Inflation from Covariant Signature Change: A Geometric Mechanism

We present a covariant mechanism in which a smooth change of metric signature, from a Euclidean to a Lorentzian regime, drives a finite interval of accelerated expansion. The transition, encoded by a scalar interpolator along a timelike congruence, occurs on a codimension-one hypersurface where the continued metric is degenerate but curvature invariants remain finite, so the surface is curvature-regular. Using this covariant continuation, we rewrite the Einstein tensor of the continued metric as a localized, interpolator-dependent effective source for the post-transition Lorentzian branch, yielding a purely geometric stress tensor supported near the crossing. In the Lorentzian regime, we derive a model-independent, local criterion for acceleration: inflation persists while the interpolator's slope exceeds a critical value fixed by the extrinsic curvature and the spatial Ricci curvature on the initial hypersurface, and ends when this inequality is first saturated. Standard smooth profiles (tanh, generalized logistic, and power-law/arctan) admit closed-form expressions for the proper-time duration of the accelerated epoch, showing that, for fixed geometric data, the profile shape controls this duration. The construction provides a non-singular, inflaton-free route from a regular Euclidean origin to an early Lorentzian phase of accelerated expansion, in a manner compatible with no--boundary--type boundary conditions.

Modeling an internal structure of a black hole using a thermodynamic quasi-particle model

We develop an effective thermodynamic model for a black-hole interior composed of scalar quasiparticles. The interior is represented by two regions: a dense core and a surrounding crust, whose properties are controlled by the quasiparticle kinetics. In the core, quasiparticles are assumed to have vanishing classical kinetic energy, so the total core energy is dominated by a potential-energy functional $U(N)$ that depends only on the quasiparticle number $N$. As a consequence, the appropriate intensive variable governing the core thermodynamics is an inverse-temperature--like parameter $β$, introduced as the thermodynamic conjugate to $U$; it replaces the usual kinetic temperature $T$ in the core equations of state and can drive the core pressure and energy density negative in the relevant regime. Different core states are further characterized by the mean occupation number $η$. In the crust, quasiparticles remain trapped at finite kinetic temperature, and the no-escape condition is implemented via a truncation of the phase-space integrals, yielding an explicit analytic coupling between thermodynamics and gravity. The resulting framework provides a unified quasiparticle description of core and crust, clarifies the thermodynamic origin of negative pressure/energy in the interior, and provides an effective thermodynamic setting for exploring how semiclassical or microscopic resolutions of the singularity problem might be constrained.

Graviton reggeization and high energy gravitational scattering of scalar particles

In this paper we consider a high energy scattering of free scalar particles through a gravitational field. The one particle t-channel amplitude of the scattering in this limit is governed by reggeized graviton. Therefore, we discuss an appearance of the reggeized gravitons in the framework of Einstein-Hilbert gravity and consider Lipatov's effective action for the reggeized gravitons. We calculate the trajectory of the corresponding $t$-channel amplitude in the framework and thereafter define the leading order amplitude of scattering of two massive scalar particles. An impact factor of the interaction of scalar particle with the reggeized gravitons is also calculated and possible applications of the approach are discussed as well.

Spinor fields, CPTM symmetry and smallness of cosmological constant in framework of extended manifold

A model of an extended manifold for the Dirac spinor field is considered. Two Lagrangians related by CPTM (charge-parity-time-mass) symmetry are constructed for a pair of the Dirac spinor fields with each spinor field defined in a separate manifold. An interaction between the matter fields in the manifolds is introduced through gravity. A fermionic effective action of the general system is constructed and a tadpole one-loop spinor diagram and part of the one-loop vacuum diagrams with two external gravitational off-shell fields which contribute to the effective action are calculated. It is demonstrated that among different versions of the second spinor Lagrangian there is a special one for which a cancellation of the mentioned diagrams in the total effective action takes place. As a result, the diagrams do not contribute to the cosmological constant, as well there is a zero contribution of the zero point energies of the spinor fields to the action. The non-zero leading order value of the cosmological constant for each manifold in the framework is proportional to the matter density of each separated manifold or difference of the densities, depending on the chosen model of interaction of gravitational fields with fermions. An appearance of the dark matter in the model is shortly discussed as well as further applications of the approach.

Entropy measures as geometrical tools in the study of cosmology

Classical chaos is often characterized as exponential divergence of nearby trajectories. In many interesting cases these trajectories can be identified with geodesic curves. We define here the entropy by $S = \ln χ(x)$ with $χ(x)$ being the distance between two nearby geodesics. We derive an equation for the entropy which by transformation to a Ricatti-type equation becomes similar to the Jacobi equation. We further show that the geodesic equation for a null geodesic in a double warped space time leads to the same entropy equation. By applying a Robertson-Walker metric for a flat three-dimensional Euclidian space expanding as a function of time, we again reach the entropy equation stressing the connection between the chosen entropy measure and time. We finally turn to the Raychaudhuri equation for expansion, which also is a Ricatti equation similar to the transformed entropy equation. Those Ricatti-type equations have solutions of the same form as the Jacobi equation. The Raychaudhuri equation can be transformed to a harmonic oscillator equation, and it has been shown that the geodesic deviation equation of Jacobi is essentially equivalent to that of a harmonic oscillator. The Raychaudhuri equations are strong geometrical tools in the study of General Relativity and Cosmology. We suggest a refined entropy measure applicable in Cosmology and defined by the average deviation of the geodesics in a congruence.

