ν$ being the metric potentials along with a constant $C$). A set of solutions for the field equations are found depending on the index $n$ involved in the physical parameters. The interior solutions have been matched smoothly at the boundary of the spherical distribution to the exterior Schwarzschild solution which necessarily provides values of the unknown constants. We have chosen the values of $n$ as $n=2$ and $n$=10 to 20000 for which interesting and physically viable results can be found out. The numerical values of the parameters and arbitrary constants for different compact stars are assumed in the graphical plots and tables as follows: (i) LMC X-4 : $a=0.0075$, $b=0.000821$ for $n=2$ and $a=0.0075$, $nb=0.00164$ for $n\ge 10$, (ii) SMC X-1: $a=0.00681$, $b=0.00078$ for $n=2$, and $a=0.00681$, $nb=0.00159$ for $n \ge 10$. The investigations on the physical features of the model include several astrophysical issues, like (i) regularity behavior of stars at the centre, (ii) well behaved condition for velocity of sound, (iii) energy conditions, (iv) stabilty of the system via the following three techniques - adiabatic index, Herrera cracking concept and TOV equation, (v) total mass, effective mass and compactification factor and (vi) surface redshift. Specific numerical values of the compact star candidates LMC X-4 and SMC X-1 are calculated for central and surface densities as well as central pressure to compare the model value with actual observational data.

Role of pressure anisotropy on relativistic compact stars

We investigate a compact spherically symmetric relativistic body with anisotropic particle pressure profiles. The distribution possesses characteristics relevant to modeling compact stars within the framework of general relativity. For this purpose, we consider a spatial metric potential of Korkina and Orlyanskii [Ukr. Phys. J. 36, 885 (1991)] type in order to solve the Einstein field equations. An additional prescription we make is that the pressure anisotropy parameter takes the functional form proposed by Lake [Phys. Rev. D 67, 104015 (2003)]. Specifying these two geometric quantities allows for further analysis to be carried out in determining unknown constants and obtaining a limit of the mass-radius diagram, which adequately describes compact strange star candidates like Her X-1 and SMC X-1. Using the anisotropic Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equations, we explore the hydrostatic equilibrium and the stability of such compact objects. Then, we investigate other physical features of this models, such as the energy conditions, speeds of sound and compactness of the star in detail and show that our results satisfy all the required elementary conditions for a physically acceptable stellar model. The results obtained are useful in analyzing the stability of other anisotropic compact objects like white dwarfs, neutron stars, and gravastars.

Charged Vaidya-Tikekar model for super compact star

In this work, we explore a class of compact charged spheres that have been tested against experimental and observational constraints with some known compact stars candidates. The study is performed by considering the self-gravitating, charged, isotropic fluids which is more pliability in solving the Einstein-Maxwell equations. In order to determine the interior geometry, we utilize the Vaidya-Tikekar geometry for the metric potential with Riessner-Nordstrom metric as an exterior solution. In this models, we determine constants after selecting some particular values of M and R, for the compact objects SAX J1808.4-3658, Her X-1 and 4U 1538-52. The most striking consequence is that hydrostatic equilibrium is maintained for different forces, and the situation is clarified by using the generalized Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff (TOV) equation. In addition to this, we also present the energy conditions, speeds of sound and compactness of stars that are very much compatible to that for a physically acceptable stellar model. Arising solutions are also compared with graphical representations that provide strong evidences for more realistic and viable models, both at theoretical and astrophysical scale.

Compact stars with specific mass function

Aims: In the present work we search for a new model of compact star within embedding class one spacetime i.e., four dimensional spacetime embedded in five dimensional Pseudo Euclidean space. Methods: In particular we propose a new mass function to obtain an exact analytic solutions of the Einstein field equations. For this specific? mass function, obtained solutions are well-behaved at the centre of the star, satisfy all energy conditions and the mass-radius relation fall within the limit proposed by Buchdahl [1]. Results: The static equilibrium condition has been maintained under different forces. We have discussed the solutions in detail and compare with a set of astrophysical objects like 4U1608-52, PSR J1903+327, PSR J1614-2230 and X-ray pulsar Vela X-1 is also explored.

