Weak approximation of fractional SDES: The Donsker setting

In this note, we take up the study of weak convergence for stochastic differential equations driven by a (Liouville) fractional Brownian motion $B$ with Hurst parameter $H\in(1/3,1/2)$. In the current paper, we approximate the $d$-dimensional fBm by the convolution of a rescaled random walk with Liouville's kernel. We then show that the corresponding differential equation converges in law to a fractional SDE driven by $B$.

Discretizing the fractional Levy area

In this article, we give sharp bounds for the Euler- and trapezoidal discretization of the Levy area associated to a d-dimensional fractional Brownian motion. We show that there are three different regimes for the exact root mean-square convergence rate of the Euler scheme. For H<3/4 the exact convergence rate is n^{-2H+1/2}, where n denotes the number of the discretization subintervals, while for H=3/4 it is n^{-1} (log(n))^{1/2} and for H>3/4 the exact rate is n^{-1}. Moreover, the trapezoidal scheme has exact convergence rate n^{-2H+1/2} for H>1/2. Finally, we also derive the asymptotic error distribution of the Euler scheme. For H lesser than 3/4 one obtains a Gaussian limit, while for H>3/4 the limit distribution is of Rosenblatt type.

Some differential systems driven by a fBm with Hurst parameter greater than 1/4

This note is devoted to show how to push forward the algebraic integration setting in order to treat differential systems driven by a noisy input with Hölder regularity greater than 1/4. After recalling how to treat the case of ordinary stochastic differential equations, we mainly focus on the case of delay equations. A careful analysis is then performed in order to show that a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter H>1/4 fulfills the assumptions of our abstract theorems.

Weak approximation of a fractional SDE

In this note, a diffusion approximation result is shown for stochastic differential equations driven by a (Liouville) fractional Brownian motion B with Hurst parameter H in (1/3,1/2). More precisely, we resort to the Kac-Stroock type approximation using a Poisson process studied in Bardina, Jolis and Tudor (2003) and Delgado and Jolis (2000), and our method of proof relies on the algebraic integration theory introduced by Gubinelli (2004).

Superdiffusivity for a Brownian polymer in a continuous Gaussian environment

This paper provides information about the asymptotic behavior of a one-dimensional Brownian polymer in random medium represented by a Gaussian field $W$ on ${\mathbb{R}}_+\times{\mathbb{R}}$ which is white noise in time and function-valued in space. According to the behavior of the spatial covariance of $W$, we give a lower bound on the power growth (wandering exponent) of the polymer when the time parameter goes to infinity: the polymer is proved to be superdiffusive, with a wandering exponent exceeding any $α<3/5$.

Rough Volterra equations 2: convolutional generalized integrals

We define and solve Volterra equations driven by an irregular signal, by means of a variant of the rough path theory allowing to handle generalized integrals weighted by an exponential coefficient. The results are applied to the fractional Brownian motion with Hurst coefficient greater than 1/3

The rough path associated to the multidimensional analytic fbm with any Hurst parameter

In this paper, we consider a complex-valued d-dimensional fractional Brownian motion defined on the closure of the complex upper half-plane, called analytic fractional Brownian motion. This process has been introduced by the second author of the article, and both its real and imaginary parts, restricted on the real axis, are usual fractional Brownian motions. The current note is devoted to prove that a rough path based on the analytic fBm can be constructed for any value of the Hurst parameter in (0,1/2). This allows in particular to solve differential equations driven by this process in a neighborhood of 0 of the complex upper half-plane, thanks to a variant of the usual rough path theory due to Gubinelli.

Rough Volterra equations 1: the algebraic integration setting

We define and solve Volterra equations driven by an irregular signal, by means of a variant of the rough path theory called algebraic integration. In the Young case, that is for a driving signal with Hölder exponent greater than 1/2, we obtain a global solution, and are able to handle the case of a singular Volterra coefficient. In case of a driving signal with Hölder exponent in (1/3,1/2], we get a local existence and uniqueness theorem. The results are easily applied to the fractional Brownian motion with Hurst coefficient H>1/3.

