Condensate, Bianchi Identities and Chromomagnetic Fields Degeneracy in SU(2) YM Theory

We consider the non-Abelian Bianchi identities in SU(2) pure Yang-Mills theory in D=3,4 focusing on the possibility of their violation and the significance of the chromomagnetic fields degeneracy points. We show that the recently proposed non-Abelian Stokes theorem allows to formulate the Bianchi identities in terms of the physical fluxes and their relative color orientations. Then the violation of Bianchi identities becomes a well defined concept ultimately related to the degeneracy points. The locality and gauge invariance of our approach allows to study the problem numerically. We present evidences that in D=4 the suppression of the Bianchi identities violation is likely to destroy confinement while the removal of the degeneracy points drives the theory to the topologically non-trivial sector. However, confronting the results obtained in three and four dimensions we argue that it is the mass dimension two condensate which probably explains our findings.

Two Dimensional Atomic Crystals

We report free-standing atomic crystals that are strictly 2D and can be viewed as individual atomic planes pulled out of bulk crystals or as unrolled single-wall nanotubes. By using micromechanical cleavage, we have prepared and studied a variety of 2D crystals, including single layers of boron nitride, graphite, several dichalcogenides and complex oxides. These atomically-thin sheets (essentially gigantic 2D molecules unprotected from the immediate environment) are stable under ambient conditions, exhibit high crystal quality and are continuous on a macroscopic scale.

Ultraviolet Behavior of the Gluon Propagator in the Maximal Abelian Gauge

The ultraviolet asymptotic behavior of the gluon propagator is evaluated in the maximal Abelian gauge in the SU(2) gauge theory on the basis of the renormalization-group improved perturbation theory at the one-loop level. Square-root singularities obtained in the Euclidean domain are attributed to artifacts of the one-loop approximation in the maximal Abelian gauge and the standard normalization condition for the propagator used in our study. It is argued that this gauge is essentially nonperturbative.

Finite temperature QCD with two flavors of dynamical quarks on 24^3*10 lattice

We present results obtained in QCD with two flavors of non-perturbatively improved Wilson fermions at finite temperature on $16^3 \times 8$ and $24^3 \times 10$ lattices. We determine the transition temperature in the range of quark masses $0.6<m_π/m_ρ<0.8$ at lattice spacing a$\approx$0.1 fm and extrapolate the transition temperature to the continuum and to the chiral limits.

Abelian dominance and gluon propagators in the Maximally Abelian gauge of SU(2) lattice gauge theory

Propagators of the diagonal and the off-diagonal gluons are studied numerically in the Maximal Abelian gauge of SU(2) lattice gauge theory. It is found that in the infrared region the propagator of the diagonal gluon is strongly enhanced in comparison with the off--diagonal one. The enhancement factor is about 50 at our smallest momentum 325 MeV. We have also applied various fits to the propagator formfactors.

Numerical study of gluon propagators in Maximally Abelian gauge

Propagators of diagonal and off-diagonal gluons are studied numerically in the Maximally Abelian gauge of the SU(2) lattice gauge theory. We have found the strong enhancement of the diagonal gluon in the infrared region. The enhancement factor is about 50 at the smallest available momentum, 325 MeV. We discuss also various analytical fits to the propagators.

Gluon propagators in maximal abelian gauge of SU(2) lattice gauge theory

We study propagators of diagonal and off-diagonal gluons in the momentum space in maximal abelian gauge of SU(2) lattice gauge theory. Remaining U(1) degrees of freedom are fixed using Landau gauge. We find substantial difference between the propagator of the diagonal and the off-diagonal gluon in the infrared region. The propagator of the off-diagonal gluon is suppressed in comparison with that of the diagonal gluon at small momenta. In the ultraviolet region both propagators behave as in nonabelian Landau gauge.

Monopoles and hybrids in Abelian projection of lattice QCD

We study topological defects constructed from diagonal and non-diagonal gluons in Abelian projection of zero temperature lattice QCD. We compare results obtained in the quenched and non-quenched vacuum field configurations and show that the density of hybrids is higher than the density of monopoles. The density of some hybrids is sensitive to the presence of the virtual fermions.
