Two-dimensional clay channels for tunable nanofluidic memristor

Dynamic reconfiguration of charge carriers in confined ion-channels under electrical stimulation produces memory effects, where the internal resistance depends on history of the electric field. Vermiculite nanofluidic devices harness this effect to store and process information within a single component. We report switching between distinct memory loops by tuning ion transport pathways, governed by asymmetrical device architecture and intrinsic surface-charge. Polarity-dependent memory switching between crossing-1 and crossing-2 loops is achieved solely by altering electrode configurations, without modifying electrolyte, channel surface chemistry or device structure: providing mechanistic insights into ionic memristors through a straightforward, experimental strategy. The memristive characteristics are demonstrated in both in-plane and out-of-plane channel configurations with channel lengths spanning from centimeters to micrometers length scales using re-stacked vermiculite membranes and further investigated for miniaturization with devices of nanometer scale channel lengths, fabricated via ultramicrotomy method. Furthermore, we demonstrate neuromorphic functionalities, including synaptic potentiation-depression and programmable memory retention, highlighting potential for bio-inspired computing systems. Cost-effective and scalable fabrication solution processed vermiculite membrane memristors pave the way for practical integration of nanofluidic memristors for neuromorphic computing applications.

An Open-Source Framework for Measurement and Analysis of Nanoscale Ionic Transport

Nanofluidic systems exploit nanometre-scale confinement in channels and pores to regulate ionic transport, enabling functionalities such as osmotic energy harvesting and neuromorphic ionic memory. Studying such confined transport requires both precise electrical instrumentation and careful data analysis, yet, in practice, measurements are still often taken with vendor software, exported as files, and processed later in separate environments. In this work, we bring these steps together in a unified Python-based framework built around three interoperable graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for nanochannel, nanopore and memristor experiments. The framework is organised into two functional parts, measurement and analysis. On the measurement side, two GUIs drive Keithley Source Meters to run continuous voltage sweeps and user-defined memristive pulse sequences, while providing live plots, configuration management and controlled shutdown routines. On the analysis side, a dedicated nanochannel and nanopore GUI reads raw I-V datasets, applies unit-consistent processing, extracts conductance and ion mobility, evaluates selectivity and osmotic power, and is complemented by a web-based calculator that performs the same mobility analysis without a local Python installation. All three GUIs are implemented in Python/Tkinter with modular plotting and logging layers so that flexible control sequences and physics-based post-processing share a common data format, improving reproducibility, timing stability and day-to-day efficiency in nanofluidic and electronic device studies.

Battery State of Charge Modeling for Solar PV Array using Polynomial Regression

In this manuscript, we have investigated the response of the State of Charge (SoC) and the open-circuit voltage across the dynamic battery model under the variable voltage and current during the charging cycle of the battery. These variable input voltage and current have been obtained using the variable irradiance and surface temperature of a Solar PV array which is connected as an input of the dynamic battery model to store the energy within it. In order to match the Simulation result with reality, these variable irradiance and surface temperature of Solar PV Array with respect to time has been simulated. After forming and storing the energy within the dynamic battery model; the SoC of the battery has been estimated using the Kalman filter approach. After the successful estimation of SoC; the Open Circuit Voltage (OCV) and State of Charge (SoC) have been plotted using the polynomial regression technique. The regression plots between the OCV and SoC have been drawn for the polynomial degree of 2, 3,4, and 5. Results reveal that R$^2$ keeps increasing as we increase the degrees of regression. Simultaneously the value of RMSE keeps decreasing as we increase the degree of the polynomial regression.

Recurrent Neural Based Electricity Load Forecasting of G-20 Members

Forecasting the actual amount of electricity with respect to the need/demand of the load is always been a challenging task for each power plants based generating stations. Due to uncertain demand of electricity at receiving end of station causes several challenges such as: reduction in performance parameters of generating and receiving end stations, minimization in revenue, increases the jeopardize for the utility to predict the future energy need for a company etc. With this issues, the precise forecasting of load at the receiving end station is very consequential parameter to establish the impeccable balance between supply and demand chain. In this paper, the load forecasting of G-20 members have been performed utilizing the Recurrent Neural Network coupled with sliding window approach for data generation. During the experimentation we have achieved Mean Absolute Test Error of 16.2193 TWh using LSTM.
