Transport coefficients of hadronic matter in a van der Walls hadron resonance gas model

We estimate the transport coefficients like shear and bulk viscosities of hot hadronic matter in van der Walls hadron resonance gas ( VDW HRG ) model in the relaxation time approximation. We also have compared these results with excluded volume hadron resonance ( EV HRG ) calculations. $η/s$ decreases as the temperature of the hadronic system increases at a fixed baryon chemical potential. $η/s$ in VDW HRG is always less than that of EV HRG case due to the large entropy density in VDW HRG compared to EV HRG case. At a fixed chemical potential, $ζ/s$ in VDW HRG is also less than that of EV HRG case. We also have estimated these transport coefficients along the freezeout curve. There is an increase in chemical freezeout temperature in VDW HRG case determined from the universal condition $E/N =ε/n \sim 1$ $GeV$. We also have calculated the variation of attraction parameter along the freezeout curve $E/N =ε/n \sim 1$ $GeV$ keeping the freezeout parameters same as in ideal HRG and the repulsion parameter fixed. We observe a nontrivial variation of attraction parameter along the freezeout curve where it increases in the meson dominated region and decreases in the baryon dominated region along the chemical freezeout curve. $η/s$ in EV HRG is always large than that VDW HRG along the freezeout curve. This is also true for $ζ/s$.

Effect of Rope Hadronisation on Strangeness Enhancement in p$-$p collisions at LHC energies

The p$-$p collisions at high multiplicity at LHC show small scale collective effects similar to that observed in heavy ion collisions such as enhanced production of strange and multi-strange hadrons, long range azimuthal correlations, etc. The observation of strangeness enhancement in p$-$p collisions at at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV and 13 TeV as measured by ALICE experiment is explored using Pythia8 event generator within the framework of microscopic rope hadronization model which assumes the formation of ropes due to overlapping of strings in high multiplicity environment. The transverse momentum ($p_{T}$) spectra shape and its hardening with multiplicity is well described by the model. The mechanism of formation of ropes also described the observed experimental strangeness enhancement for higher multiplicity classes in p$-$p collisions at 7 TeV and 13 TeV. The enhancement with multiplicity is further investigated by studying the mean $p_{T}$ ($ $) and the integrated yields ($ $ ) of strange and multi-strange hadrons and comparing the predictions to the measured data at LHC for 7 TeV and 13 TeV.

Multiplicity distribution and normalized moments in p$-$p collisions at LHC in forward rapidity using Weibull model

The measured charged particle multiplicity distribution in the forward rapidity region of the p$-$p collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 0.9 TeV, 7 TeV and 8 TeV at the LHC have been described using the Weibull distribution function. The higher order (up to $5^{th}$ order ) normalized moments and the factorial moments are also calculated using the extracted parameters. The multiplicity distributions in forward region are observed to be well described by the Weibull regularity and the higher order moment calculations confirm the violation of KNO scaling that has been observed at mid-rapidity and lower energies. The Weibull parameters and moments for p$-$p collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV are also estimated for the forward region.

Charged-particle multiplicity and transverse-energy distribution using the Weibull-Glauber approach in heavy-ion collisions

The charged-particle multiplicity distribution and the transverse-energy distribution measured in heavy-ion collisions at top RHIC and LHC energies are described using the two-component model approach based on a convolution of the Monte Carlo Glauber model with the Weibull model for particle production. The model successfully describes the multiplicity and transverse-energy distribution of minimum-bias collision data for a wide range of energies. The Weibull-Glauber model can be used to determine the centrality classes in heavy-ion collisions as an alternative to the conventional negative binomial distribution (NBD)-Glauber approach.

Weibull Distribution and the multiplicity moments in $pp\,(p\bar{p})$ collisions

A higher moment analysis of multiplicity distribution is performed using the Weibull description of particle production in $pp\,(p\bar{p})$ collisions at SPS and LHC energies. The calculated normalized moments and factorial moments of Weibull distribution are compared to the measured data. The calculated Weibull moments are found to be in good agreement with the measured higher moments (up to 5$^{\rm{th}}$ order) reproducing the observed breaking of KNO scaling in the data. The moments for $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV are also predicted.

Describing dynamical fluctuations and genuine correlations by Weibull regularity

The Weibull parametrization of the multiplicity distribution is used to describe the multidimensional local fluctuations and genuine multiparticle correlations measured by OPAL in the large statistics $e^{+}e^{-} \to Z^{0} \to hadrons$ sample. The data are found to be well reproduced by the Weibull model up to higher orders. The Weibull predictions are compared to the predictions by the two other models, namely by the negative binomial and modified negative binomial distributions which mostly failed to fit the data. The Weibull regularity, which is found to reproduce the multiplicity distributions along with the genuine correlations, looks to be the optimal model to describe the multiparticle production process.

