Direct construction of scalar quantum fields by L{\'e}vy fields -- nontrivial exact Wightman fields in a wider field with a relaxed G{\aa}rding-Wightman Axioms-

This paper introduces partial results, in the current situation, of ongoing considerations corresponding to the above title. A construction on exact relativistic quantum field model with the space time dimension $d \in {\mathbb N}$, including the case where $d \geq 4$, is going to be discussed. Firstly, Hermitian scalar quantum fields $<{\cal H}, U, \psi, D>$, within a relaxed framework of the G{\aa}rding-Wightman Axioms, is constructed by making use of the stochastic calculus arguments with respect to the {\it{stationary additive random fields }} on ${\mathbb R}^d$, i.e., the {\it{L{\'e}vy random fields}} on ${\mathbb R}^d$. The first constructed $<{\cal H}, U, \psi, D>$, here, satisfy all the requirements of the the G{\aa}rding-Wightman Axioms, except that the field operators $\psi (f)$ with $f \in {\cal S}({\mathbb R}^d \to {\mathbb R})$ are symmetric operators on the physical Hilbert space ${\cal H}$, which situation is denoted here as {\it{a relaxed framework}} of the G{\aa}rding-Wightman Axioms. Secondly, by taking the adequate subspaces of ${\cal H}$, non trivial exact Wightman quantum fields, which satisfy all the requirements of the G{\aa}rding-Wightman Axioms, are constructed actually. keywords: Axiomatic quantum field theory, G{\aa}rding-Wightman axioms, Bochner-Minlos theorem, L{\'e}vy fields on ${\mathbb R}^d$.

Stochastic quantization of the three-dimensional polymer measure via the Dirichlet form method

We prove that there exists a diffusion process whose invariant measure is the three dimensional polymer measure $\nu_\lambda$ for all $\lambda>0$. We follow in part a previous incomplete unpublished work of the first named author with M. R\"ockner and X.Y. Zhou. For the construction of $\nu_\lambda$ we rely on previous work by J. Westwater, E. Bolthausen and X.Y. Zhou. Using $\nu_\lambda$, the diffusion is constructed by means of the theory of Dirichlet forms on infinite-dimensional state spaces. The closability of the appropriate pre-Dirichlet form which is of gradient type is proven, by using a general closability result in [AR89a]. This result does not require an integration by parts formula (which does not even hold for the two-dimensional polymer measure $\nu_\lambda$) but requires the quasi-invariance of $\nu_\lambda$ along a basis of vectors in the classical Cameron-Martin space such that the Radon-Nikodym derivatives have versions which form a continuous process.

Homogenization of diffusions on the lattice ${\mathbf Z}^d$ with periodic drift coefficients; Application of logarithmic Sobolev inequality

A homogenization problem of infinite dimensional diffusion processes indexed by ${\mathbf Z}^d$ having periodic drift coefficients is considered. By an application of the uniform ergodic theorem for infinite dimensional diffusion processes based on logarithmic Sobolev inequalities, an homogenization property of the processes starting from an almost every arbitrary point in the state space with respect to an invariant measure is proved. This result is also interpreted as solution to a homogenization problem of infinite dimensional diffusions with random coefficients, which is essentially analogous to the known ones in finite dimensions.

Optimal bounds on the speed of subspace evolution

By a quantum speed limit one usually understands an estimate on how fast a quantum system can evolve between two distinguishable states. The most known quantum speed limit is given in the form of the celebrated Mandelstam-Tamm inequality that bounds the speed of the evolution of a state in terms of its energy dispersion. In contrast to the basic Mandelstam-Tamm inequality, we are concerned not with a single state but with a (possibly infinite-dimensional) subspace which is subject to the Schroedinger evolution. By using the concept of maximal angle between subspaces we derive optimal bounds on the speed of such a subspace evolution. These bounds may be viewed as further generalizations of the Mandelstam-Tamm inequality. Our study includes the case of unbounded Hamiltonians.

Quantum speed limits for time evolution of a system subspace

One of the fundamental physical limits on the speed of time evolution of a quantum state is known in the form of the celebrated Mandelstam-Tamm inequality. This inequality gives an answer to the question on how fast an isolated quantum system can evolve from its initial state to an orthogonal one. In its turn, the Fleming bound is an extension of the Mandelstam-Tamm inequality that gives an optimal speed bound for the evolution between non-orthogonal initial and final states. In the present work, we are concerned not with a single state but with a whole (possibly infinite-dimensional) subspace of the system states that are subject to the Schroedinger evolution. By using the concept of maximal angle between subspaces we derive an optimal estimate on the speed of such a subspace evolution that may be viewed as a natural generalization of the Fleming bound.

Grassmannian stochastic analysis and the stochastic quantization of Euclidean Fermions

We introduce a stochastic analysis of Grassmann random variables suitable for the stochastic quantization of Euclidean fermionic quantum field theories. Analysis on Grassmann algebras is developed here from the point of view of quantum probability: a Grassmann random variable is an homomorphism of an abstract Grassmann algebra into a quantum probability space, i.e. a $C^{\ast}$-algebra endowed with a suitable state. We define the notion of Gaussian processes, Brownian motion and stochastic (partial) differential equations taking values in Grassmann algebras. We use them to study the long time behavior of finite and infinite dimensional Langevin Grassmann stochastic differential equations driven by Gaussian space-time white noise and to describe their invariant measures. As an application we give a proof of the stochastic quantization and of the removal of the space cut-off for the Euclidean Yukawa model.

