Beyond Starobinsky inflation

A supergravity extension of the $(R+R^2)$ gravity with the additional (Born-Infeld) structure of a massive vector multiplet gives rise to the specific $F(R)$ gravity, whose structure is investigated in detail. The massive vector multiplet has inflaton (scalaron), goldstino and a massive vector field as its field components. The model describes Starobinsky inflation and allows us to extrapolate the $F(R)$ function beyond the inflationary scale (up to Planck scale). We observe some differences versus the $(R+R^2)$ gravity, and several breaking patterns of the well known correspondence between the $F(R)$ gravity and the scalar-tensor gravity.

Deformation of the Dirac Equation

In this paper, we will first clarify the physical meaning of having a minimum measurable time. Then we will combine the deformation of the Dirac equation due to the existence of minimum measurable length and time scales with its deformation due to the doubly special relativity. We will also analyse this deformed Dirac equation in curved spacetime, and observe that this deformation of the Dirac equation also leads to a non-trivial modification of general relativity. Finally, we will analyse the stochastic quantization of this deformed Dirac equation on curved spacetime.

Wave Function of the Universe from a Matrix Valued First-Order Formalism

In this paper, the Wheeler-DeWitt equation in full superspace formalism will be written in a matrix valued first-order formalism. We will also analyse the Wheeler-DeWitt equation in minisuperspace approximation using this matrix valued first-order formalism. We will note that this Wheeler-DeWitt equation, in this minisuperspace approximation, can be expressed as an eigenvalue equation. We will use this fact to analyse the spacetime foam in this formalism. This will be done by constructing a statistical mechanical partition function for the Wheeler-DeWitt equation in this matrix valued first-order formalism. This will lead to a possible solution for the cosmological constant problem.