A model of continuous time polymer on the lattice

In this article, we try to give a rather complete picture of the behavior of the free energy for a model of directed polymer in a random environment, in which the polymer is a simple symmetric random walk on the lattice $\Z^d$, and the environment is a collection $\{W(t,x);t\ge 0, x\in \Z^d\}$ of i.i.d. Brownian motions.

Delay equations driven by rough paths

In this article, we illustrate the flexibility of the algebraic integration formalism introduced by M. Gubinelli (2004), by establishing an existence and uniqueness result for delay equations driven by rough paths. We then apply our results to the case where the driving path is a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter H>1/3.

Sharp asymptotics for the partition function of some continuous-time directed polymers

This paper is concerned with two related types of directed polymers in a random medium. The first one is a d-dimensional Brownian motion living in a random environment which is Brownian in time and homogeneous in space. The second is a continuous-time random walk on the lattice Z^d, in a random environment with similar properties as in continuous space. The case of a space-time white noise environment can be acheived in this second setting. By means of some Gaussian tools, we estimate the free energy of these models at low temperature, and give some further information on the strong disorder regime of the objects under consideration.

On homogeneous pinning models and penalizations

In this note, we show how the penalization method, introduced in order to describe some non-trivial changes of the Wiener measure, can be applied to the study of some simple polymer models such as the pinning model. The bulk of the analysis is then focused on the study of a martingale which has to be computed as a Markovian limit.

Superdiffusive behavior for a Brownian polymer in a Gaussian medium

This paper provides information about the asymptotic behavior of a one-dimensional Brownian polymer in random medium represented by a space-time Gaussian field W assumed to be white noise in time and function-valued in space. According to the behavior of the spatial covariance W, we give a lower bound on the power growth (wandering exponent) of the polymer when the time parameter goes to infinity: the polymer is proved to be superdiffusive, with a wandering exponent exceeding any $α<3/5$.

Trees and asymptotic developments for fractional stochastic differential equations

In this paper we consider a n-dimensional stochastic differential equation driven by a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter H>1/3. After solving this equation in a rather elementary way, following the approach of Gubinelli, we show how to obtain an expansion for E[f(X\_t)] in terms of t, where X denotes the solution to the SDE and f:R^n->R is a regular function. With respect to the work by Baudoin and Coutin, where the same kind of problem is considered, we try an improvement in three different directions: we are able to take a drift into account in the equation, we parametrize our expansion with trees (which makes it easier to use), and we obtain a sharp control of the remainder.

Itô's formula for linear fractional PDEs

In this paper we introduce a stochastic integral with respect to the solution X of the fractional heat equation on [0,1], interpreted as a divergence operator. This allows to use the techniques of the Malliavin calculus in order to establish an Itô-type formula for the process X.

A central limit theorem for a localized version of the SK model

In this note, we consider a SK (Sherrington--Kirkpatrick)-type model on Z^d for d greater or equal to 1, weighted by a function allowing to any single spin to interact with a small proportion of the other ones. In the thermodynamical limit, we investigate the equivalence of this model with the usual SK spin system, through the study of the fluctuations of the free energy.

The 1-d stochastic wave equation driven by a fractional Brownian motion

In this paper, we develop a Young integration theory in dimension 2 which will allow us to solve a non-linear one dimensional wave equation driven by an arbitrary signal whose rectangular increments satisfy some Hölder regularity conditions, for some Hölder exponent greater than 1/2. This result will be applied to the infinite dimensional fractional Brownian motion.

A diluted version of the perceptron model

This note is concerned with a diluted version of the perceptron model. We establish a replica symmetric formula at high temperature, which is achieved by studying the asymptotic behavior of a given spin magnetization. Our main task will be to identify the order parameter of the system.
