Correlative study of flavor anomalies and dark matter in the light of scalar leptoquark

We explore $U(1)_{L_e-L_μ}$ gauge extension of the Standard Model with particle content enlarged by three neutral fermions, of which the lightest one contributes to dark matter content of the Universe. The scalar sector is enriched with a $\tilde{R}_2$ scalar leptoquark doublet to investigate flavor anomalies in $B$-meson sector, an additional inert scalar doublet to realize neutrino mass at one loop and a scalar singlet to spontaneously break the new $U(1)$. We discuss dark matter relic density and direct detection cross section in scalar and gauge portals. New physics contribution for $b \to s$ transition comes from penguin diagrams with $Z^\prime$, leptquark and new fermions. We analyze the constraints on the model parameters from the established observables of $B \to K^{(*)} μ^+ μ^-$ and $B_s\to ϕμ^+ μ^-$ decay channels. Utilizing the permissible parameter space consistent with both flavor and dark sectors, we discuss the impact on various observables such as branching ratio, forward-backward asymmetry, longitudinal polarisation asymmetry, and also lepton non-universality of $Λ_b \to Λ^* (1520) (\to pK) \ell ^+\ell ^-$ decay channel.

Exploring neutrino masses, $(g-2)_{μ, e}$ in type I+II seesaw in ${L^{}_e-L^{}_α}$ gauge extended model

This paper aims to explore the implications of $U(1)_{L_e-L_α}$ gauge symmetries, where $α=τ, μ$, in the neutrino sector through the type-(I+II) seesaw mechanisms. To achieve such a hybrid framework, we include a scalar triplet and three right-handed neutrinos. The model can successfully account for the active neutrino masses, mixing angles, mass squared differences, and the CP-violating phase within the $3 σ$ bounds of NuFit v5.2 neutrino oscillation data. The presence of new gauge boson at the MeV scale provides an explanation for the muon and electron $(g-2)$ within the confines of their experimental limits. Furthermore, we scrutinize the proposed models in the context of upcoming long-baseline neutrino experiments such as DUNE, P2SO, T2HK, and T2HKK. The findings reveal that P2SO and T2HK have the ability to probe both the models in their $5 σ$ allowed oscillation parameter region, whereas DUNE and T2HKK can conclusively test only model with $U(1)_{L_e-L_μ}$- symmetry within their $5 σ$ parameter space if the true values of the oscillation parameters remain consistent with NuFit v5.2.

GeV scale dark matter and $B\rightarrow K+$ missing energy phenomenology in the $U(1)_{B-L}$ model

We elucidate the recently observed discrepancy in the branching ratio of $B^{+}\rightarrow K^{+}$ +inv decay mode using a GeV scale scalar dark matter in an anomaly-free $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge extension of the Standard Model. We constrain the new parameters by using consistency with the existing bounds on Dark matter relic density, direct detection, collider and BR($B\rightarrow K^*ν\barν$) measured at the Belle II experiment. We investigate couplings between the mediator and the SM fermions as well as the dark matter particle. We then estimate the branching ratios of $b \to s ν\bar ν$ decay processes such as $B\rightarrow (K^+,K^*)ν\barν$, $B_s\rightarrow (η,η')ν\barν$, $ B_s\rightarrow ϕν\barν$ and $B_c\rightarrow (D_s, D_s^*)ν\barν$ in a common parameter space, meeting the current experimental bounds of both sectors simultaneously.

Correlating neutrino magnetic moment and scalar triplet dark matter to enlighten XENONnT bounds in a Type-II model

We investigate neutrino magnetic moment, triplet scalar dark matter in a Type-II radiative seesaw scenario. With three vector-like fermion doublets and two scalar triplets, we provide a loop level setup for the electromagnetic vertex of neutrinos. All the scalar multiplet components constitute the total dark matter abundance of the Universe and also their scattering cross section with detector lie below the experimental upper limit. Using the consistent parameter space in dark matter domain, we obtain light neutrino mass in sub-eV scale and also magnetic moment in the desired range. We further derive the constraints on neutrino transition magnetic moments, consistent with XENONnT limit.

