$r$-deformed $\alpha$-$z$-R\'enyi relative entropy

In this article, we consider the $r$-logarithm for defining three-parameter family of R\'{e}nyi relative entropies that are generalization of the $\alpha$-$z$-R\'{e}nyi relative entropies. All the members of $r$-deformed $\alpha$-$z$-R\'{e}nyi relative entropies satisfy the necessary axioms to be a divergence. We expose the range of parameters $\alpha$, $z$ and $r$ for which the data processing inequality holds. We also establish that $r$-deformed $\alpha$-$z$-R\'{e}nyi relative entropy is an upper bound of the Tsallis relative entropy. Now, we have two upper bounds of the Tsallis relative entropy, which are $r$-deformed $\alpha$-$z$-R\'{e}nyi relative entropy and the other one, which is discussed in literature. We investigate the order relationship between these two upper bounds of the Tsallis relative entropy. We observe that our new upper bound is more tighter when applicable to the density operators.

Some inequalities for spectral geometric mean with applications

Recently, the spectral geometric mean has been studied by some papers. In this paper, we firstly estimate the H\"{o}lder type inequality of the spectral geometric mean of positive invertible operators on the Hilbert space for all real order in terms of the generalized Kantorovich constant and show the relation between the weighted geometric mean and the spectral geometric one under the usual operator order. Moreover, we show their operator norm version. Next, in the matrix case, we show the log-majorization for the spectral geometric mean and their applications. Among others, we show the order relation among three quantum Tsallis relative entropies. Finally we give a new lower bound of the Tsallis relative entropy.

A two-parameter entropy and its fundamental properties

This article proposes a new two-parameter generalized entropy, which can be reduced to the Tsallis and the Shannon entropy for specific values of its parameters. We develop a number of information-theoretic properties of this generalized entropy and divergence, for instance, the sub-additive property, strong sub-additive property, joint convexity, and information monotonicity. This article presents an exposit investigation on the information-theoretic and information-geometric characteristics of the new generalized entropy and compare them with the properties of the Tsallis and the Shannon entropy.

On a binary operation for positive operators

M. Lin defined a binary operation for two positive semi-definite matrices in studying certain determinantal inequalities that arise from diffusion tensor imaging. This operation enjoys some interesting properties similar to the operator geometric mean. We study this operation further and present numerous properties emphasizing the relationship with the operator geometric mean. In the end, we present an application toward Tsallis relative operator entropy.

Wigner--Yanase--Dyson function and logarithmic mean

The ordering between Wigner--Yanase--Dyson function and logarithmic mean is known. Also bounds for logarithmic mean are known. In this paper, we give two reverse inequalities for Wigner--Yanase--Dyson function and logarithmic mean. We also compare the obtained results with the known bounds of the logarithmic mean. Finally, we give operator inequalities based on the obtained results.

On bounds of logarithmic mean and mean inequality chain

An upper bound of the logarithmic mean is given by a convex combination of the arithmetic mean and the geometric mean. In addition, a lower bound of the logarithmic mean is given by a geometric bridge of the arithmetic mean and the geometric mean. In this paper, we study the bounds of the logarithmic mean. We give operator inequalities and norm inequalities for the fundamental inequalities on the logarithmic mean. We give monotonicity of the parameter for the unitarily invariant norm of the Heron mean, and give its optimality as the upper bound of the unitarily invariant norm of the logarithmic mean. We study the ordering of the unitarily invariant norms for the Heron mean, the Heinz mean, the binomial mean and the Lehmer mean. Finally, we give a new mean inequality chain as an application of the point-wise inequality.

Bounds for the reduced relative entropies

A lower bound of the reduced relative entropy is given by the use of a variational expression. The reduced Tsallis relative entropy is defined and some results are given. In particular, the convexity of the reduced Tsallis relative entropy is obtained. Finally, an upper bound of the reduced Tsallis relative entropy is given.

Operator Spectral Geometric Versus Geometric Mean

The main goal of this article is to present new inequalities for the spectral geometric mean $A\natural_t B$ of two positive definite operators $A, B$ on a Hilbert space. The obtained results complement many known inequalities for the geometric mean $A\sharp_t B$. In particular, explicit comparisons between $A\natural_t B$ and $A\sharp_t B$ are given, with applications towards Ando-type inequalities and Ando-Hiai inequalities for $A\natural_t B$ and some other consequences.

On log-sum inequalities

In information theory, the well-known log-sum inequality is a fundamental tool which indicates the non-negativity for the relative entropy. In this article, we establish a set of inequalities which are similar to the log-sum inequality involving two functions defined on scalars. The parametric extended log-sum inequalities are shown. We extend these inequalities for the commutative matrices. In addition, utilizing the Löwner partial order relation and the Hansen-Pedersen theory for non-commutative positive semi-definite matrices we demonstrate a number of matrix-inequalities analogous to the log-sum inequality.

Mathematical inequalities on some weighted means

Some mathematical inequalities among various weighted means are studied. Inequalities on weighted logarithmic mean are given. Besides, the gap in Jensen's inequality is studied as a convex function approach. Consequently, some non-trivial inequalities on means are given. Some operator inequalities are also shown.

Further Properties of Accretive Matrices

To better understand the algebra $\mathcal{M}_n$ of all $n\times n$ complex matrices, we explore the class of accretive matrices. This class has received renowned attention in recent years due to its role in complementing those results known for positive definite matrices. More precisely, we have several results that allow a better understanding of accretive matrices. Among many results, we present order-preserving results, Choi-Davis-type inequalities, mean-convex inequalities, sub-multiplicative results for the real part, and new bounds of the absolute value of accretive matrices. These results will be compared with the existing literature. In the end, we quickly pass through related entropy results for accretive matrices.

A Note on Kantorovich and Ando Inequalities

The main goal of this exposition is to present further analysis of the Kantorovich and Ando operator inequalities. In particular, a new proof of Ando's inequality is given, a new non-trivial refinement of Kantorovich inequality is shown, and some equivalent forms of Kantorovich inequality are presented with a Minkowski-type application.

Operator inequalities via the triangle inequality

This article improves the triangle inequality for complex numbers, using the Hermite-Hadamard inequality for convex functions. Then, applications of the obtained refinement are presented to include some operator inequalities. The operator applications include numerical radius inequalities and operator mean inequalities.

More results on weighted means

We give a refined Young inequality which generalizes the inequality by Zou--Jiang. We also show the upper bound for the logarithmic mean by the use of the weighted geometric mean and the weighted arithmetic mean. Furthermore, we show some inequalities among the weighted means. Based on the obtained essential scalar inequalities, we give some operator inequalities. In particular, we give a generalization of the result by Zou--Jiang, that is, we show the operator inequalities with the operator relative entropy with the weighted parameter. Finally, we give the further generalized inequalities by the Tsallis operator relative entropy.

Convex inequalities and their applications to relative operator entropies

A considerable amount of literature in the theory of inequality is devoted to the study of Jensen's and Young's inequality. This article presents a number of new inequalities involving the log-convex functions and the geometrically convex functions. As their consequences, we derive the refinements for Young's inequality and Jensen's inequality. In addition, the operator Jensen's type inequality is also developed for conditioned two functions. Utilizing these new inequalities, we investigate the operator inequalities related to the relative operator entropy.

New inequalities for sectorial matrices applying Garg-Aujla inequalities

In this paper, we give new singular value inequalities and determinant inequalities including the inverse of $A$, $B$ and $A+B$ for sector matrices. We also give the matrix inequalities for sector matrices with a positive multilinear map. Our obtained results give generalizations for the known results.
