Geometry of skew information-based quantum coherence

We study the skew information-based coherence of quantum states and derive explicit formulas for Werner states and isotropic states in a set of autotensor of mutually unbiased bases (AMUBs). We also give surfaces of skew information-based coherence for Bell-diagonal states and a special class of X states in both computational basis and in mutually unbiased bases. Moreover, we depict the surfaces of the skew information-based coherence for Bell-diagonal states under various types of local nondissipative quantum channels. The results show similar as well as different features compared with relative entropy of coherence and l1 norm of coherence.

Uncertainty and complementarity relations based on generalized skew information

Uncertainty relations and complementarity relations are core issues in quantum mechanics and quantum information theory. By use of the generalized Wigner-Yanase-Dyson (GWYD) skew information, we derive several uncertainty and complementarity relations with respect to mutually unbiased measurements (MUMs), and general symmetric informationally complete positive operator valued measurements (SIC-POVMs), respectively. Our results include some existing ones as particular cases. We also exemplify our results by providing a detailed example.

Quantum Discord for multiqubit Systems

We evaluate analytically the quantum discord for a large family of multiqubit states. It is interesting to note that the quantum discord of three-qubits and five-qubits is the same, as is the quantum discord of two-qubits and six-qubits. We discover that the quantum discord of this family states can be concluded into three categories. The level surfaces of the quantum discord in the three categories is shown through images. Furthermore, we investigated the dynamic behavior of quantum discord under decoherence. For the odd partite systems, we prove the frozen phenomenon of quantum discord doesn't exist under the phase flip channel, while it can be found in the even partite systems.

Geometric Discord for Multi-qubit Systems

Radhakrishnan \emph{et.al} [Phys. Rev. Lett. \textbf{124}, 110401 (2020)] proposed quantum discord to multipartite systems and derived explicit formulae for any states. These results are significant in capturing quantum correlations for multi-qubit systems. In this paper, we evaluate the geometric measure of multipartite quantum discord and obtain results for a large family of multi-qubit states. %Intriguingly, our results demonstrate that for the family of states, multipartite geometric discord decreases exponentially as the number of parties increases while multipartite quantum discord not, therefore, we conclude that multipartite geometric discord could not reflect multipartite quantum discord in all cases. Furthermore, we investigated the dynamic behavior of geometric discord for the family of two-, three- and four-qubit states under phase noise acting on the first qubit. And we discover that sudden change of multipartite geometric discord can appear when phase noise act only on one part of the two-, three- and four-qubit states.

Maximum Relative Entropy of Coherence for Quantum Channels

Based on the resource theory for quantifying the coherence of quantum channels, we introduce a new coherence quantifier for quantum channels via maximum relative entropy. We prove that the maximum relative entropy for coherence of quantum channels is directly related to the maximally coherent channels under a particular class of superoperations, which results in an operational interpretation of the maximum relative entropy for coherence of quantum channels. We also introduce the conception of sub-superchannels and sub-superchannel discrimination. For any quantum channels, we show that the advantage of quantum channels in sub-superchannel discrimination can be exactly characterized by the maximum relative entropy of coherence for quantum channels. Similar to the maximum relative entropy of coherence for channels, the robustness of coherence for quantum channels has also been investigated. We show that the maximum relative entropy of coherence for channels provides new operational interpretations of robustness of coherence for quantum channels and illustrates the equivalence of the dephasing-covariant superchannels, incoherent superchannels, and strictly incoherent superchannels in these two operational tasks.

Tomographic Witnessing and Holographic Quantifying of Coherence

The detection and quantification of quantum coherence play significant roles in quantum information processing. We present an efficient way of tomographic witnessing for both theoretical and experimental detection of coherence. We prove that a coherence witness is optimal if and only if all of its diagonal elements are zero. Naturally, we obtain a bona fide homographic measure of coherence given by the sum of the absolute values of the real and the imaginary parts of the non-diagonal entries of a density matrix, together with its interesting relations with other coherence measures like $l_1$ norm coherence and robust of coherence.

