Nonlinear resistance forms

In this paper we introduce the notion of nonlinear resistance forms. We define a $1$-parameter family of nonlinear resistance metrics and show their additivity over serial circuits. Moreover, we prove that resistance forms and $p$-resistance forms fall into our framework.

Nonlinear Beurling-Deny criteria

This short note introduces a simple symmetric contraction property for functionals. This property clearly characterizes Dirichlet forms in the linear case. We show that it also characterizes Dirichlet forms in the non-linear case. Furthermore, we use this property to gain a new perspective on criteria of Cipriani / Grillo as well as Brigati / Hartarsky.

Recurrent and (strongly) resolvable graphs

We develop a new approach to recurrence and the existence of non-constant harmonic functions on infinite weighted graphs. The approach is based on the capacity of subsets of metric boundaries with respect to intrinsic metrics. The main tool is a connection between polar sets in such boundaries and null sets of paths. This connection relies on suitably diverging functions of finite energy.

Characterizations of canonically compactifiable graphs via intrinsic metrics and algebraic properties

We consider infinite graphs and the associated energy forms. We show that a graph is canonically compactifiable (i.e. all functions of finite energy are bounded) if and only if the underlying set is totally bounded with respect to any finite measure intrinsic metric. Furthermore, we show that a graph is canonically compactifiable if and only if the space of functions of finite energy is an algebra. These results answer questions in a recent work of Georgakopoulos, Haeseler, Keller, Lenz, Wojciechowski.
