Collective Flow, Kinetic Freeze-Out, and a Data-Driven Baryon Chemical Potential in Au+Au Collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 7.7$--$39$ GeV

We study how transverse and longitudinal collective flow affect kinetic freeze-out conditions and the net baryon density in 0--5\% central Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 7.7$--$39$ GeV, using a covariant statistical fireball model fitted to STAR identified-hadron transverse-momentum spectra at three fixed longitudinal velocities $v_z = 0$, $0.2$, and $0.4$. \rev{Longitudinal flow shifts the extracted temperature upward through a kinematic $v_z$--$T$ degeneracy rather than by hardening the spectra; imposing $T \le T_c \approx 155$--$160$ MeV bounds the longitudinal flow to $v_z \lesssim 0.6$.} \nw{A simultaneous $π^+$, $K^+$, $p$ fit with shared $(T, v_T)$ sharpens the extraction \fx{by a factor of $3.7$--$5.3$ on $T$ relative to the single-species proton fit} and gives $T_{\rm kin}\simeq107$--$115$~MeV, reproducing STAR's independent blast-wave values \fx{to within $0.9σ$} and lying well below the chemical freeze-out temperature.} \fx{Further including the antiproton spectra, with a normalization shared between $p$ and $\bar p$, breaks the fugacity--normalization degeneracy and makes the baryon chemical potential data-driven: the $\bar p/p$ ratio fixes $μ_B/T$, the meson spectra fix $T$, and together they give $μ_B \simeq 262$--$63$~MeV at kinetic freeze-out, satisfying $μ_B/T_{\rm kin} \simeq (0.85$--$0.88)\,μ_B^{\rm ch}/T_{\rm ch}$: the $\bar p/p$ ratio is thus largely, but not exactly, set at the chemical surface, the $12$--$15\%$ deficit being significant at up to $3.2σ$. The resulting kinetic freeze-out trajectory in the $(ρ_B,\varepsilon)$ plane shows that decoupling occurs in a dilute system, reaching only $ρ_B \simeq 0.03\,n_0$ at $7.7$~GeV, \fx{a factor of $\simeq25$} below the chemical-surface compression maximum, while longitudinal flow raises the inferred \fx{$ρ_B$} by up to a factor of $\sim$4.}

Longitudinal asymmetry in heavy ion collisions at RHIC

The longitudinal asymmetry arises in relativistic heavy ion collisions due to fluctuation in the number of participating nucleons. This asymmetry causes a shift in the center of mass rapidity of the participant zone. The rapidity shift as well as the longitudinal asymmetry have been found to be significant at the top LHC energy for collisions of identical nuclei. We study the longitudinal asymmetry and its effect on charged particle rapidity distribution and anisotropic flow parameters at relatively lower RHIC energies using a model calculation. The rapidity shift is found to be more pronounced for peripheral collisions, smaller systems and also for lower beam energies due to longitudinal asymmetry. A detailed study has been done by associating the average rapidity shift to a polynomial relation where the coefficients of this polynomial characterize the effect of the asymmetry. We show that the rapidity shift may affect observables significantly at RHIC energies.

Electro-magnetic field fluctuation and its correlation with the participant plane in Au+Au and isobaric collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV

Intense transient electric ({\bf E}) and magnetic ({\bf B}) fields are produced in the high energy heavy-ion collisions. The electromagnetic fields produced in such high-energy heavy-ion collisions are proposed to give rise to a multitude of exciting phenomenon including the Chiral Magnetic Effect. We use a Monte Carlo (MC) Glauber model to calculate the electric and magnetic fields, more specifically their scalar product $\bf{E}\cdot\bf{B}$, as a function of space-time on an event-by-event basis for the Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV for different centrality classes. We also calculate the same for the isobars Ruthenium and Zirconium at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV. In the QED sector $\bf{E}\cdot\bf{B}$ acts as a source of Chiral Separation Effect, Chiral Magnetic Wave, etc., which are associated phenomena to the Chiral Magnetic Effect. We also study the relationships between the electromagnetic symmetry plane angle defined by $\bf{E}\cdot\bf{B}$ ($ψ_{E.B}$) and the participant plane angle $ψ_{P}$ defined from the participating nucleons for the second-fifth order harmonics.

Effect of simulating parity-odd observables in high energy heavy ion collisions on Balance Functions of charged particles and elliptic flow of pions

At the early stage of heavy ion collisions, non-trivial topologies of the gauge fields can be created resulting in an imbalance of axial charge density and eventually separation of electric charges along the direction of the magnetic field produced in such collisions. This process is called the chiral magnetic effect (CME). In this work we implement such a charge separation at the partonic level in AMPT for Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 200 GeV to study its consequence on experimental observables. We present the effects on the pion elliptic flow ($v_2$) and the charged particle balance function (BF) for varying strengths of initial charge separation. We find that the shape of the balance function is sensitive to the increasing charge separation. $v_2$ of pion shows a strong decreasing trend at higher transverse momenta ($p_T$) with increasing charge separation. Charge balance functions show a peak at $Δϕ\sim 180 $ with charge separation implemented in the partonic level as expected for the parity violation. We have also calculated parity observable $γ$ in the form of BF's moments. $γ$ shows a decreasing trend with charge separation. It has a negative value for charge separation produced by flipping more than 30 $\%$ of quarks in the parton level. We also notice that $<γ>$ for the same charge correlation and the opposite charge correlation shows negative and positive values, respectively.

Charge correlations using balance functions of identified particles in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 2.76$ TeV with ALICE

By studying the balance functions of several hadronic species, one can gain insight into the chem-ical evolution of the Quark \textendash Gluon Plasma and radial flow. In a picture of early hadronisation,pairs of particles and anti-particles (created at the same space \textendash time point) are separated furtherin rapidity due to the higher initial temperature and diffusive interactions with other particles.Therefore delayed hadronisation will lead to strong correlations in rapidity in the final state. In this work, balance functions for identified charged-pion pairs measured by the ALICE detector atthe Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Pb \textendash Pb collisions at \sqrt{s_{NN}} = 2.76 TeV are presented. These balance functions are presented in relative rapidity (Δy) and relative azimuthal angle (Δφ). It isobserved that the charged-pion balance function widths in Δy and Δφget narrower in central Pb \textendash Pb collisions compared to peripheral collisions. The findings in this analysis are consistent withthe effects of delayed hadronisation and radial flow.