Transverse Momentum Distribution in Heavy Ion Collision using q-Weibull Formalism

We have implemented the Tsallis q-statistics in the Weibull model of particle production known as the q-Weibull distribution to describe the transverse-momentum (pT ) distribution of the charged hadrons at mid-rapidity measured at RHIC and LHC energies. The model describes the data remarkably well for the entire pT range measured in nucleus-nucleus and nucleon-nucleon collisions. The proposed distribution is based on the non-extensive Tsallis q-statistics which replaces the usual thermal equilibrium assumption of hydrodynamical models. The parameters of the distribution can be related to the various aspects of complex dynamics associated with such collision process.

Comprehending particle production at RHIC and LHC energies using global measurements

The centrality dependence of the charged-particle multiplicity densities ($dN_{ch}/dη$) and transverse energy densities ($dE_{T}/dη$) are investigated using the two-component Glauber approach for broad range of energies in heavy ion collisions at RHIC and LHC. A comprehensive study shows that the data is well described within the framework of two component model which includes the contribution of "soft processes" and "hard processes" for different centrality classes and energies. The data at two different energies are compared by means of the ratio of $dN_{ch}/dη$ (and $dE_{T}/dη$) to see the interplay of energy and $x$-scaling.

Multiplicity distributions for $e^{+}e^{-}$ collisions using Weibull distribution

The two parameters Weibull function is used to describe the charged particle multiplicity distribution in $e^{+}e^{-}$ collisions at the highest available energy measured by TASSO and ALEPH experiments. The Weibull distribution has wide applications in naturally evolving processes based on fragmentation and sequential branching. The Weibull model describes the multiplicity distribution very well, as particle production processes involve QCD parton fragmentation. The effective energy model of particle production was verified using Weibull parameters and the same was used to predict the multiplicity distribution in $e^{+}e^{-}$ collisions at future collider energies.

Weibull model of Multiplicity Distribution in hadron-hadron collisions

We introduce the Weibull distribution as a simple parametrization of charged particle multiplicities in hadron-hadron collisions at all available energies, ranging from ISR energies to the most recent LHC energies. In statistics, the Weibull distribution has wide applicability in natural processes involving fragmentation processes. This gives a natural connection to the available state-of-the-art models for multi-particle production in hadron hadron collisions involving QCD parton fragmentation and hadronization.

Flow Coefficients and Jet Characteristics in Heavy Ion Collisions

Identifying jets in heavy ion collisions is of significant interest since the properties of jets are expected to get modified because of the formation of quark gluon plasma. The detection of jets is, however, difficult because of large number of non-jet hadrons produced in the collision process. In this work we propose a method of identifying a jet and determining its transverse momentum by means of flow analysis. This has been done an event-by-event basis.

K* production in Cu+Cu and Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_{NN}) = 62.4 GeV and 200 GeV in STAR

We report the measurements of $p_T$ spectra of $K^*$ up to intermediate $p_T$ region in mid-rapidity through its hadronic decay channel using the STAR detector in Au+Au and Cu+Cu collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}$= 62.4 GeV and 200 GeV. Particle ratios such as $K^{*}/K$ and $K^{*}/ϕ$ is used to understand the rescattering and regeneration effect on $K^{*}$ production in the hadronic medium. The $K^*$ $v_{2}$ measurement using a high statistics Au+Au 200 GeV dataset and nuclear modification factor measurement supports the quark coalescence model of particle production in the intermediate $p_T$ range.

K* production in Heavy Ion Collisions at RHIC

Study of resonances with their short life-times provides useful tools to probe the properties of hot and dense matter produced in relativistic heavy ion collisions. The high density and/or high temperature of the medium can modify resonance properties such as mass and width. Therefore, measurement of these properties can reveal important information about the evolution dynamics in heavy ion collisions. We report the measurements of $K^{*}$ transverse momentum($p_T$) spectra at mid-rapidity via its hadronic decay channel up to intermediate $p_{T}$ of 2.9 GeV/c using the STAR detector in Au+Au and Cu+Cu collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}$= 62.4 GeV and 200 GeV. These results are compared to previously reported $K^{*}$ results from Au+Au collisions at RHIC. Integrated yield ratios of $K^{*}/K$ and $K^{*}/ϕ$ are used to understand the rescattering and regeneration effects on $K^{*}$ production.