A generalised multipath delayed-choice experiment on a large-scale quantum nanophotonic chip

Famous double-slit or double-path experiments, implemented in a Young's or Mach-Zehnder interferometer, have confirmed the dual nature of quantum matter, When a stream of photons, neutrons, atoms, or molecules, passes through two slits, either wave-like interference fringes build up on a screen, or particle-like which-path distribution can be ascertained. These quantum objects exhibit both wave and particle properties but exclusively, depending on the way they are measured. In an equivalent Mach-Zehnder configuration, the object displays either wave or particle nature in the presence or absence of a beamsplitter, respectively, that represents the choice of which-measurement. Wheeler further proposed a gedanken experiment, in which the choice of which-measurement is delayed, i.e. determined after the object has already entered the interferometer, so as to exclude the possibility of predicting which-measurement it will confront. The delayed-choice experiments have enabled significant demonstrations of genuine two-path duality of different quantum objects. Recently, a quantum controlled version of delayed-choice was proposed by Ionicioiu and Terno, by introducing a quantum-controlled beamsplitter that is in a coherent superposition of presence and absence. It represents a controllable experiment platform that can not only reveal wave and particle characters, but also their superposition. Moreover, a quantitative description of two-slit duality relation was initialized in Wootters and Zurek's seminal work and formalized by Greenberger,et. al. as D2+V2<=1, where D is the distinguishability of whichpath information, and V is the contrast visibility of interference. In this regard, getting which-path information exclusively reduces the interference visibility, and vice versa. This double-path duality relation has been tested in pioneer experiments and recently in delayed-choice measurements.

Stronger superadditivity relations for multiqubit systems

Superadditivity relations characterize the distributions of coherence in multipartite quantum systems. In this work, we investigate the superadditivity relations related to the $l_1$-norm of coherence $C_{l_1}$ in multiqubit quantum systems. Tighter superadditivity inequalities based on the $α$-th ($α\geqslant 1$) power of $l_1$-norm of coherence are presented for multiqubit states under certain conditions, which include the existing results as special cases. These superadditivity relations give rise to finer characterization of the coherence distributions among the subsystems of a multipartite system. A detailed example is presented.

Quantum k-uniform states for heterogeneous systems from irredundant mixed orthogonal arrays

Quantum multipartite entangled states play significant roles in quantum information processing. By using difference schemes and orthogonal partitions, we construct a series of infinite classes of irredundant mixed orthogonal arrays (IrMOAs) and thus provide positive answers to two open problems. The first is the extension of the method for constructing homogeneous systems from orthogonal arrays (OAs) to heterogeneous multipartite systems with different individual levels. The second is the existence of $k$-uniform states in heterogeneous quantum systems. We present explicit constructions of two and three-uniform states for arbitrary heterogeneous multipartite systems with coprime individual levels, and characterize the entangled states in heterogeneous systems consisting of subsystems with nonprime power dimensions as well. Moreover, we obtain infinite classes of $k$-uniform states for heterogeneous multipartite systems for any $k\geq2$. The non-existence of a class of IrMOAs is also proved.

Sharing quantum nonlocality and genuine nonlocality with independent observables

Recently the authors in [Phys. Rev. Lett. 125, 090401 (2020)] considered the following scenario: Alice and Bob each have half of a pair of entangled qubit state. Bob measures his half and then passes his part to a second Bob who measures again and so on. The goal is to maximize the number of Bobs that can have an expected violation of the Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) inequality with the single Alice. By taking the maximally entangled pure two-qubit state as an example, it has been constructively proved that arbitrarily many independent Bobs can share the nonlocality with the single Alice. Here we demonstrate that arbitrarily many independent observers can share the nonlocality of a single arbitrary dimensional bipartite entangled but not necessary two-qubit entangled state. Further, taking the generalized GHZ states as an example, we show that at most two Charlies can share the genuine nonlocality of a single generalized GHZ state with an Alice and a Bob.

Coherence of assistance and assisted maximally coherent states

Coherence and entanglement are fundamental concepts in resource theory. The coherence (entanglement) of assistance is the coherence (entanglement) that can be extracted assisted by another party with local measurement and classical communication. We introduce and study the general coherence of assistance. First, in terms of real symmetric concave functions on the probability simplex, the coherence of assistance and the entanglement of assistance are shown to be in one-to-one correspondence. We then introduce two classes of quantum states: the assisted maximally coherent states and the assisted maximally entangled states. They can be transformed into maximally coherent or entangled pure states with the help of another party using local measurement and classical communication. We give necessary conditions for states to be assisted maximally coherent or assisted maximally entangled. Based on these, a unified framework between coherence and entanglement including coherence (entanglement) measures, coherence (entanglement) of assistance, coherence (entanglement) resources is proposed. Then we show that the coherence of assistance as well as entanglement of assistance are strictly larger than the coherence of convex roof and entanglement of convex roof for all full rank density matrices. So all full rank quantum states are distillable in the assisted coherence distillation.