On a residual freedom of the next-to-leading BFKL eigenvalue in color adjoint representation in planar $\mathcal{N} = 4$ SYM

We discuss a residual freedom of the next-to-leading BFKL eigenvalue that originates from ambiguity in redistributing the next-to-leading~(NLO) corrections between the adjoint BFKL eigenvalue and eigenfunctions in planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills~(SYM) Theory. In terms of the remainder function of the Bern-Dixon-Smirnov~(BDS) amplitude this freedom is translated to reshuffling correction between the eigenvalue and the impact factors in the multi-Regge kinematics~(MRK) in the next-to-leading logarithm approximation~(NLA). We show that the modified NLO BFKL eigenvalue suggested by the authors can be introduced in the MRK expression for the remainder function by shifting the anomalous dimension in the impact factor in such a way that the two and three loop remainder function is left unchanged to the NLA accuracy.

On the Analytic Solution of the Balitsky-Kovchegov Evolution Equation

The study presents an analytic solution of the Balitsky-Kovchegov~(BK) equation in a particular kinematics. The solution is written in the momentum space and based on the eigenfunctions of the truncated Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov~(BFKL) equation in the gauge adjoint representation, which was used for calculation of the Regge~(Mandelstam) cut contribution to the planar helicity amplitudes. We introduce an eigenfunction of the singlet BFKL equation constructed of the adjoint eigenfunction multiplied by a factor, which restores the dual conformal symmetry present in the adjoint and broken in the singlet BFKL equations. The proposed analytic BK solution correctly reproduces the initial condition and the high energy asymptotics of the scattering amplitude.

Regge Field Theory in zero transverse dimensions: loops versus "net" diagrams

Toy models of interacting Pomerons with triple and quaternary Pomeron vertices in zero transverse dimension are investigated. Numerical solutions for eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the corresponding Hamiltonians are obtained, providing the quantum solution for the scattering amplitude in both models. The equations of motion for the Lagrangians of the theories are also considered and the classical solutions of the equations are found. Full two-point Green functions ("effective" Pomeron propagator) and amplitude of diffractive dissociation process are calculated in the framework of RFT-0 approach. The importance of the loops contribution in the amplitude at different values of the model parameters is discussed as well as the difference between the models with and without quaternary Pomeron vertex.

Reaction-diffusion processes in zero transverse dimensions as toy models for high-energy QCD

We examine numerically different zero-dimensional reaction-diffusion processes as candidate toy models for high-energy QCD evolution. Of the models examined -- Reggeon Field Theory, Directed Percolation and Reversible Processes -- only the latter shows the behaviour commonly expected, namely an increase of the scattering amplitude with increasing rapidity. Further, we find that increasing recombination terms, quantum loops and the heuristic inclusion of a running of the couplings, generically slow down the evolution.

Gluon density and $F_{2}$ functions from BK equation with impact parameter dependence

In this note we fix the preliminary results obtained in the study of gluon density function of the paper \cite{bom3}. The LO BK equation for unintegrated gluon density with impact parameter dependence is considered in order to fix the parameters of the proposed model. In particular the form of initial condition for the equations of proton-proton scattering from \cite{bom3} is determined, which is similar to the form of fenomenological GBW ansatz. The gluon density function and $F_{2}$ function are also calculated and compared with the results for the gluon density and $F_{2}$ functions from the GRV parameterization for different values of $Q^2$. It is shown, that the results for $F_2$ structure function of the considered model are in the good accordance with the results obtained from the GRV parameterization of parton densities.

Solving effective field theory of interacting QCD pomerons in the semi-classical approximation

Effective field theory of BFKL pomerons interacting by QCD triple pomeron vertices is investigated. Classical equations of motion for the effective pomeron fields are presented being a minimal extension of the Balitsky-Kovchegov equation that incorporates both merging and splitting of the pomerons and that is self-dual. The equations are solved for symmetric boundary conditions. The solutions provide the dominant contribution to the scattering amplitudes in the semi-classical approximation. We find that for rapidities of the scattering larger than a critical value Y_c at least two classical solutions exist. Curiously, for each of the two classical solutions with the lowest action the symmetry between the projectile and the target is found to be spontaneously broken, being however preserved for the complete set of classical solutions. The solving configurations at rapidities Y>Y_c consist of a Gribov field being strongly suppressed even at very large gluon momenta and the complementary Gribov field that converges at high Y to a solution of Balitsky-Kovchegov equation. Interpretation of the results is given and possible consequences are shortly discussed.

`Effective' Pomeron model at large $\mathbf{b}$

In this paper we consider the influence of non-perturbative corrections on the large $ b $ (impact parameter) behavior of the BFKL amplitude. This is done in the framework of a model where such ``soft'' corrections are taken into account in the BFKL kernel. We show, that these corrections lead to a power-like decreasing behavior of amplitude, which differs from the BFKL case.

High energy amplitude as an admixture of "soft" and "hard" Pomerons

In this paper an attempt is made to find an interface of the perturbative BFKL Pomeron with the non-perturbative Pomeron originating from non-perturbative QCD phenomena such as QCD instantons and/or scale anomaly. The main idea is that the non-perturbative Pomeron involves a large scale ($M_0 \approx 2 GeV $), which is larger than the scale from which perturbative QCD is applicable. One key result is that even for processes involving a large hard scale (such as DIS) the low $x$ behavior is determined by an effective Pomeron with an intercept having an essential non-perturbative QCD contribution.