Neutrino magnetic moment and inert doublet dark matter in a Type-III radiative scenario

We narrate dark matter, neutrino magnetic moment and mass in a Type-III radiative scenario. The Standard Model is enriched with three vector-like fermion triplets and two inert doublets to provide a suitable platform for the above phenomenological aspects. The inert scalars contribute to total relic density of dark matter in the Universe. Neutrino aspects are realized at one-loop with magnetic moment obtained through charged scalars, while neutrino mass gets contribution from charged and neutral scalars. Taking inert scalars up to $2$ TeV and triplet fermion in few hundred TeV range, we obtain a common parameter space, compatible with experimental limits associated with both neutrino and dark matter sectors. Using a specific region for transition magnetic moment (${\cal O} (10^{-11}μ_B$)), we explain the excess recoil events, reported by the XENON1T collaboration. Finally, we demonstrate that the model is able to provide neutrino magnetic moments in a wide range from $10^{-12}μ_B$ to $10^{-10}μ_B$, meeting the bounds of various experiments such as Super-K, TEXONO, Borexino and XENONnT.

Flavour anomalies and dark matter assisted unification in $SO(10)$ GUT

With the recent experimental hint of new physics from flavor physics anomalies, combined with the evidence from neutrino mass and dark matter, we consider a minimal extension of SM with a scalar leptoquark and a fermion triplet. The scalar leptoquark with couplings to leptons and quarks can explain lepton flavor non-universality observables $R_K$, $R_{K^{(*)}}$, $R_{D^{(*)}}$ and $R_{J/ψ}$. Neutral component of fermion triplet provides current abundance of dark matter in the Universe. The interesting feature of the proposal is that the minimal addition of these phenomenologically rich particles (scalar leptoquark and fermion triplet) assist in realizing the unification of the gauge couplings associated with the strong and electroweak forces of standard model when embedded in the non-supersymmetric $SO(10)$ grand unified theory. We discuss on unification mass scale and the corresponding proton decay constraints while taking into account the GUT threshold corrections.

Implications of $A_4$ modular symmetry on Neutrino mass, Mixing and Leptogenesis with Linear Seesaw

The present work is inspired by the application of $A_4$ modular symmetry in the linear seesaw framework, which restricts the use of multiple flavon fields. Linear seesaw is realized with six heavy $SU(2)_L$ singlet fermion superfields and a weighton in a supersymmetric framework. The non-trivial transformation of Yukawa couplings under the $A_4$ modular symmetry helps to explore the neutrino phenomenology with a specific flavor structure of the mass matrix. We discuss the phenomena of neutrino mixing and show that the obtained mixing angles and CP violating phase in this framework are compatible with the observed $3σ$ range of the current oscillation data. In addition, we also investigate the non-zero CP asymmetry from the decay of lightest heavy fermion superfield to explain the preferred phenomena of baryogenesis through leptogenesis including flavor effects.

Light dark matter, rare $B$ decays with missing energy in $L_μ-L_τ$ model with a scalar leptoquark

We investigate the phenomenology of light GeV-scale fermionic dark matter in $U(1)_{L_μ- L_τ}$ gauge extension of the Standard Model. Heavy neutral fermions alongside with a $S_1(\overline{3}$,$1$,$1/3$) scalar leptoquark and an inert scalar doublet are added to address the flavor anomalies and light neutrino mass respectively. The light gauge boson associated with $U(1)_{L_μ-L_τ}$ gauge group mediates dark to visible sector and helps to obtain the correct relic density. Aided with a colored scalar, we constrain the new model parameters by using the branching ratios of various $b \to sll$ and $b \to s γ$ decay processes as well as the lepton flavour non-universality observables $R_{K^{(*)}}$ and then show the implication on the branching ratios of some rare semileptonic $B \to (K^{(*)}, ϕ)+$ missing energy, processes.

Dark matter and flavor anomalies in the light of vector-like fermions and scalar leptoquark

We make a comprehensive study of vector-like fermionic dark matter and flavor anomalies in a simple extension of standard model. The model is added with doublet vector-like fermions of quark and lepton types, and also a $S_1(\bar{\textbf{3}},\textbf{1},1/3)$ scalar leptoquark. An additional lepton type singlet fermion is included, whose admixture with vector-like lepton doublet plays the role of dark matter and is examined in relic density and direct detection perspective. Electroweak precision observables are computed to put constraint on model parameter space. We constrain the new couplings from the branching ratios and angular observables associated with $b \to sll (ν_l \bar ν_l)$, $b \to s γ$ decays and also from the recent measurement on muon anomalous magnetic moment. We then estimate the branching ratios of the rare lepton flavor vioalting $B_{(s)}$ decay modes such as $B_{(s)} \to l_i^\mp l_j^\pm$, $B_{(s)} \to (K^{(*)}, ϕ) l_i^\mp l_j^\pm$.

