Stochastic p-Bits Based on Spin-Orbit Torque Magnetic Tunnel Junctions

Stochastic p-Bit devices play a pivotal role in solving NP-hard problems, neural network computing, and hardware accelerators for algorithms such as the simulated annealing. In this work, we focus on Stochastic p-Bits based on high-barrier magnetic tunnel junctions (HB-MTJs) with identical stack structure and cell geometry, but employing different spin-orbit torque (SOT) switching schemes. We conducted a comparative study of their switching probability as a function of pulse amplitude and width of the applied voltage. Through experimental and theoretical investigations, we have observed that the Y-type SOT-MTJs exhibit the gentlest dependence of the switching probability on the external voltage. This characteristic indicates superior tunability in randomness and enhanced robustness against external disturbances when Y-type SOT-MTJs are employed as stochastic p-Bits. Furthermore, the random numbers generated by these Y-type SOT-MTJs, following XOR pretreatment, have successfully passed the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP800-22 test. This comprehensive study demonstrates the high performance and immense potential of Y-type SOT-MTJs for the implementation of stochastic p-Bits.

Unusual competition of superconductivity and charge-density-wave state in a compressed topological kagome metal

Understanding the competition between superconductivity and other ordered states (such as antiferromagnetic or charge-density-wave (CDW) state) is a central issue in condensed matter physics. The recently discovered layered kagome metal AV3Sb5 (A = K, Rb, and Cs) provides us a new playground to study the interplay of superconductivity and CDW state by involving nontrivial topology of band structures. Here, we conduct high-pressure electrical transport and magnetic susceptibility measurements to study CsV3Sb5 with the highest Tc of 2.7 K in AV3Sb5 family. While the CDW transition is monotonically suppressed by pressure, superconductivity is enhanced with increasing pressure up to P1~0.7 GPa, then an unexpected suppression on superconductivity happens until pressure around 1.1 GPa, after that, Tc is enhanced with increasing pressure again. The CDW is completely suppressed at a critical pressure P2~2 GPa together with a maximum Tc of about 8 K. In contrast to a common dome-like behavior, the pressure-dependent Tc shows an unexpected double-peak behavior. The unusual suppression of Tc at P1 is concomitant with the rapidly damping of quantum oscillations, sudden enhancement of the residual resistivity and rapid decrease of magnetoresistance. Our discoveries indicate an unusual competition between superconductivity and CDW state in pressurized kagome lattice.

Real time state monitoring and fault diagnosis system for motor based on LabVIEW

Motor is the most widely used production equipment in industrial field. In order to realize the real-time state monitoring and multi-fault pre-diagnosis of three-phase motor, this paper presents a design of three-phase motor state monitoring and fault diagnosis system based on LabVIEW. The multi-dimensional vibration acceleration, rotational speed, temperature, current and voltage signals of the motor are collected with NI cDAQ acquisition equipment in real time and high speed. At the same time, the model of motor health state and fault state is established. The order analysis algorithm is used to analyze the data at an advanced level, and the diagnosis and classification of different fault types are realized. The system is equipped with multi-channel acquisition, display, analysis and storage. Combined with the current cloud transmission technology, we will back up the data to the cloud to be used by other terminals.

Automatic data analysis for Sky Brightness Monitor

The Sky Brightness Monitor (SBM) is an important instrument to measure the brightness level for the sky condition, which is a critical parameter for judging a site for solar coronal observations. In this paper we present an automatic method for the processing of SBM data in large quantity, which can separate the regions of the Sun and the nearby sky as well as recognize the regions of the supporting arms in the field of view. These processes are implemented on the data acquired by more than one SBM instruments during our site survey project in western China. An analysis applying the result from our processes has been done for the assessment of the scattered-light levels by the instrument. Those results are considerably significant for further investigations and studies, notably to derive a series of the other important atmospheric parameters such as extinctions, aerosol content and precipitable water vapor content for candidate sites. Our processes also provide a possible way for full-disk solar telescopes to track the Sun without an extra guiding system.

Electron-acoustic_solitary_structures_in_two-electron-temperature_plasma_with_superthermal_electrons

The propagation of nonlinear electron- acoustic waves (EAWs) in an unmagnetized collision- less plasma system consisting of a cold electron fluid, superthermal hot electrons and stationary ions is investigated. A reductive perturbation method is employed to obtain a modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equa- tion for the first-order potential. The small amplitude electron-acoustic solitary wave, e.g., soliton and dou- ble layer (DL) solutions are presented, and the effects of superthermal electrons on the nature of the solitons are also discussed. But the results shows that the weak stationary EA DLs cannot be supported by the present model.

Cerenkov Emission by Neutral Particles in Gravitoelectro-magnetic Fields

It is shown that under the post-Newtonian approximation the Einstein equations can be reduced to the standard Maxwell-type field equations in a medium; in such a context the Cerenkov emission by a neutralparticle gives large energy loss while the particle moves at faster than the phase speed of waves in the medium.

Nonlinear Interactions of Gravitational Wave with Matter in Magnetic-type Maxwell-Vlasov Description

The interactions of gravitational waves with interstellar matter, dealing with resonant wave-particle and wave-wave interactions, are considered on the basis of magnetic-type Maxwell-Vlasov equations. It is found that the behavior of the fields, involving the "gravitoelectromagnetic" or "GEM " fields, the perturbed density field and self-generated gravitomagnetic field with low frequency, can be described by the nonlinear coupling equations Eqs. (6.10)-(6.12). Numerical results show that they may collapse. In other words, due to self-condensing, a stronger GME fields could be produced; and they could appear as the gravitational waves with high energy reaching on Earth. In this case, Weber's results, perhaps, are acceptable.
