A variant of ${\texttt{IdentityFinder}}$ and some new identities of Rogers-Ramanujan-MacMahon type

We report on findings of a variant of ${\texttt{IdentityFinder}}$ - a Maple program that was used by two of the authors to conjecture several new identities of Rogers-Ramanujan kind. In the present search, we modify the parametrization of the search space by taking into consideration several aspects of Lepowsky and Wilson's $Z$-algebraic mechanism and its variant by Meurman and Primc. We search for identities based on forbidding the appearance of "flat" partitions as sub-partitions. Several new identities of Rogers-Ramanujan-MacMahon type are found and proved.

Cosets, characters and fusion for admissible-level $\mathfrak{osp}(1 \vert 2)$ minimal models

We study the minimal models associated to $\mathfrak{osp}(1 \vert 2)$, otherwise known as the fractional-level Wess-Zumino-Witten models of $\mathfrak{osp}(1 \vert 2)$. Since these minimal models are extensions of the tensor product of certain Virasoro and $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ minimal models, we can induce the known structures of the representations of the latter models to get a rather complete understanding of the minimal models of $\mathfrak{osp}(1 \vert 2)$. In particular, we classify the irreducible relaxed highest-weight modules, determine their characters and compute their Grothendieck fusion rules. We also discuss conjectures for their (genuine) fusion products and the projective covers of the irreducibles.

Staircases to analytic sum-sides for many new integer partition identities of Rogers-Ramanujan type

We utilize the technique of staircases and jagged partitions to provide analytic sum-sides to some old and new partition identities of Rogers-Ramanujan type. Firstly, we conjecture a class of new partition identities related to the principally specialized characters of certain level $2$ modules for the affine Lie algebra $A_9^{(2)}$. Secondly, we provide analytic sum-sides to some earlier conjectures of the authors. Next, we use these analytic sum-sides to discover a number of further generalizations. Lastly, we apply this technique to the well-known Capparelli identities and present analytic sum-sides which we believe to be new. All of the new conjectures presented in this article are supported by a strong mathematical evidence.

Representation theory of $L_k\left(\mathfrak{osp}(1 | 2)\right)$ from vertex tensor categories and Jacobi forms

The purpose of this work is to illustrate in a family of interesting examples how to study the representation theory of vertex operator superalgebras by combining the theory of vertex algebra extensions and modular forms. Let $L_k\left(\mathfrak{osp}(1 | 2)\right)$ be the simple affine vertex operator superalgebra of $\mathfrak{osp}(1|2)$ at an admissible level $k$. We use a Jacobi form decomposition to see that this is a vertex operator superalgebra extension of $L_k(\mathfrak{sl}_2)\otimes \text{Vir}(p, (p+p')/2)$ where $k+3/2=p/(2p')$ and $\text{Vir}(u, v)$ denotes the regular Virasoro vertex operator algebra of central charge $c=1-6(u-v)^2/(uv)$. Especially, for a positive integer $k$, we get a regular vertex operator superalgebra and this case is studied further. The interplay of the theory of vertex algebra extensions and modular data of the vertex operator subalgebra allows us to classify all simple local (untwisted) and Ramond twisted $L_k\left(\mathfrak{osp}(1 | 2)\right)$-modules and to obtain their super fusion rules. The latter are obtained in a second way from Verlinde's formula for vertex operator superalgebras. Finally, using again the theory of vertex algebra extensions, we find all simple modules and their fusion rules of the parafermionic coset $C_k = \text{Com}\left(V_L, L_k\left(\mathfrak{osp}(1 | 2)\right)\right)$ where $V_L$ is the lattice vertex operator algebra of the lattice $L=\sqrt{2k}\mathbb{Z}$.

On a dual and an overpartition generalization of a family of identities of Andrews

We present a dual of a family of partition identities of Andrews involving partitions with no repeated odd parts (among other conditions), along with an overpartition generalization that encapsulates both families. These were discovered during the course of research for an upcoming article by the authors along with Debajyoti Nandi. The proof uses Appell's comparison theorem.

Schur-Weyl Duality for Heisenberg Cosets

Let $V$ be a simple vertex operator algebra containing a rank $n$ Heisenberg vertex algebra $H$ and let $C=\text{Com}\left( {H}, {V}\right)$ be the coset of ${H}$ in ${V}$. Assuming that the representation categories of interest are vertex tensor categories in the sense of Huang, Lepowsky and Zhang, a Schur-Weyl type duality for both simple and indecomposable but reducible modules is proven. Families of vertex algebra extensions of ${C}$ are found and every simple ${C}$-module is shown to be contained in at least one ${V}$-module. A corollary of this is that if ${V}$ is rational and $C_2$-cofinite and CFT-type, and $\text{Com}\left( {C}, {V}\right)$ is a rational lattice vertex operator algebra, then so is ${C}$. These results are illustrated with many examples and the $C_1$-cofiniteness of certain interesting classes of modules is established.

Simple current extensions beyond semi-simplicity

Let V be a simple VOA and consider a representation category of V that is a vertex tensor category in the sense of Huang-Lepowsky. In particular, this category is a braided tensor category. Let J be an object in this category that is a simple current of order two of either integer or half-integer conformal dimension. We prove that $V\oplus J$ is either a VOA or a super VOA. If the representation category of V is in addition ribbon, then the categorical dimension of J decides this parity question. Combining with Carnahan's work, we extend this result to simple currents of arbitrary order. Our next result is a simple sufficient criterion for lifting indecomposable objects that only depends on conformal dimensions. Several examples of simple current extensions that are $C_2$-cofinite and non-rational are then given and induced modules listed.

A motivated proof of the Göllnitz-Gordon-Andrews identities

We present what we call a "motivated proof" of the Göllnitz-Gordon-Andrews identities. A similar motivated proof of the Rogers-Ramanujan identities was previously given by G. E. Andrews and R. J. Baxter, and was subsequently generalized to Gordon's identities by J. Lepowsky and M. Zhu. We anticipate that the present proof of the Göllnitz-Gordon-Andrews identities will illuminate certain twisted vertex-algebraic constructions.

IdentityFinder and some new identities of Rogers-Ramanujan type

The Rogers-Ramanujan identities and various analogous identities (Gordon, Andrews-Bressoud, Capparelli, etc.) form a family of very deep identities concerned with integer partitions. These identities (written in generating function form) are typically of the form "product side" equals "sum side," with the product side enumerating partitions obeying certain congruence conditions and the sum side obeying certain initial conditions and difference conditions (along with possibly other restrictions). We use symbolic computation to generate various such sum sides and then use Euler's algorithm to see which of them actually do produce elegant conjectured product sides. We not only rediscover many of the known identities but also discover some apparently new ones, as conjectures supported by strong mathematical evidence.

Ghost series and a motivated proof of the Andrews-Bressoud identities

We present what we call a "motivated proof" of the Andrews-Bressoud partition identities for even moduli. A "motivated proof" of the Rogers-Ramanujan identities was given by G. E. Andrews and R. J. Baxter, and this proof was generalized to the odd-moduli case of Gordon's identities by J. Lepowsky and M. Zhu. Recently, a "motivated proof" of the somewhat analogous Göllnitz-Gordon-Andrews identities has been found. In the present work, we introduce "shelves" of formal series incorporating what we call "ghost series," which allow us to pass from one shelf to the next via natural recursions, leading to our motivated proof. We anticipate that these new series will provide insight into the ongoing program of vertex-algebraic categorification of the various "motivated proofs."
