Stability and singular set of the two-convex level set flow

The level set flow of a mean-convex closed hypersurface is stable off singularities, in the sense that the level set flow of the perturbed hypersurface would be close in the smooth topology to the original flow wherever the latter is regular. To study the behavior near singularities, we further assume that the initial hypersurface is two-convex and that the flow has finitely many singular times. In this case, the singular set of the flow would have finitely many connected components, each of which is either a point or a compact $C^{1}$ embedded curve. Then under additional conditions, we show that near each connected component of the singular set of the original flow, the perturbed flow would have "the same type" of singular set as that of the singular component.

Singular set and curvature blow-up rate of the level set flow

Under certain conditions such as the $2$-convexity, a singularity of the level set flow is of type I (in the sense that the rate of curvature blow-up is constrained before and after the singular time) if and only if the flow shrinks to either a round point or a $C^{1}$ curve near that singular point. Analytically speaking, the arrival time is $C^{2}$ near a critical point if and only if it satisfies a Lojasiewicz inequality near the point.

Asymptotic Behavior and Stability of Mean Curvature Flow with a Conical End

If the initial hypersurface of an immortal mean curvature flow is asymptotic to a regular cone whose entropy is small, the flow will become asymptotically self-expanding. Moreover, the expander that gives rise to the limiting flow is asymptotically stable as an equilibrium solution of the normalized mean curvature flow.

Extension of two-dimensional mean curvature flow with free boundary

Given a mean curvature flow of compact, embedded $C^2$ surfaces satisfying Neumann free boundary condition on a mean convex, smooth support surface in 3-dimensional Euclidean space, we show that it can be extended as long as its mean curvature and perimeter stay uniformly bounded along the flow.

Existence of self-shrinkers to the degree-one curvature flow with a rotationally symmetric conical end

Given a smooth, symmetric, homogeneous of degree one function $f\left(λ_{1},\cdots,\,λ_{n}\right)$ satisfying $\partial_{i}f>0$ for all $i=1,\cdots,\,n$, and a rotationally symmetric cone $\mathcal{C}$ in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$, we show that there is a $f$ self-shrinker (i.e. a hypersurface $Σ$ in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ which satisfies $f\left(κ_{1},\cdots,\,κ_{n}\right)+\frac{1}{2}X\cdot N=0$, where $X$ is the position vector, $N$ is the unit normal vector, and $κ_{1},\cdots,\,κ_{n}$ are principal curvatures of $Σ$) that is asymptotic to $\mathcal{C}$ at infinity.

Analysis of Vel$\acute{a}$zquez's solution to the mean curvature flow with a type $\mathrm{II}$ singularity

J.J.L. Vel$\acute{a}$zquez in 1994 used the degree theory to show that there is a perturbation of Simons' cone, starting from which the mean curvature flow develops a type $\mathrm{II}$ singularity at the origin. He also showed that under a proper time-dependent rescaling of the solution around the origin, the rescaled flow converges in the $C^{0}$ sense to a minimal hypersurface which is tangent to Simons' cone at infinity. In this paper, we prove that the rescaled flow actually converges locally smoothly to the minimal hypersurface, which appears to be the singularity model of the type $\mathrm{II}$ singularity. In addition, we show that the mean curvature of the solution blows up near the origin at a rate which is smaller than that of the second fundamental form.

Uniqueness of self-shrinkers to the degree-one curvature flow with a tangent cone at infinity

Given a smooth, symmetric, homogeneous of degree one function $f=f\left(λ_{1},\cdots,\,λ_{n}\right)$ satisfying $\partial_{i}f>0$ for all $i=1,\cdots,\, n$, and an oriented, properly embedded smooth cone $\mathcal{C}^n$ in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$, we show that under some suitable conditions on $f$ and the covariant derivatives of the second fundamental form of $\mathcal{C}$, there is at most one $f$ self-shrinker (i.e. an oriented hypersurface $Σ^n$ in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ for which $f\left(κ_{1},\cdots,\,κ_{n}\right)+\frac{1}{2}X\cdot N=0$ holds, where $X$ is the position vector, $N$ is the unit normal vector, and $κ_{1},\cdots,\,κ_{n}$ are principal curvatures of $Σ$) that is asymptotic to the given cone $\mathcal{C}$ at infinity.
