Observational Constraints on Emergent Fractional Fractal Cosmology

We constrain the Emergent Fractional Fractal (EFF) cosmological model through a joint likelihood analysis of recent cosmological observations at the background and perturbation levels. In this framework, an effective fractal dimension $d$ is introduced to parameterize possible fractional deviations from the standard cosmological model. We consider three combinations of datasets: (i) late-time (LT) observations including PantheonPlus Type Ia supernovae, $H(z)$ measurements, and growth-rate measurements $fσ_8$; (ii) LT combined with DESI DR2 BAO and Big Bang nucleosynthesis (BBN); and (iii) LT combined with DESI DR2 BAO and CMB distance priors. With the inclusion of CMB distance priors, the fractal dimension is constrained to $d = 2.0004^{+0.0006}_{-0.0003}$ at the $1σ$ confidence level. Model comparison using the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) shows that the EFF and $Λ$CDM models fit the observational data equally well, while the Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC) favors the simpler $Λ$CDM model because of its smaller parameter space. These results show that current cosmological observations place strong constraints on fractal extensions of the standard cosmological framework and possible deviations from the $Λ$CDM model.

Quantum Cosmology in $f(R, T)$ Theory with Schutz's Perfect Fluid

The $f(R, T)$ theory of gravity extends general relativity (GR) by allowing the gravitational Lagrangian to depend on both the Ricci scalar $R$ and the trace of the energy-momentum tensor $T$. The resulting matter-geometry coupling introduces additional dynamical effects that may account for the late-time acceleration of the universe without invoking dark energy. In the present work, we focus instead on the early-time regime and investigate the corresponding quantum cosmological dynamics. We analyze a Friedmann--Lemaitre--Robertson--Walker (FLRW) universe within the $f(R, T)$ framework, employing Schutz's perfect fluid formalism to extract a time parameter emerging from the matter sector itself. This approach is particularly well motivated in $f(R, T)$ gravity, where the coupling between geometry and the energy-momentum tensor's trace makes matter an active participant in the dynamics of spacetime and the evolution of cosmic time. The gravitational Hamiltonian, canonical momenta, and potential are derived, leading to the corresponding Schrödinger--Wheeler--DeWitt (SWDW) equation. The wave function of the universe is obtained for specific forms of $f(R, T)$, and the results are compared with previous studies in $f(R)$ and $f(R, T)$ models, highlighting the role of matter-geometry coupling in the emergence of quantum cosmological dynamics.

Estimated Age of the Universe in Fractional Cosmology

Our proposed cosmological framework, which is based on fractional quantum cosmology, aims to address the issue of synchronicity in the age of the universe. To achieve this, we have developed a new fractional $Λ$CDM cosmological model. We obtained the necessary formalism by obtaining the fractional Hamiltonian constraint in a general minisuperspace. This formalism has allowed us to derive the fractional Friedmann and Raychaudhuri equations for a homogeneous and isotropic cosmology. Unlike the traditional de Sitter phase, our model exhibits a power-law accelerated expansion in the late-time universe, when vacuum energy becomes dominant. By fitting the model's parameters to cosmological observations, we determined that the fractional parameter of Lévy equals $α=1.986$. Additionally, we have calculated the age of the universe to be 13.8196 Gyr. Furthermore, we have found that the ratio of the age to Hubble time from the present epoch to the distant future is finite and confined within the interval $0.9858\leq Ht<95.238$.

The shadows of quantum gravity on Bell's inequality

This study delves into the validity of quantum mechanical operators in the context of quantum gravity, recognizing the potential need for their generalization. A primary objective is to investigate the repercussions of these generalizations on the inherent non-locality within quantum mechanics, as exemplified by Bell's inequality. Additionally, the study scrutinizes the consequences of introducing a non-zero minimal length into the established framework of Bell's inequality. The findings contribute significantly to our theoretical comprehension of the intricate interplay between quantum mechanics and gravity. Moreover, this research explores the impact of quantum gravity on Bell's inequality and its practical applications within quantum technologies, notably in the realms of device-independent protocols, quantum key distribution, and quantum randomness generation.

Intrinsic quantum dynamics of particles in brane gravity

The Newtonian dynamics of particles in brane gravity is investigated. Due to the coupling of the particles' energy-momentum tensor to the tension of the brane, the particle is semi-confined and oscillates along the extra dimension. We demonstrate that the frequency of these oscillations is proportional to the kinetic energy of the particle in the brane. We show that the classical stability of particle trajectories on the brane gives us the Bohr--Sommerfeld quantization condition. The particle's motion along the extra dimension allows us to formulate a geometrical version of the uncertainty principle. Furthermore, we exhibited that the particle's motion along the extra dimension is identical to the time-independent Schrödinger equation. The dynamics of a free particle, particles in a box, a harmonic oscillator, a bouncing particle, and tunneling are re-examined. We show that the particle's motion along the extra dimension yields a quantized energy spectrum for bound states.

