Evading Sudakov Dilution in Gluon Tomography

Sudakov broadening and competing azimuthal harmonics from final-state soft radiation limit the precision of gluon tomography. We suppress both effects using fiducial hadronic recoil---the vector sum of all hadronic transverse momenta within a rapidity interval---while a tagged jet fixes the azimuthal axis. Momentum conservation ensures that emissions inside the interval contribute neither to recoil broadening nor to these harmonics, so widening the interval reduces their impact without a soft-radiation veto. As a benchmark, we study the $\cos 2\phi$ modulation probing $h_1^{\perp g}$ in DIS. For rapidity interval $\Delta\eta=3$, fiducial recoil enhances the $h_1^{\perp g}$ contribution by a factor of $4.6$ and suppresses the final-state soft gluon term by a factor of $4.0$ relative to the conventional dijet imbalance. Fiducial recoil thereby enables precision gluon-TMD tomography.

Nucleon Tomography with 0-jettiness

We propose a novel strategy to systematically isolate the nucleon's intrinsic non-perturbative three-dimensional structure by employing 0-jettiness to suppress initial-state radiation in transverse-momentum-dependent observables. Applying this method to transverse single spin asymmetries (SSAs) in $W^\pm$ and $Z^0$ boson production at RHIC, we demonstrate a substantial enhancement of the asymmetry signal (e.g., by $115\%$ for $W^-$ SSA at $q_\perp=5$ GeV). We show that this enhancement yields a substantial net gain in experimental sensitivity -- even after accounting for the statistical cost of the veto -- facilitating a more definitive test of the predicted Sivers function sign change. We further explore its applicability to spin-dependent measurements at the Electron-Ion Collider. Our analysis is formulated within a joint resummation framework that systematically resums large logarithms associated with both the veto scale and the gauge boson's transverse momentum.

Azimuthal modulation in light-by-light scattering from ultraperipheral collisions at LHC

Elastic light-by-light(LbL) scattering, one of the most fascinating processes in the Standard Model(SM), has recently been observed in the ultraperipheral collisions(UPCs) of relativistic heavy ions in the Atlas and CMS experiments at the Large Hadron Collider LHC. Recognizing that the incident quasi-real photons in LbL scattering are strongly linearly polarized, we re-investigate the LbL scattering in UPCs by incorporating the joint dependence of the impact parameter and transverse momenta of the incident photons. We show that the linear polarization of incident photons generates a sizable $\cos2\phi$-type azimuthal modulation, which awaits the test in future LHC and EIC experiments.

Light nuclei photoproduction in relativistic heavy ion ultraperipheral collisions

We have investigated light nuclei pair photoproduction in relativistic heavy ion ultraperipheral collisions. As a first attempt, we employ our previously developed quantum electrodynamics model, which incorporates a wave-packet description of initial nuclei, to compute the cross section for proton-antiproton pair photoproduction. The effective vertex for the photon and proton interaction is chosen based on studies of two-photon exchange effects in hadron physics. We present the transverse momentum, invariant mass, and azimuthal angle distributions of proton-antiproton pairs at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV in Au+Au ultraperipheral collisions. We observe a $\cos(2\phi)$ modulation and an almost negligible $\cos(4\phi)$ modulation in the azimuthal angle distribution. Our studies helps us better understand the matter generated by light.

