On the generalized Dixon integral equation

A unique analytic solution of the generalized Dixon nonhomogeneous integral equation is derived in $C^{1}[0,A],\ A > 0$. It is written in terms of the Neumann series, which is expressed as a double series of residues at multiple poles of powers of the gamma-function.

New summation and transformation formulas of the Poisson, Müntz, Möbius and Voronoi type

Basing on properties of the Mellin transform and Ramanujan's identities, which represent a ratio of products of Riemann's zeta- functions of different arguments in terms of the Dirichlet series of arithmetic functions, we obtain a number of the Poisson, Müntz, Möbius and Voronoi type summation formulas. The corresponding analogs of the Müntz operators are investigated. Interesting and curious particular cases of summation formulas involving arithmetic functions are exhibited. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the validity of the Riemann hypothesis are derived.

On the generalized Lebedev index transform

An essential generalization of the Lebedev index transform with the square of the Macdonald function is investigated. Namely, we consider a family of integral operators with the positive kernel $|K_{(iτ+α)/2}(x)|^2, α\ge 0,\ x >0, \ τ\in \mathbb{R},$ where $K_μ(z)$ is the Macdonald function and $ i$ is the imaginary unit. Mapping properties such as the boundedness, compactness, invertibility are investigated for these operators and their adjoints in the Lebesgue weighted spaces. Inversion theorems are proved. Important particular cases are exhibited. As an interesting application, a solution of the initial value problem for the second order differential difference equation, involving the Laplacian, is obtained.

On the half-Hartley transform, its iteration and composition with Fourier transforms

Employing the generalized Parseval equality for the Mellin transform and elementary trigonometric formulas, the iterated Hartley transform on the nonnegative half-axis (the iterated half-Hartley transform) is investigated in L_2. Mapping and inversion properties are discussed, its relationship with the iterated Stieltjes transform is established. Various compositions with the Fourier cosine and sine transforms are obtained. The results are applied to the uniqueness and universality of the closed form solutions for certain new singular integral and integro-functional equations.

New inversion, convolution and Titchmarsh's theorems for the half-Hartley transform

The generalized Parseval equality for the Mellin transform is employed to prove the inversion theorem in L_2 with the respective inverse operator related to the Hartley transform on the nonnegative half-axis (the half-Hartley transform). Moreover, involving the convolution method, which is based on the double Mellin-Barnes integrals, the corresponding convolution and Titchmarsh's theorems for the half-Hartley transform are established. As an application, we consider solvability conditions for a homogeneous integral equation of the second kind involving the Hartley kernel.

New inversion, convolution and Titchmarsh's theorems for the half-Hilbert transform

While exploiting the generalized Parseval equality for the Mellin transform, we derive the reciprocal inverse operator in the weighted L_2-space related to the Hilbert transform on the nonnegative half-axis. Moreover, employing the convolution method, which is based on the Mellin-Barnes integrals, we prove the corresponding convolution and Titchmarsh's theorems for the half-Hilbert transform. Some applications to the solvability of a new class of singular integral equations are demonstrated. Our technique does not require the use of methods of the Riemann-Hilbert boundary value problems for analytic functions. The same approach will be applied in the forthcoming research to invert the half-Hartley transform and to establish its convolution theorem.

Delicacy of the Riemann hypothesis and certain subsequences of superabundant numbers

Robin's theorem is one of the ingenious reformulation of the Riemann hypothesis (RH). It states that the RH is true if and only if $σ(n) 5040$ where $σ(n)$ is the sum of divisors of $n$ and $γ$ is Euler's constant. In this paper we show that how the RH is delicate in terms of certain subsets of superabundant numbers, namely extremely abundant numbers and some of its specific supersets.

Superabundant numbers, their subsequences and the Riemann hypothesis

Let σ(n) be the sum of divisors of a positive integer n. Robin's theorem states that the Riemann hypothesis is equivalent to the inequality σ(n) 5040 (γis Euler's constant). It is a natural question in this direction to find a first integer, if exists, which violates this inequality. Following this process, we introduce a new sequence of numbers and call it as extremely abundant numbers. In this paper we show that the Riemann hypothesis is true, if and only if, there are infinitely many of these numbers. Moreover, we investigate some of their properties together with superabundant and colossally abundant numbers.

