Multiparameter quantum estimation with a uniformly accelerated Unruh-DeWitt detector

The uniformly accelerated Unruh-DeWitt detector serves as a fundamental model in relativistic quantum metrology. While previous studies have mainly concentrated on single-parameter estimation via quantum Cram\'er-Rao bound, the multi-parameter case remains significantly underexplored. In this paper, we investigate the multiparameter estimation for a uniformly accelerated Unruh-DeWitt detector coupled to a vacuum scalar field in both bounded and unbounded Minkowski vacuum. Our analysis reveals that quantum Cram\'er-Rao bound fails to provide a tight error bound for the two-parameter estimation involving the initial phase and weight parameters. For this reason, we numerically compute two tighter error bounds, Holevo Cram\'er-Rao bound and Nagaoka bound, based on a semidefinite program. Notably, our results demonstrate that Nagaoka bound yields the tightest error bound among all the considered error bounds, consistent with the general hierarchy of multiparameter quantum estimation. In the case with a boundary, we observe the introduction of boundary systematically reduces the values of both Holevo Cram\'er-Rao bound and Nagaoka bound, indicating an improvement on the attainable estimation precision. These results offer valuable insights on and practical guidance for advancing multiparameter estimation in relativistic context.

Tight upper bound on the quantum value of Svetlichny operators under local filtering and hidden genuine nonlocality

Nonlocal quantum correlations among the quantum subsystems play essential roles in quantum science. The violation of the Svetlichny inequality provides sufficient conditions of genuine tripartite nonlocality. We provide tight upper bounds on the maximal quantum value of the Svetlichny operators under local filtering operations, and present a qualitative analytical analysis on the hidden genuine nonlocality for three-qubit systems. We investigate in detail two classes of three-qubit states whose hidden genuine nonlocalities can be revealed by local filtering.

What are temporal correlations

Space and time are crucial twins in physics. In quantum mechanics, spatial correlations already reveal nonclassical features, such as entanglement, and have bred many quantum technologies. However, the nature of quantum temporal correlations still remains in vague. In this Letter, based on the entangled-history formalism, we prove rigorously that temporal correlations are equivalent to spatial correlations. The effect of temporal correlations corresponds to a quantum channel. The resulting quantifications and classifications of quantum temporal correlations are illustrated in a natural way. Our proposed procedures also show how to determine temporal correlations completely.

The reduction of the number of incoherent Kraus operations for qutrit systems

Quantum coherence is a fundamental property that can emerge within any quantum system. Incoherent operations, defined in terms of the Kraus decomposition, take an important role in state transformation. The maximum number of incoherent Kraus operators has been presented in [A. Streltsov, S. Rana, P. Boes, J. Eisert, Phys. Rev. Lett. 119. 140402 (2017)]. In this work, we show that the number of incoherent Kraus operators for a single qubit can be reduced from 5 to 4 by constructing a proper unitary matrix. For qutrit systems we further obtain 32 incoherent Kraus operators, while the upper bound in the research of Sterltsov gives 39 Kraus operators. Besides, we reduce the number of strictly incoherent Kraus operators from more than 15 to 13. And we consider the state transformation problem for these two types of operations in single qutrit systems.

Polygamy Inequalities for Qubit Systems

Entanglement polygamy, like entanglement monogamy, is a fundamental property of multipartite quantum states. We investigate the polygamy relations related to the concurrence $C$ and the entanglement of formation $E$ for general $n$-qubit states. We extend the results in [Phys. Rev. A 90, 024304 (2014)] from the parameter region $α\leq0$ to $α\leqα_0$, where $0<α_0\leq2$ for $C$, and $0<α_0\leq\sqrt{2}$ for $E$.

Quantum steerability based on joint measurability

Occupying a position between entanglement and Bell nonlocality, Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) steering has attracted increasing attention in recent years. Many criteria have been proposed and experimentally implemented to characterize EPR-steering. Nevertheless, only a few results are available to quantify steerability using analytical results. In this work, we propose a method for quantifying the steerability in two-qubit quantum states in the two-setting EPR-steering scenario, using the connection between joint measurability and steerability. We derive an analytical formula for the steerability of a class of X-states. The sufficient and necessary conditions for two-setting EPRsteering are presented. Based on these results, a class of asymmetric states, namely, one-way steerable states, are obtained.

Sharp Continuity Bounds for Entropy and Conditional Entropy

The Renyi entropy plays an essential role in quantum information theory. We study the continuity estimation of the Renyi entropy. An inequality relating the Renyi entropy difference of two quantum states to their trace norm distance is derived. This inequality is shown to be tight in the sense that equality can be attained for every prescribed value of the trace norm distance. It includes the sharp Fannes inequality for von Neumann entropy as a special case.

Uncertainty Relation Based on Skew Information with Quantum Memory

We present a new uncertainty relation by defining a measure of uncertainty based on skew information. For bipartite systems, we establish uncertainty relations with the existence of a quantum memory. A general relation between quantum correlations and tight bounds of uncertainty has been presented.

Construction of Bound Entangled States Based on Permutation Operators

We present a construction of new bound entangled states from given bound entangled states for arbitrary dimensional bipartite systems. One way to construct bound entangled states is to show that these states are PPT (positive partial transpose) and violate the range criterion at the same time. By applying certain operators to given bound entangled states or to one of the subsystems of the given bound entangled states, we obtain a set of new states which are both PPT and violate the range criterion. We show that the derived bound entangled states are not local unitary equivalent to the original bound entangled states by detail examples.

Super quantum discord for X-type states

Weak measurement is a new way to manipulate and control quantum systems. Different from projection measurement, weak measurement only makes a small change in status. Applying weak measurement to quantum discord, Singh and Pati proposed a new kind of quantum correlations called "super quantum discord (SQD)" [Annals of Physics \textbf{343},141(2014)]. Unfortunately, the super quantum discord is also difficult to calculate. There are only few explicit formulae about SQD. We derive an analytical formulae of SQD for general X-type two-qubit states, which surpass the conclusion for Werner states and Bell diagonal states. Furthermore, our results reveal more knowledge about the new insight of quantum correlation and give a new way to compare SQD with normal quantum discord. Finally, we analyze its dynamics under nondissipative channels.

Entanglement monogamy relations of qubit systems

We investigate the monogamy relations related to the concurrence and the entanglement of formation. General monogamy inequalities given by the αth power of concurrence and entanglement of formation are presented for N-qubit states. The monogamy relation for entanglement of assistance is also established. Based on these general monogamy relations, the residual entanglement of concurrence and entanglement of formation are studied. Some relations among the residual entanglement, entanglement of assistance, and three tangle are also presented.

Weak Schmidt decomposition and generalized Bell basis related to Hadamard matrices

We study the mathematical structures and relations among some quantities in the theory of quantum entanglement, such as separability, weak Schmidt decompositions, Hadamard matrices etc.. We provide an operational method to identify the Schmidt-correlated states by using weak Schmidt decomposition. We show that a mixed state is Schmidt-correlated if and only if its spectral decomposition consists of a set of pure eigenstates which can be simultaneously diagonalized in weak Schmidt decomposition, i.e. allowing for complex-valued diagonal entries. For such states, the separability is reduced to the orthogonality conditions of the vectors consisting of diagonal entries associated to the eigenstates, which is surprisingly related to the so-called complex Hadamard matrices. Using the Hadamard matrices, we provide a variety of generalized maximal entangled Bell bases.
