Conformal paraquaternionic contact curvature and the local flatness theorem

A tensor invariant is defined on a paraquaternionic contact manifold in terms of the curvature and torsion of the canonical paraquaternionic connection involving derivatives up to third order of the contact form. This tensor, called paraquaternionic contact conformal curvature, is similar to the Weyl conformal curvature in Riemannian geometry, the Chern-Moser tensor in CR geometry, the para contact curvature in para CR geometry and to the quaternionic contact conformal curvature in quaternionic contact geometry. It is shown that a paraquaternionic contact manifold is locally paraquaternionic contact conformal to the standard flat paraquaternionic contact structure on the paraquaternionic Heisenberg group, or equivalently, to the standard para 3-Sasakian structure on the paraquaternionic pseudo-sphere iff the paraquaternionic contact conformal curvature vanishes.

Geometry of paraquaternionic contact structures

We introduce the notion of paraquaternionic contact structures (pqc structures), which turns out to be a generalization of the para 3-Sasakian geometry. We derive a distinguished linear connection preserving the pqc structure. Its torsion tensor is expressed explicitly in terms of the structure tensors and the structure equations of a pqc manifold are presented. We define pqc-Einstein manifolds and show that para 3-Sasakian spaces are precisely pqc manifolds, which are pqc-Einstein. Furthermore, we introduce the paraquaternionic Heisenberg qroup and show that it is the flat model of the pqc geometry.

Slant and Legendre Null Curves in 3-Dimensional Sasaki-like Almost Contact B-Metric Manifolds

Object of study in the present paper are slant and Legendre null curves in 3-dimensional Sasaki-like almost contact B-metric manifolds. For the examined curves we express the general Frenet frame and the Frenet frame for which the original parameter is distinguished, as well as the corresponding curvatures, in terms of the structure on the manifold. We prove that the curvatures of a framed null slant and Legendre curve are constants if and only if a specific function for the considered manifolds is a constant. We find a necessary and sufficient condition a slant null curve to be a generalized helix and a Legendre null curve to be a null cubic. For some of investigated curves we show that they are non-null slant or Legendre curves with respect to the associated B-metric on the manifold. We give examples of the examined curves. Some of them are constructed in a 3-dimensional Lie group as Sasaki-like manifold and their matrix representation is obtained.

On the geometry of trans-para-Sasakian manifolds

In this paper, we introduce the trans-para-Sasakian manifolds and we study their geometry. These manifolds are an analogue of the trans-Sasakian manifolds in the Riemannian geometry. We shall investigate many curvature properties of these manifolds and we shall give many conditions under which the manifolds are either $η-$Einstein or Einstein manifolds.

On para-Kenmotsu manifolds

In this paper we study para-Kenmotsu manifolds. We characterize this manifolds by tensor equations and study their properties. We are devoted to a study of $η-$Einstein manifolds. We show that a conformally flat para-Kenmotsu manifold is a space of constant negative curvature $-1$ and we prove that if a para-Kenmotsu manifold is a space of constant $φ-$para-holomorphic sectional curvature $H$, then it is a space of constant curvature and $H=-1$. Finally the object of the present paper is to study a 3-dimensional para-Kenmotsu manifold, satisfying certain curvature conditions. Among other, it is proved that any 3-dimensional para-Kenmotsu manifold with $η-$parallel Ricci tensor is of constant scalar curvature and any 3-dimensional para-Kenmotsu manifold satisfying cyclic Ricci tensor is a manifold of constant negative curvature $-1$.

The decomposition of almost paracontact metric manifolds in eleven classes revisited

This paper is a continuation of our previous work, where eleven basic classes of almost paracontact metric manifolds with respect to the covariant derivative of the structure tensor field were obtained. First we decompose one of the eleven classes into two classes and the basic classes of the considered manifolds become twelve. Also, we determine the classes of $α$-para-Sasakian, $α$-para-Kenmotsu, normal, paracontact metric, para-Sasakian, K-paracontact and quasi-para-Sasakian manifolds. Moreover, we study 3-dimensional almost paracontact metric manifolds and show that they belong to four basic classes from the considered classification. We define an almost paracontact metric structure on any 3-dimensional Lie group and give concrete examples of Lie groups belonging to each of the four basic classes, characterized by commutators on the corresponding Lie algebras.

