The ABJM Amplituhedron

In this paper, we take a major step towards the construction and applications of an all-loop, all-multiplicity amplituhedron for three-dimensional planar $\mathcal{N}=6$ Chern-Simons matter theory, or the $\textit{ABJM amplituhedron}$. We show that by simply changing the overall sign of the positive region of the original amplituhedron for four-dimensional planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills (sYM) and performing a symplectic reduction, only three-dimensional kinematics in the middle sector of even-multiplicity survive. The resulting form of the geometry, combined with its parity images, gives the full loop integrand. This simple modification geometrically enforces the vanishing of odd-multiplicity cuts, and manifests the correct soft cuts as well as two-particle unitarity cuts. Furthermore, the so-called ``bipartite structures" of four-point all-loop negative geometries also directly generalize to all multiplicities. We introduce a novel approach for triangulating loop amplituhedra based on the kinematics of the tree region, resulting in local integrands tailored to ``prescriptive unitarity". This construction sheds fascinating new light on the interplay between loop and tree amplituhedra for both ABJM and $\mathcal{N}=4$ sYM: the loop geometry demands that the tree region must be dissected into $\textit{chambers}$, defined by the simultaneous positivity of maximal cuts. The loop geometry is then the ``fibration" of the tree region. Using the new construction, we give explicit results of one-loop integrands up to ten points and two-loop integrands up to eight points by computing the canonical form of ABJM loop amplituhedron.

Pseudo entropy of primary operators in $T\bar{T}$/$J\bar{T}$-deformed CFTs

In this work, we investigate the time evolution of the pseudo-(Rényi) entropy after local primary operator quenches in 2D CFTs with $T\bar T/J\bar T$-deformation. Using perturbation theory, we analyze the corrections to the second pseudo-Rényi entropy at the late time, which exhibit a universal form, while its early-time behavior is model-dependent. Moreover, we uncover nontrivial time-dependent effects arising from the first-order deformation of the $k^{\rm th}$ pseudo-Rényi entropy at the late time. Additionally, drawing inspiration from the gravitational side, specifically the gluing of two cutoff AdS geometries, we investigate the $k^{\rm th}$ pseudo-Rényi entropy for vacuum states characterized by distinct $T\bar{T}$-deformation parameters, as well as for primary states acting on different deformed vacuum states. Our findings reveal additional corrections compared to the results of pseudo-Rényi entropy for globally deformed vacuum states.

Notes on Worldsheet-Like Variables for Cluster Configuration Spaces

We continue the exploration of various appearances of cluster algebras in scattering amplitudes and related topics in physics. The cluster configuration spaces generalize the familiar moduli space ${\mathcal M}_{0,n}$ to finite-type cluster algebras. We study worldsheet-like variables, which for classical types have also appeared in the study of the symbol alphabet of Feynman integrals. We provide a systematic derivation of these variables from $Y$-systems, which allows us to express the dihedral coordinates in terms of them and to write the corresponding cluster string integrals in compact forms. We mainly focus on the $D_n$ type and show how to reach the boundaries of the configuration space, and write the saddle-point equations in terms of these variables. Moreover, these variables make it easier to study various topological properties of the space using a finite-field method. We propose conjectures about quasi-polynomial point count, dimensions of cohomology, and the number of saddle points for the $D_n$ space up to $n=10$, which greatly extend earlier results.

Emergent unitarity, all-loop cuts and integrations from the ABJM amplituhedron

We elaborate on aspects of a new positive geometry proposed recently, which was conjectured to be the four-point amplituhedron for ABJM theory. We study generalized unitarity cuts from the geometry, and in particular we prove that (1) the four-point integrand satisfies perturbative unitarity (or optical theorem) to all loops, which follows directly from the geometry, and (2) vanishing cuts involving odd-point amplitudes follow from the ``bipartite" nature of the associated ``negative geometries", which justifies their appearance in ABJM theory. We also take a first step in integrating the forms of these negative geometries and obtain an infrared-finite quantity up to two loops, from which we extract the cusp anomalous dimension at leading order.