Average skew information-based coherence and its typicality for random quantum states

We study the average skew information-based coherence for both random pure and mixed states. The explicit formulae of the average skew information-based coherence are derived and shown to be the functions of the dimension N of the state space. We demonstrate that as N approaches to infinity, the average coherence is 1 for random pure states, and a positive constant less than 1/2 for random mixed states. We also explore the typicality of average skew information-based coherence of random quantum states. Furthermore, we identify a coherent subspace such that the amount of the skew information-based coherence for each pure state in this subspace can be bounded from below almost always by a fixed number that is arbitrarily close to the typical value of coherence.

A new parameterized entanglement monotone

Entanglement concurrence has been widely used for featuring entanglement in quantum experiments. As an entanglement monotone it is related to specific quantum Tsallis entropy. Our goal in this paper is to propose a new parameterized bipartite entanglement monotone which is named as $q$-concurrence inspired by general Tsallis entropy. We derive an analytical lower bound for the $q$-concurrence of any bipartite quantum entanglement state by employing positive partial transposition criterion and realignment criterion, which shows an interesting relationship to the strong separability criteria. The new entanglement monotone is used to characterize bipartite isotropic states. Finally, we provide a computational method to estimate the $q$-concurrence for any entanglement by superposing two bipartite pure states. It shows that the superposition operations can at most increase one ebit for the $q$-concurrence in the case that the two states being superposed are bi-orthogonal or one-sided orthogonal. These results reveal a series of new phenomena about the entanglement, which may be interesting in quantum communication and quantum information processing.

Entanglement Witnesses Based on Symmetric Informationally Complete Measurements

We study entanglement witness and present a construction of entanglement witnesses in terms of the symmetric informationally complete measurements (SIC-POVM). The capability of our witness is shown by some examples and it can be found this witness detects more entanglement than previous separability method given also by SIC-POVM. What's more, comparing with the dimension dependence of SIC-POVM, we also give the entanglement witnesses can be always constructed from general symmetric informationally complete measurements (GSIC-POVM).

Quantifying quantum coherence based on the Tsallis relative operator entropy

Coherence is a fundamental ingredient in quantum physics and a key resource in quantum information processing. The quantification of quantum coherence is of great importance. We present a family of coherence quantifiers based on the Tsallis relative operator entropy. Shannon inequality and its reverse one in Hilbert space operators derived by Furuta [Linear Algebra Appl. 381 (2004) 219] are extended in terms of the parameter of the Tsallis relative operator entropy. These quantifiers are shown to satisfy all the standard criteria for a well-defined measure of coherence and include some existing coherence measures as special cases. Detailed examples are given to show the relations among the measures of quantum coherence.

Improved monogamy relations with concurrence of assistance and negativity of assistance for multiqubit W-class states

Monogamy relations characterize the distributions of entanglement in multipartite systems. We investigate the monogamy relations satisfied by the concurrence of assistance and the negativity of assistance for multiqubit generalized $W$-class states. Analytical monogamy inequalities are presented for both concurrence of assistance and negativity of assistance, which are shown to be tighter than the existing ones. Detailed examples have been presented.

Tighter generalized monogamy and polygamy relations for multiqubit systems

We present a different kind of monogamy and polygamy relations based on concurrence and concurrence of assistance for multiqubit systems. By relabeling the subsystems associated with different weights, a smaller upper bound of the $α$th ($0\leqα\leq2$) power of concurrence for multiqubit states is obtained. We also present tighter monogamy relations satisfied by the $α$th ($0\leqα\leq2$) power of concurrence for $N$-qubit pure states under the partition $AB$ and $C_1 . . . C_{N-2}$, as well as under the partition $ABC_1$ and $C_2\cdots C_{N-2}$. These inequalities give rise to the restrictions on entanglement distribution and the trade off of entanglement among the subsystems. Similar results are also derived for negativity.

Monogamy relations of all quantum correlation measures for multipartite quantum systems

The monogamy relations of quantum correlation restrict the sharability of quantum correlations in multipartite quantum states. We show that all measures of quantum correlations satisfy some kind of monogamy relations for arbitrary multipartite quantum states. Moreover, by introducing residual quantum correlations, we present tighter monogamy inequalities that are better than all the existing ones. In particular, for multi-qubit pure states, we also establish new monogamous relations based on the concurrence and concurrence of assistance under the partition of the first two qubits and the remaining ones.