Non-local Markovian symmetric forms on infinite dimensional spaces

General theorems on the closability and quasi-regularity of non-local Markovian symmetric forms on probability spaces $(S, {\cal B}(S), μ)$, with $S$ Fr{é}chet spaces such that $S \subset {\mathbb R}^{\mathbb N}$, ${\cal B}(S)$ is the Borel $σ$-field of $S$, and $μ$ is a Borel probability measure on $S$, are introduced. Firstly, a family of non-local Markovian symmetric forms ${\cal E}_{(α)}$, $0 < α< 2$, acting in each given $L^2(S; μ)$ is defined, the index $α$ characterizing the order of the non-locality. Then, it is shown that all the forms ${\cal E}_{(α)}$ defined on $\bigcup_{n \in {\mathbb N}} C^{\infty}_0({\mathbb R}^n)$ are closable in $L^2(S;μ)$. Moreover, sufficient conditions under which the closure of the closable forms, that are Dirichlet forms, become strictly quasi-regular, are given. Finally, an existence theorem for Hunt processes properly associated to the Dirichlet forms is given. The application of the above theorems to the problem of stochastic quantizations of Euclidean $Φ^4_d$ fields, for $d =2, 3$, by means of these Hunt processes is indicated.

Mean-field limit for a class of stochastic ergodic control problems

We study a family of McKean-Vlasov (mean-field) type ergodic optimal control problems with linear control, and quadratic dependence on control of the cost function. For this class of problems we establish existence and uniqueness of an optimal control. We propose an $N$-particles Markovian optimal control problem approximating the McKean-Vlasov one and we prove the convergence in relative entropy, total variation and Wasserstein distance of the law of the former to the law of the latter when $N$ goes to infinity. Some McKean-Vlasov optimal control problems with singular cost function and the relation of these problems with the mathematical theory of Bose-Einstein condensation is also established.

Non-local Markovian symmetric forms on infinite dimensional spaces; Part 2. Examples: non local stochastic quantization of space cut-off quantum fields and infinite particle systems

The general framework on the non-local Markovian symmetric forms on weighted $l^p$ $(p \in [1, \infty])$ spaces constructed by [A,Kagawa,Yahagi,Y 2020], by restricting the situation where $p =2$, is applied to such measure spaces as the space cut-off $P(ϕ)_2$ Euclidean quantum field, the $2$-dimensional Euclidean quantum fields with exponential and trigonometric potentials, and the field describing a system of an infinite number of classical particles. For each measure space, the Markov process corresponding to the {\it{non-local}} type stochastic quantization is constructed.

Construction of a non-Gaussian and rotation-invariant $\Phi ^4$-measure and associated flow on ${\mathbb R}^3$ through stochastic quantization

A new construction of non-Gaussian, rotation-invariant and reflection positive probability measures $\mu$ associated with the $\varphi ^4_3$-model of quantum field theory is presented. Our construction uses a combination of semigroup methods, and methods of stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) for finding solutions and stationary measures of the natural stochastic quantization associated with the $\varphi ^4_3$-model. Our starting point is a suitable approximation $\mu_{M,N}$ of the measure $\mu$ we intend to construct. $\mu_{M,N}$ is parametrized by an $M$-dependent space cut-off function $\rho_M: {\mathbb R}^3\rightarrow {\mathbb R}$ and an $N$-dependent momentum cut-off function $\psi_N: \widehat{\mathbb R}^3 \cong {\mathbb R}^3 \rightarrow {\mathbb R}$, that act on the interaction term (nonlinear term and counterterms). The corresponding family of stochastic quantization equations yields solutions $(X_t^{M,N}, t\geq 0)$ that have $\mu_{M,N}$ as an invariant probability measure. By a combination of probabilistic and functional analytic methods for singular stochastic differential equations on negative-indices weighted Besov spaces (with rotation invariant weights) we prove the tightness of the family of continuous processes $(X_t^{M,N},t \geq 0)_{M,N}$. Limit points in the sense of convergence in law exist, when both $M$ and $N$ diverge to $+\infty$. The limit processes $(X_t; t\geq 0)$ are continuous on the intersection of suitable Besov spaces and any limit point $\mu$ of the $\mu_{M,N}$ is a stationary measure of $X$. $\mu$ is shown to be a rotation-invariant and non-Gaussian probability measure and we provide results on its support. It is also proven that $\mu$ satisfies a further important property belonging to the family of axioms for Euclidean quantum fields, it is namely reflection positive.