A family of charged compact objects with anisotropic pressure

Utilizing an ansatz developed by Maurya and co-workers we present a class of exact solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell field equations describing a spherically symmetric compact object. A detailed physical analysis of these solutions in terms of stability, compactness and regularity indicate that these solutions may be used to model strange star candidates. In particular, we model the strange star candidate Her X-1 and show that our solution conforms to observational data to an excellent degree of accuracy. An interesting and novel phenomenon which arises in this model is the fact that the relative difference between the electromagnetic force and the force due to pressure anisotropy changes sign within the stellar interior. This may be a an additional mechanism required for stability against cracking of the stellar object.

All spherically symmetric charged anisotropic solutions for compact star

In the present paper we develop an algorithm for all spherically symmetric anisotropic charged fluid distribution. Considering a new source function $ν(r)$ we find out a set of solutions which is physically well behaved and represent compact stellar models. A detailed study specifically shows that the models actually correspond to strange stars in terms of their mass and radius. In this connection we investigate about several physical properties like energy conditions, stability, mass-radius ratio, electric charge content, anisotropic nature and surface redshift through graphical plots and mathematical calculations. All the features from these studies are in excellent agreement with the already available evidences in theory as well as observations.

Exact solution of anisotropic compact stars via. mass function

The interest in studying relativistic compact objects play an important role in modern astrophysics with an aim to understand several astrophysical issues. It is therefore natural to ask for internal structure and physical properties of specific classes of compact star for astrophysical observable, and we obtain a class of new relativistic solutions with anisotropic distribution of matter for compact stars. More specifically, stellar models, described by the anisotropic fluid, establish a relation between metric potentials and generating a specific form of mass function are explicitly constructed within the framework of General Relativity. New solutions that can be used to model compact objects which adequately describe compact strange star candidates like SMC X-1, Her X-1 and 4U 1538-52, with observational data taken from Gangopadhyay et al. [1]. As a possible astrophysical application the obtained solution could explain the physics of self-gravitating objects, might be useful for strong-field regimes where data are currently inadequate.

Anisotropic stars for spherically symmetric spacetimes satisfying the Karmarkar condition

A new class of solution describing an anisotropic stellar configuration satisfying Karmarkar's condition i.e. spherically symmetric metric of embedding class 1, is reported. It has been shown that the compact star model is physically well-behaved and meet all the physical requirements for a stable configuration in hydrostatic equilibrium. Our model describes compact stars like Vela X-1 and 4U1608-52 to a very good approximation.

Modeling of charged anisotropic compact stars in general relativity

A charged compact star models have been determined for anisotropic fluid distribution. We have solved the Einstein's- Maxwell field equations to construct the charged compact star models by using radial pressure, metric function $e^λ$ and electric charge function. The generic charged anisotropic solution is verified by exploring different physical conditions like, causality condition, mass-radius relation and stability of the solution (via. adiabatic index, TOV equations and Herrera cracking concept). It is observed that the present charged anisotropic compact star is compatible with the star PSR 1937+21. However we also presented the EOS $ρ=f(p)$ for present charged compact star model.

Generating physically realizable stellar structures via embedding

In this work we present an exact solution of the Einstein-Maxwell field equations describing compact, charged objects within the framework of classical general relativity. Our model is constructed by embedding a four-dimensional spherically symmetric static metric into a five dimensional flat metric. The source term for the matter field is composed of a perfect fluid distribution with charge. We show that our model obeys all the physical requirements and stability conditions necessary for a realistic stellar model. Our theoretical model approximates observations of neutron stars and pulsars to a very good degree of accuracy.

Anisotropic fluid spheres of embedding class one using Karmarkar condition

We obtain a new anisotropic solution for spherically symmetric spacetimes by analysing of the Karmarkar embedding condition. For this purpose we construct a suitable form of one of the gravitational potentials to obtain a closed form solution. This form of the remaining gravitational potential allows us to solve the embedding equation and integrate the field equations. The resulting new anisotropic solution is well behaved which can be utilized to construct realistic static fluid spheres. Also we estimated masses and radii of fluid spheres for LMC X-4 and EXO 1785-248 by using observational data sets values. The obtained masses and radii show that our anisotropic solution can represent fluid spheres to a very good degree of accuracy.

