A Foray on SCFT$_3$ via Super Spinor-Helicity and Grassmann Twistor Variables

In this paper, we develop a momentum super space formalism for $\mathcal{N}=1,2$ superconformal field theories in three dimensions. First, we solve for super-correlators in the usual momentum superspace variables. However, we found that expressing quantities in super space spinor helicity variables greatly simplifies the analysis. Further, by performing a "half" Fourier transform of the Grassmann coordinates which is analogous to the Twistor transform, an even more remarkable simplification occurs. Using these formalism, we first compute all three point correlation functions involving conserved super-currents with arbitrary spins in $\mathcal{N}=1,2$ theories. We discover interesting double copy relations in $\mathcal{N}=1$ super-correlators. Also, we discovered super double copy relations that take us from $\mathcal{N}=1$ to $\mathcal{N}=2$ super-correlators. We also comment on the connection of our results with the flat space super amplitudes in one higher dimension.

Statistical Correlators and Tripartite Entanglement

It has recently been argued that among the various suggested measures of tripartite entanglement, the two particular measures, viz. the Concurrence Fill and the Genuine Multipartite Concurrence are the only 'genuine' tripartite entanglement measures based on certain suitably specified criteria. In this context, we show that these two genuine tripartite entanglement measures can be empirically determined for the two important classes of tripartite entangled states, viz. the generalized GHZ and the generalized W states using the derived relationships of these two measures with the observable statistical correlators like the Pearson correlator and mutual information. Such a formulated scheme would therefore provide for the first time the means to exactly quantify tripartite entanglement, crucial for the proper assessment of its efficacy as resource. We also point out two specific applications of this scheme, viz. a) Enabling empirical demonstration of the potentially significant feature of inequivalence between Concurrence Fill and Genuine Multipartite Concurrence in quantitatively assessing which of the two given tripartite states is more entangled than the other one. b) Enabling experimental detection of the recently predicted phenomenon of entanglement sudden death for a tripartite system.

A Spin on the Bulk Locality of Slightly Broken Higher Spin Theories

In this paper, we investigate if it is possible to express correlation functions in Large N Chern-Simons (CS) matter theories/ Slightly Broken Higher Spin (SBHS) theories purely in terms of single trace twist conformal blocks (TCBs). For this, we first develop the machinery for spinning TCBs. We do this both by explicitly solving the spinning TCB eigenvalue equation taking into account consistency with the operator product expansion (OPE) and crossing symmetry, and also by employing weight shifting and spin raising operators and acting with them on scalar seeds. Using these results we show that spinning correlators in theories with exact higher spin symmetry can be entirely expressed in terms of single trace TCBs. However, when the higher spin symmetry is slightly broken at large- N, even though the scalar four-point function is given by single-trace TCBs, the spinning correlators in general, are not. Our results suggest that it may be possible to identify a sub-sector of SBHS theory which has a local bulk dual.

Modified quantum regression theorem and consistency with Kubo-Martin-Schwinger condition

We show that the long-time limit of the two-point correlation function obtained via the standard quantum regression theorem, a standard tool to compute correlation functions in open quantum systems, does not respect the Kubo-Martin-Schwinger equilibrium condition to the non-zero order of the system-bath coupling. We then follow the recently developed Heisenberg operator method for open quantum systems and by applying a ``{\it weak}" Markov approximation, derive a new modified version of the quantum regression theorem that not only respects the KMS condition but further predicts exact answers for certain paradigmatic models in specific limits. We also show that in cases where the modified quantum regression theorem does not match with exact answers, it always performs better than the standard quantum regression theorem.

Anyonic correlation functions in Chern-Simons matter theories

Using a novel relation between the parity even and odd parts of a correlator, we show that the 3-point function of conserved or weakly broken currents in 3d CFT can be obtained from just the free fermion (FF) or the free boson (FB) theory. In the special case of large $N$ Chern-Simons matter theories, we obtain the correlator in terms of a coupling constant dependent ``anyonic phase" factor. This anyonic phase factor was previously obtained in the $2\rightarrow 2$ exact S-matrix result and is consistent with strong-weak duality. By varying the coupling constant the CFT correlator interpolates nicely between the same in the FF and FB theories.

A CFT interpretation of cosmological correlation functions in $α-$vacua in de-Sitter space

de-Sitter(dS) space allows for a generalized class of vacua, known as $α-$vacua, described by some parameters. The Bunch-Davies (BD) vacua is a point in this parameter space. The cosmological correlation function is mostly discussed in BD vacuum in four dimensions and can be interpreted as $CFT_3$ correlation function of certain operators. However, the correlation function in $α-$vacua takes a much more complicated form. In this paper, we give a simple prescription to compute correlation function in $α-$vacua in terms of correlation function of BD vacuum. We also show that the correlation function in the $α-$vacua can be related to three-dimensional CFT correlation functions if we relax the requirement of consistency with OPE limit. Relaxation of consistency with OPE limit can be naturally achieved in momentum space.

