Enhanced separability criteria based on symmetric measurements

We present separability criteria based on local symmetric measurements. These experimental plausible criteria are shown to be more efficient in detecting entanglement than the current counterparts by detailed examples. Furthermore, we generalize the separability criteria from bipartite to arbitrary multipartite systems. These criteria establish a richer connection between the quantum entanglement and the probabilities of local measurement outcomes.

Enhancing Quantum Metrology with High-order Fisher Information and Experiments

Fisher information plays a central role in statistics and quantum metrology, providing the basis for the celebrated Cramér-Rao bound. In this work, we introduce a new information measure based on higher-order Fisher information and show that it naturally leads to a generalized uncertainty relation for parameter estimation, which can be regarded as an extension of the Cramér-Rao bound. As an application, we analyze the case of quantum phase estimation with a single qubit and compare our theoretical bounds with the well-known established hierarchical bounds. Finally, we experimentally validate the proposed framework using a photonic platform.

Impact of the Unruh effect on the estimation precision of Gaussian channel parameters

Gaussian quantum channels constitute a pivotal physical framework for characterizing the dynamics of Gaussian quantum states. Extensive scholarly attention has been devoted to the estimation of parameters associated with Gaussian channels. However, while previous research has predominantly focused on parameter estimation within inertial frames, the noninertial scenario, particularly in the context of the Unruh effect, remains largely unexplored. In this paper, we analyze the impact of the Unruh effect on the estimation precision of Gaussian channel parameters, with a specific focus on thermal attenuator and thermal amplifier channels. Our findings reveal that the Unruh effect significantly degrades the precision of single-parameter estimation for Gaussian channel parameters when employing both the input coherent state and squeezed vacuum state. For the two-parameter estimation, we further demonstrate that the quantum Cramér-Rao bound serves as an asymptotically achievable precision limit. Consistent with the single-parameter case, the Unruh effect exerts a detrimental impact on the precision of two-parameter estimation. Notably, heterodyne measurement is near-optimal for both single- and two-parameter estimation in the limit of high acceleration or large thermal mean numbers. These results provide crucial theoretical insights and practical guidance for advancing quantum parameter estimation in a relativistic context.

Testing Genuine Multipartite Nonlocality via an Inflated Network with Multi-copy Entangled States

Understanding the nonlocality of multipartite quantum systems provides valuable insights into their behaviors and potential applications. In this Letter, assuming a quantum network inflated with multiple copies of genuine multipartite entangled states, we propose a novel noise-robust approach to test the genuine multipartite nonlocality inherent in each copy under Svetlichny's biseparable model. This extends Gisin's Theorem to an arbitrary number of parties, establishing the equivalence among genuine multipartite nonlocality, genuine multipartite steering, and genuine multipartite entanglement for all multipartite pure states under multiple copies assumption. In the experiment, we employ a hybrid photonic quantum network to verify the genuine tripartite nonlocality of generalized Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) and W states beyond previously explored parameter regimes. This work not only offers a unified robust method on exploring multipartite quantum correlations, but also opens a new avenue for studying genuine multipartite nonlocality through network-distributed multi-copy quantum states and different network topologies.

Quantum separability criteria from bipartite systems to multipartite systems based on generalized Bloch representation

Quantum entanglement serves as a fundamental resource in quantum information theory. This paper presents a comprehensive framework of separability criteria for detecting bipartite and multipartite entanglements. We construct a novel parameterized extended correlation tensor via the generalized Bloch representation under an arbitrary orthogonal basis, which improves the performance of entanglement detection. Moreover, we employ the generalized matrix unfolding to generalize the extended correlation tensor construction to multipartite systems, obtaining separability criteria for multipartite entanglement. Detailed examples demonstrate that our separability criteria exhibit enhanced capability in detecting entanglement.

Coherence dynamics in Simon's quantum algorithm

Quantum coherence plays a pivotal role in quantum algorithms. We study the coherence dynamics of the evolved states in Simon's quantum algorithm based on Tsallis relative $α$ entropy and $l_{1,p}$ norm. We prove that the coherences of the first register and the second register both rely on the dimension $N$ of the state spaces of the $n$ qubit systems, and increase with the increase of $N$. We show that the oracle operator $O$ does not change the coherence. Moreover, we study the coherence dynamics in the Simon's quantum algorithm and prove that in overall the coherence is in production when $N>4$ and in depletion when $N<4$.

