A Lefschetz-Riemann-Roch theorem for singular schemes

In this paper, we prove a Lefschetz-Riemann-Roch theorem for singular projective schemes which admit diagonalisable group scheme actions, this result generalizes P. Baum, W. Fulton and G. Quart's Lefschetz-Riemann-Roch theorem for singular varieties (cf. \cite{BFQ}) to general scheme case.

Arithmetic invariants of Euclidean lattice

In this paper we study the arithmetic invariants of Euclidean lattice in the context of Arakelov geometry. We regard a Euclidean lattice as a hermitian vector bundle $\bar E$ on ${\rm Spec}(\mathbb{Z})$ and consider two typical arithmetic analogues of the dimension of the space of global sections of a vector bundle on an algebraic curve. One is $$h^0_{\rm Ar}(\bar E):=\log \vert E\cap B_1 \vert$$ where $B_1$ is the unit ball, and the other is $$h^0_{\theta}(\bar{E}):=\log\sum_{v\in E}e^{-\pi\Vert v\Vert^2}$$ where $\sum_{v\in E}e^{-\pi\Vert v\Vert^2}$ is the theta function of $\bar E$. In this paper, we shall prove the following three statements: (i) the fact that one can not reach an absolute Riemann-Roch theorem for $h^0_{\rm Ar}(\bar E)$ is an instance of the Heissenberg uncertainty principle; (ii) the finiteness of equivalence classes in the genus of a positive quadratic form defined over $\mathbb{Z}$ is equivalent to the finiteness of certain isometry classes of hermitian vector bundles on ${\rm Spec}(\mathbb{Z})$, and it can be deduced from a finiteness theorem in Arakelov theory of ${\rm Spec}(\mathbb{Z})$; (iii) for any smooth function $f$ on $\mathbb{R}_{+}$ such that $f>0$ and that $f\circ {\rm exp}$ is a Schwartz function on $\mathbb{R}$, the Mellin transform of $f$ can be written as an integral over the Arakelov divisor class group of ${\rm Spec}(\mathbb{Z})$.

A note on Taylor expansion of real function

Let $f(x)$ be a real function which has $(n+1)$-th derivative on an interval $[a, b]$. For any point $x_0\in (a, b)$ and any integer $0\leq k\leq n$, denote by $S_{k,x_0}(x)$ the $k$-th truncation of the Taylor expansion of $f(x)$ at $x_0$, i.e. $$S_{k,x_0}(x)=\sum_{i=0}^k\frac{f^{(i)}(x_0)}{i!}(x-x_0)^i.$$ In this note, we consider the $L_2$-approximation of $f(x)$ by polynomials of degree $\leq k$, we show that $S_{k,x_0}(x)$ is the limit of the best approximations of $f(x)$ on $[x_0-\varepsilon, x_0+\varepsilon]$ as $\varepsilon\to 0$.

An arithmetic Lefschetz-Riemann-Roch theorem. With an appendix by Xiaonan Ma

In this article, we consider regular projective arithmetic schemes in the context of Arakelov geometry, any of which is endowed with an action of the diagonalisable group scheme associated to a finite cyclic group and with an equivariant very ample invertible sheaf. For any equivariant morphism between such arithmetic schemes, which is smooth over the generic fibre, we define a direct image map between corresponding higher equivariant arithmetic K-groups and we discuss its transitivity property. Then we use the localization sequence of higher arithmetic K-groups and the higher arithmetic concentration theorem developed in \cite{T3} to prove an arithmetic Lefschetz-Riemann-Roch theorem. This theorem can be viewed as a generalization, to the higher equivariant arithmetic K-theory, of the fixed point formula of Lefschetz type proved by K. K\"{o}hler and D. Roessler in \cite{KR1}.

Localization theorem for higher arithmetic K-theory

Quillen's localization theorem is well known as a fundamental theorem in the study of algebraic K-theory. In this paper, we present its arithmetic analogue for the equivariant K-theory of arithmetic schemes, which are endowed with an action of certain diagonalisable group scheme. This equivariant arithmetic K-theory is defined by means of a natural extension of Burgos-Wang's simplicial description of Beilinson's regulator map to the equivariant case. As a byproduct of this work, we give an analytic refinement of the Riemann-Roch theorem for higher equivariant algebraic K-theory. And as an application, we prove a higher arithmetic concentration theorem which generalizes Thomason's corresponding result in purely algebraic case to the context of Arakelov geometry.

Canonical key formula for projective abelian schemes

In this paper we prove a refined version of the canonical key formula for projective abelian schemes in the sense of Moret-Bailly, we also extend this discussion to the context of Arakelov geometry. Precisely, let $\pi: A\to S$ be a projective abelian scheme over a locally noetherian scheme $S$ with unit section $e: S\to A$ and let $L$ be a symmetric, rigidified, relatively ample line bundle on $A$. Denote by $\omega_A$ the determinant of the sheaf of differentials of $\pi$ and by $d$ the rank of the locally free sheaf $\pi_*L$. In this paper, we shall prove the following results: (i). there is an isomorphism {\rm det}(\pi_*L)^{\otimes 24}\cong (e^*\omega_A^\vee)^{\otimes 12d} which is canonical in the sense that it is compatible with arbitrary base-change; (ii). if the generic fibre of $S$ is separated and smooth, then there exist positive integer $m$, canonical metrics on $L$ and on $\omega_A$ such that there exists an isometry {\rm det}(\pi_*\bar{L})^{\otimes 2m}\cong (e^*\bar{\omega}_A^\vee)^{\otimes md} which is canonical in the sense of (i). Here the constant $m$ only depends on $g,d$ and is independent of $L$.

Uniqueness of equivariant singular Bott-Chern classes

In this paper, we shall discuss possible theories of defining equivariant singular Bott-Chern classes and corresponding uniqueness property. By adding a natural axiomatic characterization to the usual ones of equivariant Bott-Chern secondary characteristic classes, we will see that the construction of Bismut's equivariant Bott-Chern singular currents provides a unique way to define a theory of equivariant singular Bott-Chern classes. This generalizes J. I. Burgos Gil and R. Li\c{t}canu's discussion to the equivariant case. As a byproduct of this study, we shall prove a concentration formula which can be used to prove an arithmetic concentration theorem in Arakelov geometry.

A Lefschetz fixed point formula for singular arithmetic schemes with smooth generic fibres

In this article, we consider singular equivariant arithmetic schemes whose generic fibres are smooth. For such schemes, we prove a relative fixed point formula of Lefschetz type in the context of Arakelov geometry. This formula is an analog, in the arithmetic case, of the Lefschetz formula proved by R. W. Thomason. In particular, our result implies a fixed point formula which was conjectured by V. Maillot and D. R\"{o}ssler.

Concentration theorem and relative fixed point formula of Lefschetz type in Arakelov geometry

In this paper we prove a concentration theorem for arithmetic $K_0$-theory, this theorem can be viewed as an analog of R. Thomason's result in the arithmetic case. We will use this arithmetic concentration theorem to prove a relative fixed point formula of Lefschetz type in the context of Arakelov geometry. Such a formula was conjectured of a slightly stronger form by K. K\"{o}hler and D. Roessler and they also gave a correct route of its proof. Nevertheless our new proof is much simpler since it looks more natural and it doesn't involve too many complicated computations.