4D Flat-space scattering amplitude /$CFT_3$ correlator correspondence revisited

In this paper, we make connection between CFT$_3$ three point correlation function of conserved currents and 4D three point amplitude of general spin massless gauge field explicit. We do so by taking flat space limit of momentum space CFT correlation function and show how they reproduce flat space amplitudes. We then point out a mismatch between number of independent structures in 3D CFT correlator of conserved currents and 4D flat space covariant vertex of massless higher spin fields. This is in contrast with general expectation that counting of 3d CFT correlator and 4d flat space amplitude should match. This mismatch is even more pronounced in spinor helicity variables. We also point out an interesting relation between parity even and parity odd flat space amplitude in momentum space. This observation helps us to construct a new momentum space CFT strtucture which accounts for the mismatch. However we should mention that this extra CFT structure can't be constructed out of conserved currents and hence counting mismatch between CFT correlation of conserved currents and flat space amplitude of massless gauge field persists. Story in spinor helicity variable is more complicated and is discussed in detail. We further comment on the connection of CFT correlation function in spinor helicity variables to AdS amplitudes in spinor helicity variables and light cone variables.

Bootstrapping PT symmetric Hamiltonians

Bootstrapping in Quantum Mechanics uses positivity condition to derive the Eigenspectum. For non-hermitian systems usual positivity condition does not work. In this paper we define positivity condition for special class of non-hermitian hamiltonian, the PT symmetric Hamiltonian. We illustrate this modified positivity condition with several examples and obtain eigenspectrum.

Quantum Regression theorem for multi-time correlators : A detailed analysis in the Heisenberg Picture

Quantum regression theorem is a very useful result in open quantum system and extensively used for computing multi-point correlation functions. Traditionally it is derived for two-time correlators in the Markovian limit employing the Schrödinger picture. In this paper we make use of the Heisenberg picture to derive quantum regression theorems for multi-time correlation functions which in the special limit reduce to the well known two-time regression theorem. For multi-time correlation function we find that the regression theorem takes the same form as it takes for two-time correlation function with a mild restriction that one of the times should be greater than all the other time variables. Interestingly, the Heisenberg picture also allows us to derive analogue of regression theorem for out-of-time-ordered correlators (OTOCs). We further extend our study for the case of non-Markovian dynamics and report the modifications to the standard quantum regression theorem. We illustrate all of the above results using the paradigmatic dissipative spin-boson model.

Relation between parity-even and parity-odd CFT correlation functions in three dimensions

In this paper we relate the parity-odd part of two and three point correlation functions in theories with exactly conserved or weakly broken higher spin symmetries to the parity-even part which can be computed from free theories. We also comment on higher point functions. The well known connection of CFT correlation functions with de-Sitter amplitudes in one higher dimension implies a relation between parity-even and parity-odd amplitudes calculated using non-minimal interactions such as ${\mathcal W}^3$ and ${\mathcal W}^2 {\widetilde {\mathcal W}}$. In the flat-space limit this implies a relation between parity-even and parity-odd parts of flat-space scattering amplitudes.

Constraining momentum space CFT correlators with consistent position space OPE limit and the collider bound

Consistency with position space OPE limit requires momentum space CFT correlators to have only total energy singularity. We show that this requirement gives a simple proof of the known result that the parity-odd structure cannot exist for three-point correlators of exactly conserved currents with spins $s_i,s_j,s_k$, when triangle inequality $s_i\le s_j+s_k$ is violated. We also show that even for parity even correlation functions the properties are different inside and outside the triangle inequality. It was previously shown that if we allow for weakly broken higher spin symmetry, parity-odd correlators can exist even when triangle inequality is violated. In this paper we establish a relation between non-conservation Ward-Takahashi (WT) identities for weakly broken currents using known WT identities for exactly conserved currents. This allows us to calculate the parity violating results outside the triangle inequality using parity-even free bosonic and free fermionic results. In general, there is one parity-odd structure and two parity-even structures for three-point functions. It can be shown that the coefficient of one of the parity-even and odd parts can be combined into a complex parameter $c$ when correlators are expressed in spinor-helicity variables. When this complex parameter takes real value $c=\pm 1$ it corresponds to either the free boson or free fermion theory. When $c$ is a pure phase, it corresponds to Chern-Simons matter theories. Furthermore, re-expressing known results for conformal collider bounds we see that $\lvert c\rvert\le 1$ for generic 3d CFTs and $\lvert c\rvert\le f(Δ_{gap})$ for holographic CFTs.