Scalar dark matter, Neutrino mass and Leptogenesis in a $\rm U(1)_{B-L}$ model

We investigate the phenomenology of singlet scalar dark matter in a simple $\rm U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge extension of standard model, made anomaly free with four exotic fermions. The enriched scalar sector and the new gauge boson $Z^\prime$, associated with $\rm U(1)$ gauge extension, connect the dark sector to the visible sector. We compute relic density, consistent with Planck limit and $Z^\prime$ mediated dark matter-nucleon cross section, compatible with PandaX bound. The mass of $Z^\prime$ and the corresponding gauge coupling are constrained from LEP-II and LHC dilepton searches. We also briefly scrutinize the tree level neutrino mass with dimension five operator. Furthermore, resonant leptogenesis phenomena is discussed with TeV scale exotic fermions to produce the observed baryon asymmetry of the Universe. Further, we briefly explain the impact of flavor in leptogenesis and we also project the combined constraints on Yukawa, consistent with oscillation data and observed baryon asymmetry. Additionally, we restrict the new gauge parameters by using the existing data on branching ratios of rare $B(τ)$ decay modes. We see that the constraints from dark sector are much more stringent from flavor sector.

A modular $A_4$ symmetric Scotogenic model for Neutrino mass and Dark Matter

Modular symmetries have been impeccable in neutrino and quark sectors. This motivated us, therefore, to propose a variant of scotogenic model based on modular $A_4$ symmetry to realize the neutrino mass generation at one-loop level through radiative mechanism. Alongside, the lepton flavour violating process $μ\to e γ$ and the muon $g-2$ anomaly are also addressed. The lightest Majorana fermions turn out to be potential dark matter candidates, made stable by suitable assignment of modular weights. The relic density of the same has been computed with annihilations mediated by inert scalars and new $U(1)$ gauge boson.

Neutrino Phenomenology and Dark matter in an $A_4$ flavour extended B-L model

We present an $A_4$ flavor extended $\rm B-L$ model for realization of eV scale sterile neutrinos, motivated by the recent experimental hints from both particle physics and cosmology. The framework considered here is a gauged $\rm B-L$ extension of standard model without the introduction of right-handed neutrinos, where the gauge triangle anomalies are canceled with the inclusion of three exotic neutral fermions $N_{i}$ ($i=1,2,3$) with $\rm B-L$ charges $-4,-4$ and $5$. The usual Dirac Yukawa couplings between the SM neutrinos and the exotic fermions are absent and thus, the model allows natural realization of eV scale sterile-like neutrino and its mixing with standard model neutrinos by invoking $\rm A_4$ flavor symmetry. We demonstrate how the exact tri-bimaximal mixing pattern is perturbed due to active-sterile mixing by analyzing $1+3$ case in detail. We also show the implication of eV scale sterile-like neutrino on various observables in neutrino oscillation experiments and the effective mass in neutrinoless double beta decay. Another interesting feature of the model is that one of three exotic fermions is required to explain eV scale phenomena, while other two fermions form stable dark matter candidates and their total relic density satisfy the observed $3σ$ limit of Planck data. We constrain the gauge parameters associated with $U(1)$ gauge extension, using relic density and collider bounds.

Exploring Dark Matter, Neutrino mass and flavour anomalies in L_μ-L_τ model

We investigate Majorana dark matter in a new variant of $U(1)_{L_μ-L_τ}$ gauge extension of Standard Model, containing three additional neutral fermions $N_{e}, N_μ, N_τ$, along with a $(\bar{3},1,1/3)$ scalar Leptoquark (SLQ) and an inert doublet, to study the phenomenology of dark matter, neutrino mass generation and flavour anomalies on a single platform. The lightest mass eigenstate of the $N_μ, N_τ$ neutral fermions plays the role of dark matter. We compute the WIMP-nucleon cross section in leptoquark portal and the relic density mediated by inert doublet components, leptoquark and the new $Z^{\prime}$ boson. We constrain the parameter space consistent with Planck limit on relic density, PICO-60 and LUX bounds on spin-dependent direct detection cross section. We also discuss about the neutrino mass generation at one-loop level and the viable parameter region to explain current neutrino oscillation data. The $Z^\prime$ gauge boson of extended $U(1)$ symmetry and the SLQ play an important role in settling the known issues of flavor sector.

