Polars and antipodal sets of generalized $s$-manifolds

In this paper, we introduce the notion of generalized $s$-manifolds, which is a generalization of symmetric spaces. Then we give a method to construct generalized $s$-manifolds and present some typical examples. We study polars and antipodal sets of generalized $s$-manifolds aiming to extend the results on compact symmetric spaces due to Chen and Nagano.

On cohomogeneity one hyperpolar actions related to $G_{2}$

Cohomogeneity one actions on irreducible Riemannian symmetric spaces of compact type are classified into three cases: Hermann actions, actions induced by the linear isotropy representation of a Riemannian symmetric space of rank 2, and exceptional actions. In this paper, we consider exceptional actions related to the exceptional compact Lie group $G_{2}$ and investigate some properties of their orbits as Riemannian submanifolds. In particular, we examine the principal curvatures of principal orbits and classify principal orbits that are minimal, austere, weakly reflective, and proper biharmonic.

Geometric Properties of Orbits of Hermann actions

In this paper, we investigate properties of orbits of Hermann actions as submanifolds without assuming the commutability of involutions which define Hermann actions. In particular, we compute the second fundamental form of orbits of Hermann action, and give a sufficient condition for orbits of Hermann action to be weakly reflective (resp. arid) submanifolds.

Biharmonic orbits of isotropy representations of symmetric spaces

In this paper, we give a necessarly and sufficient condition for orbits of linear isotropy representations of Riemannian symmetric spaces are biharmonic submanifolds in hyperspheres in Euclidean spaces. In particular, we obtain examples of biharmonic submanifolds in hyperspheres whose co-dimension is greater than one.

Biharmonic homogeneous submanifolds in compact symmetric spaces and compact Lie groups

We give a necessary and sufficient condition for orbits of commutative Hermann actions and actions of the direct product of two symmetric subgroups on compact Lie groups to be biharmonic in terms of symmetric triad with multiplicities. By this criterion, we determine all the proper biharmonic submanifolds in irreducible symmetric spaces of compact type which are singular orbits of commutative Hermann actions of cohomogeneity two. Also, in compact simple Lie groups, we determine all the biharmonic hypersurfaces which are regular orbits of actions of the direct product of two symmetric subgroups which are associated to commutative Hermann actions of cohomogeneity one.