The invariant measure and the flow associated to the $Φ^4_3$-quantum field model

We give a direct construction of invariant measures and global flows for the stochastic quantization equation to the quantum field theoretical $Φ^4_3$-model on the $3$-dimensional torus. This stochastic equation belongs to a class of singular stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) presently intensively studied, especially after Hairer's groundbreaking work on regularity structures. Our direct construction exhibits invariant measures and flows as limits of the (unique) invariant measures for corresponding finite dimensional approximation equations. Our work is done in the setting of distributional Besov spaces, adapting semigroup techniques for solving nonlinear dissipative parabolic equations on such spaces and using methods that originated from work by Gubinelli et al on paracontrolled distributions for singular SPDEs.

Singular perturbations and asymptotic expansions for SPDEs with an application to term structure models

We study the dependence of mild solutions to linear stochastic evolution equations on Hilbert space driven by Wiener noise, with drift having linear part of the type $A+\varepsilon G$, on the parameter $\varepsilon$. In particular, we study the limit and the asymptotic expansions in powers of $\varepsilon$ of these solutions, as well as of functionals thereof, as $\varepsilon \to 0$, with good control on the remainder. These convergence and series expansion results are then applied to a parabolic perturbation of the Musiela SPDE of mathematical finance modeling the dynamics of forward rates.

The elliptic stochastic quantization of some two dimensional Euclidean QFTs

We study a class of elliptic SPDEs with additive Gaussian noise on $\mathbb{R}^2 \times M$, with $M$ a $d$-dimensional manifold equipped with a positive Radon measure, and a real-valued non linearity given by the derivative of a smooth potential $V$, convex at infinity and growing at most exponentially. For quite general coefficients and a suitable regularity of the noise we obtain, via the dimensional reduction principle discussed in our previous paper on the topic, the identity between the law of the solution to the SPDE evaluated at the origin with a Gibbs type measure on the abstract Wiener space $L^2 (M)$. The results are then applied to the elliptic stochastic quantization equation for the scalar field with polynomial interaction over $\mathbb{T}^2$, and with exponential interaction over $\mathbb{R}^2$ (known also as Høeg-Krohn or Liouville model in the literature). In particular for the exponential interaction case, the existence and uniqueness properties of solutions to the elliptic equation over $\mathbb{R}^{2 + 2}$ is derived as well as the dimensional reduction for the values of the ``charge parameter'' $σ= \fracα{2\sqrtπ} < \sqrt{4 \left( 8 - 4 \sqrt{3} \right) π} \simeq \sqrt{4.23π}$, for which the model has an Euclidean invariant probability measure (hence also permitting to get the corresponding relativistic invariant model on the two dimensional Minkowski space).

The Birman-Schwinger Operator for a Parabolic Quantum Well in a Zero-Thickness Layer in the Presence of a Two-Dimensional Attractive Gaussian Impurity

In this note we consider a quantum mechanical particle moving inside an infinitesimally thin layer constrained by a parabolic well in the $x$-direction and, moreover, in the presence of an impurity modelled by an attractive Gaussian potential. We investigate the Birman-Schwinger operator associated to a model assuming the presence of a Gaussian impurity inside the layer and prove that such an integral operator is Hilbert-Schmidt, which allows the use of the modified Fredholm determinant in order to compute the bound states created by the impurity. Furthermore, we consider the case where the Gaussian potential degenerates to a $δ$-potential in the $x$-direction and a Gaussian potential in the $y$-direction. We construct the corresponding self-adjoint Hamiltonian and prove that it is the limit in the norm resolvent sense of a sequence of corresponding Hamiltonians with suitably scaled Gaussian potentials. Satisfactory bounds on the ground state energies of all Hamiltonians involved are exhibited.

Strong uniqueness for Dirichlet operators related to stochastic quantization under exponential/trigonometric interactions on the two-dimensional torus

We consider space-time quantum fields with exponential/trigonometric interactions. In the context of Euclidean quantum field theory, the former and the latter are called the Hoegh-Krohn model and the Sine-Gordon model, respectively. The main objective of the present paper is to construct infinite dimensional diffusion processes which solve modified stochastic quantization equations for these quantum fields on the two-dimensional torus by the Dirichlet form approach and to prove strong uniqueness of the corresponding Dirichlet operators.

Asymptotics of random resonances generated by a point process of delta-interactions

We introduce and study the following model for random resonances: we take a collection of point interactions $Υ_j$ generated by a simple finite point process in the 3-D space and consider the resonances of associated random Schrödinger Hamiltonians $H_Υ= -Δ+ ``\sum \mathfrak{m}(α) δ(x - Υ_j)``$. These resonances are zeroes of a random exponential polynomial, and so form a point process $Σ(H_Υ)$ in the complex plane $\mathbb{C}$. We show that the counting function for the set of random resonances $Σ(H_Υ)$ in $\mathbb{C}$-discs with growing radii possesses Weyl-type asymptotics almost surely for a uniform binomial process $Υ$, and obtain an explicit formula for the limiting distribution as $m \to \infty$ of the leading parameter of the asymptotic chain of `most narrow' resonances generated by a sequence of uniform binomial processes $Υ^m$ with $m$ points. We also pose a general question about the limiting behavior of the point process formed by leading parameters of asymptotic sequences of resonances. Our study leads to questions about metric characteristics for the combinatorial geometry of $m$ samples of a random point in the 3-D space and related statistics of extreme values.