Coherence dynamics in quantum algorithm for linear systems of equations

Quantum coherence is a fundamental issue in quantum mechanics and quantum information processing. We explore the coherence dynamics of the evolved states in HHL quantum algorithm for solving the linear system of equation $A\overrightarrow{x}=\overrightarrow{b}$. By using the Tsallis relative $α$ entropy of coherence and the $l_{1,p}$ norm of coherence, we show that the operator coherence of the phase estimation $P$ relies on the coefficients $β_{i}$ obtained by decomposing $|b\rangle$ in the eigenbasis of $A$. We prove that the operator coherence of the inverse phase estimation $\widetilde{P}$ relies on the coefficients $β_{i}$, eigenvalues of $A$ and the success probability $P_{s}$, and it decreases with the increase of the probability when $α\in(1,2]$. Moreover, the variations of coherence deplete with the increase of the success probability and rely on the eigenvalues of $A$ as well as the success probability.

Tsallis relative $α$ entropy of coherence dynamics in Grover's search algorithm

Quantum coherence plays a central role in Grover's search algorithm. We study the Tsallis relative $α$ entropy of coherence dynamics of the evolved state in Grover's search algorithm. We prove that the Tsallis relative $α$ entropy of coherence decreases with the increase of the success probability, and derive the complementarity relations between the coherence and the success probability. We show that the operator coherence of the first $H^{\otimes n}$ relies on the size of the database $N$, the success probability and the target states. Moreover, we illustrate the relationships between coherence and entanglement of the superposition state of targets, as well as the production and deletion of coherence in Grover iterations.

Coherence and entanglement dynamics in Shor's algorithm

Shor's algorithm outperforms its classical counterpart in efficient prime factorization. We explore the coherence and entanglement dynamics of the evolved states within Shor's algorithm, showing that the coherence in each step relies on the dimension of register or the order, and discuss the relations between geometric coherence and geometric entanglement. We investigate how unitary operators induce variations in coherence and entanglement, and analyze the variations of coherence and entanglement within the entire algorithm, demonstrating that the overall effect of Shor's algorithm tends to deplete coherence and produce entanglement. Our research not only deepens the understanding of this algorithm but also provides methodological references for studying resource dynamics in other quantum algorithms.

Tighter entropic uncertainty relations in the presence of quantum memories for complete sets of mutually unbiased bases

Entropic uncertainty relations provide an information-theoretic framework for quantifying the fundamental indeterminacy inherent in quantum mechanics. We propose more stringent quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty relations for complete sets of mutually unbiased bases in multipartite scenarios. We present lower and upper bounds of the quantum uncertainties based on the complementarity of the observables, the purity of the measured state, the (conditional) von-Neumann entropies, the Holevo quantities and mutual information. The results are illustrated by several representative cases, showing that our bounds are tighter than and outperform previously existing bounds.

Simultaneous Detection of High-Dimensional Entanglement for Two Unknown Quantum States

The state overlap, quantified via $\tr[ρσ]$, is a metric widely used to assess the closeness between two quantum states $ρ$ and $σ$. Although global state overlap alone does not directly capture entanglement properties, we uncover that incorporating local state overlaps provide profound insights into the entanglement characteristics of quantum states. To be precise, the ratio of global to local state overlaps provides a lower bound on the Schmidt number, which is usually used for quantifying high-dimensional entanglement. Unlike conventional methods for detecting entanglement, the approach here can simultaneously reveal entanglement information for two unknown quantum states. Moreover, state overlap can be efficiently determined through local randomized measurement methods, which ensures the experimental feasibility of our approach. In a special case, our criterion reduces to an entanglement criterion that is more powerful than the two criteria used most in experiment--the purity criterion and the fidelity-based criterion and also outperform the $p_3$-PPT method in specific instances. Our findings highlight a promising direction for advancements in entanglement detection experiments.