Modelling of anisotropic compact stars of emebedding class one

In the present article, we have constructed static anisotropic compact star models of Einstein field equations for the spherical symmetric metric of embedding class one. By assuming the particular form of metric function $ν$, We have solved the Einstein field equations for anisotropic matter distribution. The anisotropic models are representing the realistic compact objects such as SAX J 1808.4-3658 (SS1), Her X - 1, Vela X-12, PSR J1614-2230 and Cen X - 3. We have reported our results in details for compact star Her X-1 on the ground of physical properties such as pressure, density, velocity of sound, energy conditions, TOV equation and red-shift etc. Along with these, we have also discussed about stability of the compact star models. Finally we made the comparison between our anisotropic stars with the realistic objects on the key aspects as central density, central pressure, compactness and surface red-shift.

A new exact solution for anisotropic compact stars of embedding class one

We have presented a new anisotropic solution of Einstein's field equations for compact star models. The Einstein's field equations are solved by using the class one condition \cite{1}. After that we constructed the physically valid expression of anisotropy factor by the help of metric potentials and there after we obtained the physical parameters like energy density, radial and transverse pressure. These models parameters are well behaved inside the compact star and satisfy all the required physical conditions. Also we observed a very interesting result that all the physical parameters are depend on the anisotropy factor. The present compact star models are quite compatible with the observational astrophysical compact stellar objects like Her X-1, RXJ 1856-37, SAX J1808.4-3658(SS1), SAX J1808.4-3658(SS2)

Generalized model for anisotropic compact stars

In the present investigation an exact generalized model for anisotropic compact stars of embedding class one is sought for under general relativistic background. The generic solutions are verified by exploring different physical aspects, viz. energy conditions, mass-radius relation, stability of the models, in connection to their validity. It is observed that the model present here for compact stars is compatible with all these physical tests and thus physically acceptable as far as the compact star candidates $RXJ~1856-37$, $SAX~J~1808.4-3658~(SS1)$ and $SAX~J~1808.4-3658~(SS2)$ are concerned.

A new model for spherically symmetric charged compact stars of embedding class one

In the present study we search for a new stellar model with spherically symmetric matter and charged distribution under general relativistic framework. The model represents a compact star of embedding class one. The solutions obtain here are general in their nature having the following two features: firstly, the metric becomes flat and also the expressions for the pressure, energy density and electric charge become zero in all the cases if we consider the constant $A=0$, which shows that our solutions represent the so-called `electromagnetic mass model' \cite{Lorentz1904}, and secondly, the metric function $ν(r)$, for the limit $n$ tends to infinity, converts to $ν(r)=C{r}^{2}+ ln~B$, which is the same as considered by Maurya et al. \cite{Maurya2015a}. We have investigated several physical aspects of the model and find that all the features are acceptable within the demand of the contemporary theoretical studies and observational evidences.

A new model for spherically symmetric anisotropic compact star

In this article we obtain a new anisotropic solution for Einstein's field equation of embedding class one metric. The solution is representing the realistic objects such as $Her~X-1$ and $RXJ~1856-37$. We perform detailed investigation of both objects by solving numerically the Einstein field equations under with anisotropic pressure. The physical features of the parameters depend on the anisotropic factor i.e. if anisotropy is zero everywhere inside the star then the density and pressures will become zero and metric turns out to be flat. We report our results and compare with the above mentioned two compact objects on a number of key aspects: the central density, the surface density onset and the critical scaling behavior, the effective mass and radius ratio, the anisotropization with isotropic initial conditions, adiabatic index and red shift. Along with this we have also made a comparison between the classical limit and theoretical model treatment of the compact objects. Finally we discuss the implications of our findings for the stability condition in relativistic compact star.

Generalized relativistic anisotropic models for compact stars

We present new anisotropic generalization of Buchdahl [1] type perfect fluid solution by using the method of earlier work [2]. In similar approach we have constructed the new pressure anisotropy factor $Δ$ by the help both the metric potential $e^λ$ and $e^ν$. The metric potential $e^λ$ same as Buchdahl [1] and $e^ν$ is monotonic increasing function as suggested by Lake [3]. After that we obtain new well behaved general solution for anisotropic fluid distribution. We calculated the physical quantities like energy density, radial and tangential pressures, velocity of sound and red-shift etc. We observe that these quantities are positive and finite inside the compact star. Also note that mass and radius of our models can represent the structure of realistic astrophysical objects such as like Her X-1 and RXJ1856-37.