Sharper estimates for Chebyshev's functions $\vartheta$ and $ψ$

In this article we present some improved results for Chebyshev's functions $\vartheta$ and $ψ$ using the new zero-free region obtained by H. Kadiri and the calculated the first $10^{13}$ zeros of the Riemann zeta function on the critical line by Xavier Gourdon. The methods in the proofs are similar to those of Rosser-Shoenfeld papers on this subject.

On the Yor integral and a system of polynomials related to the Kontorovich-Lebedev transform

In this paper we establish different representations of the so-called Yor integral, which is one of the key ingredient in mathematical finance, in particular, to compute normalized prices of Asian options. We show, that the Yor integral is related with the Kontorovich-Lebedev transform. Also we discuss its relationship with a system of polynomials recently introduced by the author. We derive new important properties of these polynomials, including upper bounds, an exact asymptotic behavior for large values of their degree and explicit formula of coefficients.

A class of index transforms generated by the Mellin and Laplace operators

Classical integral representation of the Mellin type kernel in terms of the Laplace integral gives an idea to construct a new class of non-convolution (index) transforms. Particular examples give the Kontorovich-Lebedev-like transformation and new transformations with hypergeometric functions as kernels. Mapping properties and inversion formulas are obtained. Finally we prove a new inversion theorem for the modified Kontorovich-Lebedev transform

On an inequality for the Riemann zeta-function in the critical strip

By using new power inequalities we give an elementary proof of an important relation for the Riemann zeta-function |ζ(1-s)| <= |ζ(s)| in the strip 0< Re s<1/2,\ |\Im s| >= 12. Moreover, we establish a sufficient condition of the validity of the Riemann hypothesis in terms of the derivative with respect to Re s of |ζ(s)|^2 and conjecture its necessity.

Integral and series transformations via Ramanujan's identities and Salem's type equivalences to the Riemann hypothesis

We consider integral and series transformations, which are associated with Ramanujan's identities, involving various arithmetic functions and a ratio of products of Riemann's zeta functions of different arguments. Reciprocal inversion formulas are proved in a Banach space of functions whose Mellin's transforms are integrable over the vertical line Re s > 1. Examples of new transformations like Widder-Lambert and Kontorovich-Lebedev type are exhibited. Particular cases include familiar Lambert and Mobius transformations. Finally a class of equivalences of the Salem type to the Riemann hypothesis is established.

A new Kontorovich-Lebedev-like transformation

A different application of the familiar integral representation for the modifed Bessel function drives to a new Kontorovich-Lebedev-like integral transformation of a general complex index. Mapping and operational properties, a convolution operator and inversion formula are established. Solvability conditions and explicit solutions of the corresponding class of convolution integral equations are exhibited.

On some Rajchman measures and equivalent Salem's problem

We construct certain Rajchman measures by using integrability properties of the Fourier and Fourier-Stieltjes transforms. In particular, we state a problem and prove that it is equivalent to the known and still unsolved question posed by R. Salem (Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 53 (3) (1943), p. 439) whether Fourier-Stieltjes coefficients of the Minkowski's question mark function vanish at infinity.

On some Rajchman measures and a solution to Salem's problem revisited

We construct certain Rajchman measures by using integrability properties of the Fourier and Fourier-Stieltjes transforms. Further we show that Minkowski's question mark function ?(x), which is a singular monotone function, belongs to one of these classes. This circumstance leads us to a rigorous proof of the problem posed by R. Salem (Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 53 (3) (1943), p. 439) whether Fourier-Stieltjes coefficients of this function vanish at infinity and whose affirmative solution was recently announced by the author in [13]. Moreover, we generalize this problem, proving that derivatives of any order of the Fourier-Stieltjes transform with respect to the measure ?(x) tend to zero as well.

The Fourier-Stieltjes transform of Minkowski's ?(x) function and an affirmative answer to Salem's problem

By using structural and asymptotic properties of the Kontorovich-Lebedev transform associated with Minkowski's question mark function, we give an affirmative answer to the question posed by R. Salem (Trans. Amer. Math. Soc., 53 (3), (1943), p. 439) whether its Fourier-Stieltjes transform vanishes at infinity. This paper is substituted with a correct alternative and affirmative solution of Salem's problem and its generalization for derivatives of any order of the Fourier-Stieltjes transform of the Minkowski'i question mark function. The question is finally solved.
