On the density of polynomials in some $L^2(M)$ spaces

In this paper we study the density of polynomials in some $L^2(M)$ spaces. Two choices of the measure $M$ and polynomials are considered: 1) a $(N\times N)$ matrix non-negative Borel measure on $\mathbb{R}$ and vector-valued polynomials $p(x) = (p_0(x),p_1(x),...,p_{N-1}(x))$, $p_j(x)$ are complex polynomials, $N\in \mathbb{N}$; 2) a scalar non-negative Borel measure in a strip $Π= \{(x,ϕ):\ x\in \mathbb{R}, ϕ\in [-π,π) \} $, and power-trigonometric polynomials: $p(x,ϕ) = \sum_{m=0}^\infty \sum_{n=-\infty}^\infty α_{m,n} x^m e^{inϕ}$, $α_{m,n}\in \mathbb{C}$, where all but finite number of $α_{m,n}$ are zeros. We prove that polynomials are dense in $L^2(M)$ if and only if $M$ is a canonical solution of the corresponding moment problem. Using descriptions of canonical solutions, we get conditions for the density of polynomials in $L^2(M)$. For this purpose, we derive a model for commuting self-adjoint and unitary operators with a spectrum of a finite multiplicity.

The truncated matrix trigonometric moment problem: the operator approach

In this paper we study the truncated matrix trigonometric moment problem. We obtained a bijective parameterization of all solutions of this moment problem (both in nondegenerate and degenerate cases) via an operator approach. We use important results of M.E.~Chumakin on generalized resolvents of isometric operators.

On the two-dimensional moment problem

In this paper we obtain an algorithm towards solving the two-dimensional moment problem. This algorithm gives the necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability of the moment problem. It is shown that all solutions of the moment problem can be constructed using this algorithm. In a consequence, analogous results are obtained for the complex moment problem.

The two-dimensional moment problem in a strip

In this paper we study the two-dimensional moment problem in a strip $Π(R) = \{ (x_1,x_2)\in \mathbb{R}^2:\ |x_2| \leq R \}$, $R>0$. We obtained a solvability criterion for this moment problem. We derived a parameterization of all solutions of the moment problem. An abstract operator approach and results of Godič, Lucenko and Shtraus are used.

Devinatz's moment problem: a description of all solutions

In this paper we study Devinatz's moment problem: to find a non-negative Borel measure $μ$ in a strip $Π= \{(x,ϕ):\ x\in \mathbb{R},\ -π\leq ϕ< π\},$ such that $\int_Πx^m e^{inϕ} dμ= s_{m,n}$, $m\in \mathbb{Z}_+$, $n\in \mathbb{Z}$, where $\{s_{m,n}\}_{m\in \mathbb{Z}_+, n\in \mathbb{Z}}$ is a given sequence of complex numbers. We present a new proof of the Devinatz solvability criterion for this moment problem. We obtained a parameterization of all solutions of Devinatz's moment problem. We used an abstract operator approach and results of Godič, Lucenko and Shtraus.

The matrix Stieltjes moment problem: a description of all solutions

We describe all solutions of the matrix Stieltjes moment problem in the general case (no conditions besides solvability are assumed). We use Krein's formula for the generalized $Π$-resolvents of positive Hermitian operators in the form of V.A Derkach and M.M. Malamud.

A description of all solutions of the matrix Hamburger moment problem in a general case

We describe all solutions of the matrix Hamburger moment problem in a general case (no conditions besides solvability are assumed). We use the fundamental results of A.V. Shtraus on the generalized resolvents of symmetric operators. All solutions of the truncated matrix Hamburger moment problem with an odd number of given moments are described in an "almost nondegenerate" case. Some conditions of solvability for the scalar truncated Hamburger moment problem with an even number of given moments are given.

On a J-polar decomposition of a bounded operator and matrix representations of J-symmetric, J-skew-symmetric operators

In this work a possibility of a decomposition of a bounded operator which acts in a Hilbert space $H$ as a product of a J-unitary and a J-self-adjoint operators is studied, $J$ is a conjugation (an antilinear involution). Decompositions of J-unitary and unitary operators which are analogous to decompositions in the finite-dimensional case are obtained. A possibility of a matrix representation for J-symmetric, J-skew-symmetric operators is studied. Also, some simple properties of J-symmetric, J-antisymmetric, J-isometric operators are obtained, a structure of a null set for a J-form is studied.