Exploring dark matter, neutrino mass and $R_{K^{(*)},ϕ}$ anomalies in $L_μ-L_τ$ model

Furthermore, we constrain the new couplings from the present experimental data on ${\rm Br}(τ\to μν_τ\bar ν_μ)$, ${\rm Br}( B \to X_s γ)$, ${\rm Br}( B^0 \to K^0 μ^+ μ^-)$, ${\rm Br}(B^+ \to K^+ τ^+ τ^-)$ and $B_s-\bar{B_s}$ mixing, which occur at one-loop level in the presence of $Z^\prime$ and leptoquark. Using the allowed parameter space, we estimate the form factor independent $P_{4,5}^\prime$ observables and the lepton non-universality parameters $R_{K}$, $R_{K^*}$ and $R_ϕ$. We also briefly discuss about the neutrino mass generation at one-loop level and the viable parameter region to explain current neutrino oscillation data.

Majorana Dark Matter in a new B-L model

We present a comprehensive study of Majorana dark matter in a $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge extension of the standard model, where three exotic fermions with $B-L$ charges as $-4, -4, +5$ are added to make the model free from the triangle gauge anomalies. The enriched scalar sector and the new heavy gauge boson $Z^{\prime},$ associated with the $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry make the model advantageous to be explored in dual portal scenarios for the search of dark matter signal. Diagonalizing the exotic fermion mass matrix, we obtain the Majorana mass eigenstates, of which the lightest one plays the role of dark matter. Analyzing the effect of two mediators separately, the scalar portal channels give a viable parameter space consistent with relic density from PLANCK data and the direct detection limits from various experiments such as LUX, XENON1T and PandaX. While the $Z^{\prime}$ mediated channels are constrained from relic abundance and LHC searches for $Z^{\prime}$ in the dilepton channel. A massless physical Goldstone boson plays a key role in the scalar portal relic density. Finally, we briefly discuss the neutrino mass generation at one-loop level.

Singlet scalar Dark matter in $U(1)_{B-L}$ models without right-handed neutrinos

We investigate the phenomenology of singlet scalar dark matter in a simple $B-L$ gauge extension of the Standard Model where the dark matter particle is charged under the $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry. The non-trivial gauge anomalies are cancelled with the introduction of three exotic fermions with $B-L$ charges as $-4,-4,5$, instead of right-handed neutrinos $ν_{Ri}~(i=1,2,3)$ with $B-L=-1$ in conventional $U(1)_{B-L}$ model. Without the need of any ad-hoc discrete symmetry, the $B-L$ charge plays a crucial role in stabilizing the dark matter. We make a comprehensive study of dark matter phenomenology in the scalar and gauge portals separately. In the gauge-mediated regime, we invoke the LEP-II constraints and dilepton limits of ATLAS on the gauge parameters. A massless physical Goldstone plays a vital role in the scalar-portal dark matter observables, becomes a unique feature of the model. We show the mechanism of generating the light neutrino mass at one-loop level where the dark matter singlet runs in the loop. We shed light on the semi-annihilation and finally, we comment on indirect signals in this framework.

Implications of Fermionic Dark Matter on recent neutrino oscillation data

We investigate flavor phenomenology and dark matter in the context of scotogenic model. In this model, the neutrino masses are generated through radiative corrections at one-loop level. Considering the neutrino mixing matrix to be of tri-bimaximal form with additional perturbations to accommodate the recently observed non-zero value of reactor mixing angle $θ_{13}$, we obtain the relation between various neutrino oscillation parameters and the model parameters. Working in degenerate heavy neutrino mass spectrum, we obtain light neutrino masses obeying normal hierarchy and also study the relic abundance of fermionic dark matter candidate including co-annihilation effects. A viable parameter space is thus obtained, consistent with neutrino oscillation data, relic abundance and various lepton flavor violating decays such as $\ell_α\to\ell_βγ$ and $\ell_α\to 3 \, \ell_β$.