Conformal paracontact curvature and the local flatness theorem

A curvature-type tensor invariant called para contact (pc) conformal curvature is defined on a paracontact manifold. It is shown that a paracontact manifold is locally paracontact conformal to the hyperbolic Heisenberg group or to a hyperquadric of neutral signature if and only if the pc conformal curvature vanishes. In the three dimensional case the corresponding result is achieved through employing a certain symmetric (0,2) tensor. The well known result of Cartan-Chern-Moser giving necessary and sufficient condition a CR-structure to be CR equivalent to a hyperquadric in the complex vector space is presented in-line with the paracontact case. An explicit formula for the regular part of a solution to the sub-ultrahyperbolic Yamabe equation on the hyperbolic Heisenberg group is shown.

Canonical connections on paracontact manifolds

The canonical paracontact connection is defined and it is shown that its torsion is the obstruction the paracontact manifold to be paraSasakian. A $\mathcal{D}$-homothetic transformation is determined as a special gauge transformation. The $η$-Einstein manifold are defined, it is prove that their scalar curvature is a constant and it is shown that in the paraSasakian case these spaces can be obtained from Einstein paraSasakian manifolds with a $\mathcal{D}$-homothetic transformations. It is shown that an almost paracontact structure admits a connection with totally skew-symmetric torsion if and only if the Nijenhuis tensor of the paracontact structure is skew-symmetric and the defining vector field is Killing.

Twistor and Reflector Spaces of Almost Para-Quaternionic Manifolds

We investigate the integrability of natural almost complex structures on the twistor space of an almost para-quaternionic manifold as well as the integrability of natural almost paracomplex structures on the reflector space of an almost para-quaternionic manifold constructed with the help of a para-quaternionic connection. We show that if there is an integrable structure it is independent on the para-quaternionic connection. In dimension four, we express the anti-self-duality condition in terms of the Riemannian Ricci forms with respect to the associated para-quaternionic structure.

Para-Hermitian and Para-Quaternionic manifolds

A set of canonical parahermitian connections on an almost paraHermitian manifold is defined. ParaHermitian version of the Apostolov-Gauduchon generalization of the Goldberg-Sachs theorem in General Relativity is given. It is proved that the Nijenhuis tensor of a Nearly paraKähler manifolds is parallel with respect to the canonical connection. Salamon's twistor construction on quaternionic manifold is adapted to the paraquaternionic case. A hyper-paracomplex structure is constructed on Kodaira-Thurston (properly elliptic) surfaces as well as on the Inoe surfaces modeled on $Sol^4_1$. A locally conformally flat hyper-paraKähler (hypersymplectic) structure with parallel Lee form on Kodaira-Thurston surfaces is obtained. Anti-self-dual non-Weyl flat neutral metric on Inoe surfaces modeled on $Sol^4_1$ is presented. An example of anti-self-dual neutral metric which is not locally conformally hyper-paraKähler is constructed.

Hyper-ParaHermitian manifolds with torsion

Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a hyper-parahermitian connection with totally skew-symmetric torsion (HPKT-structure) are presented. It is shown that any HPKT-structure is locally generated by a real (potential) function. An invariant first order differential operator is defined on any almost hyper-paracomplex manifold showing that it is two-step nilpotent exactly when the almost hyper-paracomplex structure is integrable. A local HPKT-potential is expressed in terms of this operator. Examples of (locally) invariant HPKT-structures with closed as well as non-closed torsion 3-form on a class of (locally) homogeneous hyperparacomplex manifolds (some of them compact) are constructed.