Nuclear deformation effects in photoproduction of $\rho$ mesons in ultraperipheral isobaric collisions

We have investigated the $\rho^{0}$ meson photoproduction in ultraperipheral isobaric collisions between $_{44}^{96}\textrm{Ru}+_{44}^{96}\textrm{Ru}$ and $_{40}^{96}\textrm{Zr}+_{40}^{96}\textrm{Zr}$ at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV, employing the dipole model with the equivalent photon approximation. By implementing the Woods-Saxon distribution to represent the nuclear mass density, which is derived from density functional theory with an inclusion of nuclear deformation effects, we have calculated the transverse momentum $q_{T}$ spectra in isobaric collisions. We observe the characteristic dip behavior in these spectra, indicative of diffraction phenomena in high-energy physics. We notice that the deformation effects cause a nearly linear increase with $q_{T}^{2}$ for $q_{T}^{2}\lesssim0.015$ $\textrm{GeV}^{2}$, aligning with experimental observations. We offer a simple explanation for the observed behavior in these spectra by introducing the effective width of the nuclei in the thickness function. We also extend our discussion on the $\rho^{0}$ meson photoproduction with the targets $^{63}\textrm{Cu}$,$^{197}\textrm{Au}$, and $^{238}\textrm{U}$.

Photoproduction of $e^{+}e^{-}$ in peripheral isobar collisions

We investigate the photoproduction of di-electrons in peripheral collisions of $_{44}^{96}\textrm{Ru}+_{44}^{96}\textrm{Ru}$ and $_{40}^{96}\textrm{Zr}+_{40}^{96}\textrm{Zr}$ at 200 GeV. With the charge and mass density distributions given by the calculation of the density functional theory, we calculate the spectra of transverse momentum, invariant mass and azimuthal angle for di-electrons at 40-80\% centrality. The ratios of these spectra in Ru+Ru collisions over to Zr+Zr collisions are shown to be smaller than $(44/40)^{4}$ (the ratio of $Z^{4}$ for Ru and Zr) at low transverse momentum. The deviation arises from the different mass and charge density distributions in Ru and Zr. So the photoproduction of di-leptons in isobar collisions may provide a new way to probe the nuclear structure.

Lepton pair photoproduction in peripheral relativistic heavy-ion collisions

We study the lepton pair photoproduction in peripheral heavy-ion collisions based on the formalism in our previous work [Phys. Rev. D 104, 056011 (2021)]. We present the numerical results for the distributions of the transverse momentum, azimuthal angle and invariant mass for $e^{+}e^{-}$ and $\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ pairs as functions of the impact parameter and other kinematic variables in Au+Au collisions. Our calculation incorporates the information on the transverse momentum and polarization of photons which is essential to describe the experimental data. We observe a broadening effect in the transverse momentum for lepton pairs with and without smear effects. We also observe a significant enhancement in the distribution of $\cos(2\varphi)$ for $\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ pairs. Our results provide a baseline for future studies of other higher order corrections beyond Born approximation and medium effects in the lepton pair production.

An intelligent household greenhouse system design based on Internet of Things

In order to combine indoor greenery conservation with Internet of Things (IOT) Technologies, this paper designs an intelligent household greenhouse project with the features of comprehensive sensing, reliable transmission and intelligent processing. Through the analysis of functional requirements of the intelligent household greenhouse system, an intelligent household greenhouse system is designed with the functions of greenhouse environmental data detection, greenhouse environmental control regulation, data remote transmission and human-computer interaction. Its sensor layer collects environmental data in real time based on the ZigBee wireless sensor network. The network layer STM32 intelligent gateway coordinates with network server, so as to exchange data from sensor layer to application layer, and solve the problems of non-blocking of data sending and receiving as well as concurrent requests of multiple mobile terminals. The application layer is designed into two types. One is a desktop management system as a data storage and analysis center, and the other is a mobile terminal APP. At the same time, we design a communication protocol that is applicable to the interaction of the three-layer structure of the Internet of Things, with the characteristics of simplicity, stability, readability, and scalability. It can avoid the mutual influence of multi-level data exchange and ensure the correctness of data circulation. In the design, the system sensor layer ensures stable transmission of various data and instructions, and the network layer has a high degree of concurrency and real time. And various measurement and control data of the sensor layer can interact with the data of mobile-terminal equipment of the application layer. The desktop management system and mobile terminal APP can monitor greenhouse data in real time and control various actuators in the greenhouse.
