Texture++: Elevating 3D Asset Texture Resolution with a Region-Aware Diffusion Model

Numerous 3D assets are discarded due to low texture resolution, while current super-resolution models ignore texture maps and focus on natural images. An efficient and generalizable texture super-resolution model can revitalize a large corpus of aging yet valuable assets across industries such as film and video games. We present Texture++, a novel framework for texture super-resolution, which enhances the low-resolution textures of assets to produce high-resolution, high-quality results. Specifically, we reformulate the task of super-resolution in UV space into performing it across multiple rendered views and merging the outputs. Firstly, to achieve more complete and continuous textures in the view space, we propose an adaptive view selection strategy to integrate textures dispersed across UV texture patches. Furthermore, we introduce a quadtree-based texture region organization method for combining super-resolved textures from different viewpoints, providing masks to distinguish regions that require improvement. Finally, we design a diffusion-based super-resolution model that enhances the texture resolution for specified masked regions, seamlessly integrating with surrounding regions. Through comprehensive evaluations, we demonstrate that our approach yields textures with substantially improved detail and coherence over existing methods.

Mid-level Representation Enhancement and Graph Embedded Uncertainty Suppressing for Facial Expression Recognition

Facial expression is an essential factor in conveying human emotional states and intentions. Although remarkable advancement has been made in facial expression recognition (FER) task, challenges due to large variations of expression patterns and unavoidable data uncertainties still remain. In this paper, we propose mid-level representation enhancement (MRE) and graph embedded uncertainty suppressing (GUS) addressing these issues. On one hand, MRE is introduced to avoid expression representation learning being dominated by a limited number of highly discriminative patterns. On the other hand, GUS is introduced to suppress the feature ambiguity in the representation space. The proposed method not only has stronger generalization capability to handle different variations of expression patterns but also more robustness to capture expression representations. Experimental evaluation on Aff-Wild2 have verified the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Analysis of $Λ_{b}\to$ $p K^{-}$ and $p π^{-}$ decays in a flavor changing $Z^{\prime}$ model

In this paper, we calculate the branching ratios of Λ_{b} \to pK^{-} and pπ^{-} decays in the flavor changing Z^{\prime} model. We find that the branching ratios for these two decay modes are sensitive to the contributions of Z^{\prime} boson. For Λ_{b}\to p K^{-} decay, if the left-handed couplings are equal to the right-handed couplings, the branching ratio of this decay could match up to the currently experimental data for ξ_{s}=0.01 and -52^{\circ}<ϕ^{L}_{s}<132^{\circ}, or ξ_{s}=0.004 and 0^{\circ}<ϕ^{L}_{s}<84^{\circ}; if only the left-handed couplings are considered, it could match up to the experimental data for ξ_{s}=0.01 and -10^{\circ}<ϕ^{L}_{s}<138^{\circ}$. And for Λ_{b} \to pπ^{-} decay, if the left-handed and right-handed couplings are equal, the branching ratio of Λ_{b} \to pπ^{-} decay may be consistent with the currently experimental data with ξ_{d}=0.05 and -135^{\circ}<ϕ^{L}_{d}<43^{\circ}, if only the left-handed couplings are considered, it may be consistent with ξ_{d}=0.05 and -114^{\circ}<ϕ^{L}_{d}<8^{\circ}.

Searches for the technicolor signatures via gg --> W^{\pm}π_t^{\mp} at the Large Hadron Collider

In this paper we calculate the production of a charged top pion in association with a W boson via gg fusion at the CERN Large Hadron Collider in the context of the topcolor assisted technicolor model. We find that, the total cross section of pp --> gg --> W^{\pm}π_t^{\mp}, is several dozen femtobarns with reasonable values of the parameters, and the total cross section of pp --> W^{\pm}π_t^{\mp} can reach a few hundred femtobarns when we consider the sum of the contributions of these two parton subprocesses gg --> W^{\pm}π_t^{\mp} and b\bar{b} --> W^{\pm}π_t^{\mp}.

Associated production of a neutral top-Higgs with a heavy-quark pair in the γγcollisions at ILC

We have studied the associated production processes of a neutral top-Higgs in the topcolor assisted technicolor model with a pair of heavy quarks in γγcollisions at the International Linear Collider (ILC). We find that the cross section for t\bar{t}h_t in γγcollisions is at the level of a few fb with the c.m. energy \sqrt{s}=1000 GeV, which is consistent with the results of the cross section of t\bar{t}H in the standard model and the cross section of t\bar{t}h in the minimal supersymmetric standard modeland the little Higgs models. It should be distinct that hundreds of to thousands of h_t per year can be produced at the ILC, this process of γγ\to t\bar{t}h_t is really interesting in testing the standard model and searching the signs of technicolor.
