A new recursive spectral Tau method on system of generalized Abel-Volterra integral equations

This paper provides an efficient recursive approach of the spectral Tau method to approximate the solution of system of generalized Abel-Volterra integral equations. In this regards, we first investigate the existence, uniqueness as well as smoothness of the solutions under assumption on the given data. Next, from a numerical perspective, we express approximated solution as a linear combination of suitable canonical polynomials which are constructed by an easy to use recursive formula. Mostly, the unknown parameters are calculated by solving a low dimensional algebraic systems independent of degree of approximation which prevent from high computational costs. Obviously, due to singular behavior of the exact solutions, using classical polynomials to construct canonical polynomials, leads to low accuracy results. In this regards, we develop a new fractional order canonical polynomials using Müntz-Legendre polynomials which have a same asymptotic behavior with the solution of underlying problem. The convergence analysis is discussed, and the familiar spectral accuracy is achieved in $L^{\infty}$ norm. Finally, the reliability of the method is evaluated using various problems.

The period ratio P_1/P_2 of torsional Alfvén waves with steady flows in spicules

The aim here is to model the standing torsional oscillations in solar spicules in the presence of density stratification, magnetic field expansion, and steady flows. By implementing cylindrical geometry, the eigenfrequencies, eigenfunctions, and the period ratio P_1/P_2 of these waves is obtained for finite plasma-beta. The shifts created by the steady flow justifies the divergence of the observed period ratio for the first and second periods from the number 2.

Quantum stabilizer codes from Abelian and non-Abelian groups association schemes

A new method for the construction of the binary quantum stabilizer codes is provided, where the construction is based on Abelian and non-Abelian groups association schemes. The association schemes based on non-Abelian groups are constructed by bases for the regular representation from U6n, T4n, V8n and dihedral D2n groups. By using Abelian group association schemes followed by cyclic groups and non-Abelian group association schemes a list of binary stabilizer codes up to 40 qubits is given in tables 4, 5, and 10. Moreover, several binary stabilizer codes of distances 5 and 7 with good quantum parameters is presented. The preference of this method specially for Abelian group association schemes is that one can construct any binary quantum stabilizer code with any distance by using the commutative structure of association schemes

Multistep collocation methods for weakly singular Volterra integral equations with application to fractional differential equations

We discuss the application of multistep collocation methods to Volterra integral equations which contain a weakly singular kernel $(t-\tau)^{\alpha-1}$ with $0 <\alpha <1.$ Convergence orders of the methods are determined and their superconvergence is also analyzed. The paper closes with numerical examples and application to fractional differential equations.