Variational Quantum Algorithm for Constrained Combinatorial Optimization Problems

While variational quantum algorithms (VQAs) have demonstrated considerable success in unconstrained optimization, their application to constrained combinatorial problems face a trade-off. Penalty-based methods, despite their circuit simplicity, suffer from a fundamental limitation: inefficient sampling in vast infeasible regions. This often results in suboptimal solutions that violate constraints and impede convergence to high-quality results. In contrast, ansatz-based approaches enforce solution feasibility by design but require complex, problem-specific circuits that are challenging to implement on current noisy intermediate-scale quantum devices. To overcome these limitations, we introduce an alternative VQA whose core innovation lies in a strategically designed loss function. This function offers a dual advantage. First, it is provably guaranteed that its global minimum corresponds uniquely to the optimal feasible solution, as this is achieved by ensuring universally higher loss values for all infeasible solutions. Second, it furnishes distinct computational pathways for feasible versus infeasible regions, thus creating clear and non competing guidance for the optimizer. As a result of these combined features, the algorithm's overall performance is significantly enhanced. Regarding hardware overhead, our design requires adding only an efficient validation oracle module to the penalty-based circuit, resulting in a circuit complexity significantly lower than that of ansatz-based approaches with their custom mixers. To validate the practical efficiency of our method, we empirically demonstrate its effectiveness by solving minimum vertex cover and maximum independent set problems on random graphs of varying small-scale sizes.

Variational quantum algorithm for generalized eigenvalue problems of non-Hermitian systems

Non-Hermitian generalized eigenvalue problems (GEPs) play a significant role in many practical applications, such as mechanical engineering. Based on the generalized Schur decomposition, we propose a variational quantum algorithm for solving the GEPs in non-Hermitian systems. The algorithm transforms the generalized eigenvalue problem into a process of searching for unitary transformation matrices. We demonstrate a method for evaluating both the loss function and its gradients on near-term quantum devices. We validate numerically the algorithm's performance through simulations, and demonstrate its application to GEPs in ocean acoustics. The algorithm's robustness is further confirmed through noise simulations.

Detecting high-dimensional entanglement by randomized product projections

The characterization of high-dimensional entanglement plays a crucial role in the field of quantum information science. Conventional entanglement criteria measuring coherent superpositions of multiple basis states face experimental bottlenecks on most physical platforms due to limited multi-channel control. Here, we introduce a practically efficient detection strategy based on randomized product projections. We show that the first-order moments of such projections can be used to estimate entanglement fidelity, thereby enabling practical and efficient certification of the Schmidt number in high-dimensional bipartite systems. By constructing optimal observables, it is sufficient to merely measure a single basis state, substantially reducing experimental overhead. Moreover, we present an algorithm to obtain a lower bound of the Schmidt number with a high confidence level from a limited number of experimental data. Our results open up resource-efficient experimental avenues to detect high-dimensional entanglement and test its implementations in modern information technologies.

Machine learning-aided direct estimation of coherence and entanglement for unknown states

Quantum coherence and entanglement are fundamental resources in quantum technologies, yet their efficient estimation for unknown states by employing minimal resources in experimental settings remains challenging, particularly in high-dimensional systems. We present a machine learning approach based on support vector regression (SVR) that directly estimates the coherence measures and the geometric measure of quantum entanglement using minimal experimental resources. Our method requires only the diagonal entries of the density matrix, along with the traces of the squared and cubed density matrices for quantum coherence, and additionally along with the traces of the squared and cubed reduced density matrix for estimating quantum entanglement. These quantities can be obtained through random measurements or a hybrid quantum-classical framework. This approach significantly reduces the resource overhead compared to quantum state tomography while maintaining high accuracy. {Furthermore, the support vector quantile regression (SVQR) with pinball loss is employed to prevent SVR overestimation. This model not only ensures that over 95\% of predictions are conservative lower bounds in most cases, but also maintains this lower-bound reliability for over 93\% of predictions, despite 2\% perturbations in the input features.} The proposed technique provides a practical and scalable tool for characterizing quantum resources across computation, communication, and metrology applications.

Quantum Speed Limits Based on the Sharma-Mittal Entropy

Quantum speed limits (QSLs) establish intrinsic bounds on the minimum time required for the evolution of quantum systems. We present a class of QSLs formulated in terms of the two-parameter Sharma-Mittal entropy (SME), applicable to finite-dimensional systems evolving under general nonunitary dynamics. In the single-qubit case, the QSLs for both quantum channels and non-Hermitian dynamics are analyzed in detail. For many-body systems, we explore the role of SME-based bounds in characterizing the reduced dynamics and apply the results to the XXZ spin chain model. These entropy-based QSLs characterize fundamental limits on quantum evolution speeds and may be employed in contexts including entropic uncertainty relations, quantum metrology, coherent control and quantum sensing.