Holographic study of higher-order baryon number susceptibilities at finite temperature and density

The cumulants of baryon number fluctuations serve as a good probe for experimentally exploring the QCD phase diagram at finite density, giving rise to characteristic fluctuation patterns associated with a possible critical endpoint (CEP). We compute the higher-order baryon number susceptibilities at finite temperature and baryon chemical potential using a holographic QCD model to address the non-perturbative aspect of strongly coupled QCD matter. The model can accurately confront lattice QCD data on a quantitative level and the location of the CEP is found to fall within the range accessible to upcoming experimental measurements. The baryon number susceptibilities up to the twelfth order are computed, and the collision energy dependence of different ratios of these susceptibilities is examined along the chemical freeze-out line. The holographic results show quantitative agreement with experimental data and the functional renormalization group results in a large collision energy range, with all ratios exhibiting a peak structure around 5-10 GeV. The mismatching between our holographic results with experimental data for sufficiently low collision energy is possibly due to non-equilibrium effects and complex experimental environments. The future experiments with measurements in the low collision energy range $\sqrt{S_{NN}}\approx 1-10~\text{GeV}$ and reduced experimental uncertainty could reveal more non-monotonic behavior signals which can be used to locate the CEP.

Constructible reality condition of pseudo entropy via pseudo-Hermiticity

As a generalization of entanglement entropy, pseudo entropy is not always real. The real-valued pseudo entropy has promising applications in holography and quantum phase transition. We apply the notion of pseudo-Hermticity to formulate the reality condition of pseudo entropy. We find the general form of the transition matrix for which the eigenvalues of the reduced transition matrix possess real or complex pairs of eigenvalues. Further, we construct a class of transition matrices for which the pseudo (Rényi) entropies are non-negative. Some known examples which give real pseudo entropy in quantum field theories can be explained in our framework. Our results offer a novel method to generate the transition matrix with real pseudo entropy. Finally, we show the reality condition for pseudo entropy is related to the Tomita-Takesaki modular theory for quantum field theory.

$T\bar{T}$ deformed soft theorem

In this paper, we derive a $T\bar{T}$ deformed soft graviton theorem in the context of celestial holography. As a concrete example, it illustrates that a two-dimensional irrelevant deformation can be applied to a four-dimensional theory at the level of amplitudes. We argue that the $T\bar{T}$ deformation has a close relation to the loop-correction from the amplitude side which could provide an alternative way to construct an ultraviolet complete quantum theory of gravity.

Jumpstarting (elliptic) symbol integrations for loop integrals

We derive an algorithm for computing the total differentials of multi-loop integrals expressed as one-fold integrals of multiple polylogarithms, which can involve square roots of polynomials up to degree four and may evaluate to (elliptic) multiple polylogarithms ((e)MPL). This gives simple algebraic rules for computing the $(W{-}1, 1)$-coproduct of the resulting weight-$W$ functions up to period terms, and iterating it gives the symbol without actually performing any integration. In particular, our algorithm generalizes existing MPL integration rules and sidesteps the complicated rationalization procedure in the presence of square roots. We apply our algorithm to conformal double-$D$-gon integrals in $D$ dimensions with generic kinematics and possibly massive circumferential propagators. We directly compute, for the first time, the total differential and symbol (up to period terms) of the $D{=}3$ double-triangle and the $D{=}4$ double-box, which in the special case with massless propagators represent the first appearance of eMPL functions in (two-loop) scattering amplitudes of ${\cal N}{=}6$ Chern-Simons-matter theory and ${\cal N}{=}4$ super-Yang-Mills, respectively.