Null geodesic of Schwarzschild AdS with Gaussian matter distribution

One of the best ways to understand the gravitation of a massive object is by studying the photon's motion around it. We study the null geodesic of a regular black hole in anti-de Sitter spacetime, including a Gaussian matter distribution. Obtaining the effective potential and possible motions of the photon are discussed for different energy levels. The nature of the effective potential implies that the photon is prevented from reaching the black hole's center. Different types of possible orbits are considered. A photon with negative energy is trapped in a potential hole and has a back and forth motion between two horizons of the metric. However, for specific values of positive energy, the trapped photon still has a back and forth motion; however, it crosses the horizons in every direction. The effective potential has an unstable point outside the horizons, which indicates the possible circular motion of the photon. The closest approach of the photon and the bending angle are also investigated.

Revisiting Scalar Tensor inflation by swampland criteria and Reheating

The scenario of the slow-roll inflation is studied in the frame of the scalar-tensor theory of gravity where the scalar field has a non-minimal coupling to the geometric part. After deriving the main dynamical and perturbation equations, the model is investigated in detail for different functions of the potential and the coupling function. Considering the consistency of the model with observational model results into specific ranges for the free constants of the model. Then, the obtained ranges are reconsidered to realize whether they satisfy the swampland criteria. It is found that the swampland criteria impose another limitation and reduce the ranges. Using the final outcomes for the free constants of the model, we briefly consider the reheating phase to find out about the number of e-fold for the phase and the reheating temperature.

Collapse and dispersal of a homogeneous spin fluid in Einstein-Cartan theory

In the present work, we revisit the process of gravitational collapse of a spherically symmetric homogeneous dust fluid which is known as the Oppenheimer-Snyder (OS) model [1]. We show that such a scenario would not end in a spacetime singularity when the spin degrees of freedom of fermionic particles within the collapsing cloud are taken into account. To this purpose, we take the matter content of the stellar object as a homogeneous Weyssenhoff fluid which is a generalization of perfect fluid in general relativity (GR) to include the spin of matter. Employing the homogeneous and isotropic FLRW metric for the interior spacetime setup, it is shown that the spin of matter, in the context of a negative pressure, acts against the pull of gravity and decelerates the dynamical evolution of the collapse in its later stages. Our results bode a picture of gravitational collapse in which the collapse process halts at a finite radius whose value depends on the initial configuration. We thus show that the spacetime singularity that occurs in the OS model is replaced by a non-singular bounce beyond which the collapsing cloud re-expands to infinity. Depending on the model parameters, one can find a minimum value for the boundary of the collapsing cloud or correspondingly a threshold value for the mass content below which the horizon formation can be avoided. Our results are supported by a thorough numerical analysis.

Deviation from the Standard Uncertainty Principle and the Dark Energy Problem

Quantum fluctuations of a real massless scalar field are studied in the context of the Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP). The dynamical finite vacuum energy is found in spatially flat Friedmann-Robertson- Walker (FRW) spacetime which can be identified as dark energy to explain late time cosmic speed-up. The results show that a tiny deviation from the standard uncertainty principle is necessary on cosmological ground. By using the observational data we have constraint the GUP parameter even more stronger than ever.

Signature transition in Einstein-Cartan cosmology

In the context of Einstein-Cartan theory of gravity, we consider a Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) cosmological model with Weyssenhoff perfect fluid. We focus attention on those classical solutions that admit a degenerate metric in which the scale factor has smooth behavior in the transition from a Euclidean to a Lorentzian domain. It is shown that the spin-spin contact interaction enables one to obtain such a signature changing solutions due to the Riemann-Cartan ($U_4$) structure of space-time.

Quantization of the interior Schwarzschild black hole

We study a Hamiltonian quantum formalism of a spherically symmetric space-time which can be identified with the interior of a Schwarzschild black hole. The phase space of this model is spanned by two dynamical variables and their conjugate momenta. It is shown that the classical Lagrangian of the model gives rise the interior metric of a Schwarzschild black hole. We also show that the the mass of such a system is a Dirac observable and then by quantization of the model by Wheeler-DeWitt approach and constructing suitable wave packets we get the mass spectrum of the black hole.
