Theory of Multi-gap Superfluidity Based on Fermi-liquid Approach

Superfluid-to-superfluid phase transitions in a Fermi-liquid leading to the emergence of two-gap superfluid states have been studied. There are considered the systems of fermions of one and two (nuclear matter) sorts. The self-consistent equations describing new two-gap superfluid states have been obtained. These equations differ essentially from the equations of the BCS theory. The solutions of the self-consistent equations corresponding to one-gap and two-gap superfluid states have been found.

Multi-gap superfluidity in nuclear matter

It is shown that under lowering density or temperature a nucleon Fermi superfluid can undergo a phase transition to a new superfluid state corresponding to superposition of states with singlet-triplet (ST) and triplet-singlet (TS) pairing of nucleons (in spin and isospin spaces). Such states arise as a result of branching from one-gap solution of the self-consistent equations, describing ST pairing of nucleons. The density and temperature dependence of the order parameters for new two-gap solutions is determined in the model with Skyrme effective forces.

On a Theory of Superfluidity of Asymmetric Nuclear Matter

Influence of asymmetry on superfluidity of nuclear matter with triplet-singlet pairing of nucleons (in spin and isospin spaces) is considered within the framework of a Fermi-liquid theory. Solutions of self-consistent equations for the critical temperature and the energy gap at T=0 are obtained. It is shown, that the backward influence of pairing correlations through the normal distribution functions of nucleons leads to the qualitative change: instead of two-valued behavior the energy gap has universal one-valued behavior. At T=0 superfluidity arises as a result of a first order phase transition in density.