Higher spin 3-point functions in 3d CFT using spinor-helicity variables

In this paper we use the spinor-helicity formalism to calculate 3-point functions involving scalar operators and spin-$s$ conserved currents in general 3d CFTs. In spinor-helicity variables we notice that the parity-even and the parity-odd parts of a correlator are related. Upon converting spinor-helicity answers to momentum space, we show that correlators involving spin-$s$ currents can be expressed in terms of some simple conformally invariant conserved structures. This in particular allows us to understand and separate out contact terms systematically, especially for the parity-odd case. We also reproduce some of the correlators using weight-shifting operators.

An infectious diseases hazard map for India based on mobility and transportation networks

We propose a risk measure and construct an infectious diseases hazard map for India. Given an outbreak location, a hazard index is assigned to each city using an effective distance that depends on inter-city mobilities instead of geographical distance. We demonstrate its utility using an SIR model augmented with air, rail, and road data between top 446 cities. Simulations show that the effective distance from outbreak location reliably predicts the time of arrival of infection in other cities. The hazard index predictions compare well with the observed spread of SARS-CoV-2. The hazard map can be useful in other outbreaks also.

An all order exact result for the anomalous dimension of the scalar primary in Chern Simons Vector Models

We present a conjecture for the leading $1/N$ anomalous dimension of the scalar primary operator in $U(N)_k$ Chern-Simons theories coupled to a single fundamental field, to all orders in the t'Hooft coupling $λ=\frac{N}{k}$. Following this we compute the anomalous dimension of the scalar in a Regular Bosonic theory perturbatively at two-loop order and demonstrate that matches exactly with the result predicted by our conjecture. We also show that our proposed expression for the anomalous dimension is consistent with all other existing two-loop perturbative results, which constrain its form at both weak and strong coupling thanks to the bosonization duality. Furthermore, our conjecture passes a novel non-trivial all loop test which provides a strong evidence for its consistency.

Constraining momentum space correlators using slightly broken higher spin symmetry

In this work, building up on [1] we present momentum space Ward identities related to broken higher spin symmetry as an alternate approach to computing correlators of spinning operators in interacting theories such as the quasi-fermionic and quasi-bosonic theories. The direct Feynman diagram approach to computing correlation functions is intricate and in general has been performed only in specific kinematic regimes. We use higher spin equations to obtain the parity even and parity odd contributions to two-, three- and four-point correlators involving spinning and scalar operators in a general kinematic regime, and match our results with existing results in the literature for cases where they are available. One of the interesting facts about higher spin equations is that one can use them away from the conformal fixed point. We illustrate this by considering mass deformed free boson theory and solving for two-point functions of spinning operators using higher spin equations.

Double copy structure of parity-violating CFT correlators

We show that general parity-violating 3d conformal field theories show a double copy structure for momentum space 3-point functions of conserved currents, stress tensor and marginal scalar operators. Splitting up the CFT correlator into two parts - called homogeneous and non-homogeneous - we show that double copy relations exist for each part separately. We arrive at similar conclusions regarding double copy structures using tree-level correlators of massless fields in $dS_4$. We also discuss the flat space limit of these correlators. We further extend the double copy analysis to correlators involving higher-spin conserved currents, which suggests that the spin-$s$ current correlator can be thought of as $s$ copies of the spin one current correlator.

Momentum space parity-odd CFT 3-point functions

We study the parity-odd sector of 3-point functions comprising of scalar operators and conserved currents in conformal field theories in momentum space. We use momentum space conformal Ward identities as well as spin-raising and weight-shifting operators to fix the form of these correlators. We discuss in detail the regularisation of divergences and their renormalisation using specific counter-terms.

Momentum space spinning correlators and higher spin equations in three dimensions

In this article, we explicitly compute in momentum space the three and four-point correlation functions involving scalar and spinning operators in the free bosonic and the free fermionic theory in three dimensions. We also evaluate the five-point function of the scalar operator in the free bosonic theory. We discuss techniques which are more efficient than the usual PV reduction to evaluate one loop integrals. Our techniques can be easily generalised to momentum space correlators of complicated spinning operators and to higher point functions. The three dimensional fermionic theory has the interesting feature that the scalar operator $\barψψ$ is odd under parity. To account for this, we develop a parity odd basis which is useful to write correlation functions involving spinning operators and an odd number of $\barψψ$ operators. We further study higher spin (HS) equations in momentum space which are algebraic in nature and hence simpler than their position space counterparts. We use them to solve for three-point functions involving spinning operators without invoking conformal invariance. However, at the level of four-point functions, solving the HS equation requires additional constraints that come from conformal invariance and we could only verify that our explicit results solve the HS equation.