Genus Two Correlation Functions in CFTs with $T\bar{T}$ Deformation

Since the definition of $T\bar{T}$ deformation in the curved Riemann surface is obstructive in the literature, we propose a way to do the deformation in the genus two Riemann surfaces by sewing prescription. We construct the correlation functions of conformal field theories (CFTs) on genus two Riemann surfaces with the $T\bar{T}$ deformation in terms of the perturbative CFT approach. Thanks to sewing construction to form higher genus Riemann surfaces from lower genus ones and conformal symmetry, we systematically obtain the first order $T\bar{T}$ correction to the genus two correlation functions in the $T\bar{T}$ deformed CFTs, e.g., partition function and one/higher-point correlation functions.

Holographic torus correlators of stress tensor in $AdS_3/CFT_2$

In the context of $\rm AdS_3/CFT_2$, we investigate holographic correlators of the stress tensor of a conformal field theory (CFT) on a torus in this work. To calculate the correlators of the stress tensor, we employ the Einstein-Hilbert theory of gravity and perturbatively solve Einstein's equation in the bulk. We offer an explicit prescription to develop a recurrence relation that makes it simple to compute higher point correlators. The correlators and the recurrence relation are found to be consistent with what is known in CFTs. Following the spirit of the proposed cutoff $\rm AdS$/$T\bar{T}$ CFT holography, we then expand our computation program to investigate holographic torus correlators at a finite cutoff in the $\rm AdS_3$. A parallel recurrence relation associated with higher point correlators can be obtained.

Probing QCD critical point and induced gravitational wave by black hole physics

Locating the critical endpoint of QCD and the region of a first-order phase transition at finite baryon chemical potential is an active research area for QCD matter. We provide a gravitational dual description of QCD matter at finite baryon chemical potential and finite temperature using the non-perturbative approach from gauge/gravity duality. After fixing all model parameters using state-of-the-art lattice QCD data at zero chemical potential, the predicted equations of state and QCD trace anomaly relation are in quantitative agreement with the latest lattice results. We then give the exact location of the critical endpoint as well as the first-order transition line, which is within the coverage of many upcoming experimental measurements. Moreover, using the data from our model at finite baryon chemical potential, we calculate the spectrum of the stochastic gravitational wave background associated with the first-order QCD transition in the early universe, which could be observable via pulsar timing in the future.

Perfecting one-loop BCJ numerators in SYM and supergravity

We take a major step towards computing $D$-dimensional one-loop amplitudes in general gauge theories, compatible with the principles of unitarity and the color-kinematics duality. For $n$-point amplitudes with either supersymmetry multiplets or generic non-supersymmetric matter in the loop, simple all-multiplicity expressions are obtained for the maximal cuts of kinematic numerators of $n$-gon diagrams. At $n=6,7$ points with maximal supersymmetry, we extend the cubic-diagram numerators to encode all contact terms, and thus solve the long-standing problem of \emph{simultaneously} realizing the following properties: color-kinematics duality, manifest locality, optimal power counting of loop momenta, quadratic rather than linearized Feynman propagators, compatibility with double copy as well as all graph symmetries. Color-kinematics dual representations with similar properties are presented in the half-maximally supersymmetric case at $n=4,5$ points. The resulting gauge-theory integrands and their supergravity counterparts obtained from the double copy are checked to reproduce the expected ultraviolet divergences.

Cutting the traintracks: Cauchy, Schubert and Calabi-Yau

In this note we revisit the maximal-codimension residues, or leading singularities, of four-dimensional $L$-loop traintrack integrals with massive legs, both in Feynman parameter space and in momentum (twistor) space. We identify a class of "half traintracks" as the most general degenerations of traintracks with conventional (0-form) leading singularities, although the integrals themselves still have rigidity $\lfloor\frac{L-1}2\rfloor$ due to lower-loop "full traintrack'' subtopologies. As a warm-up exercise, we derive closed-form expressions for their leading singularities both via (Cauchy's) residues in Feynman parameters, and more geometrically using the so-called Schubert problems in momentum twistor space. For $L$-loop full traintracks, we compute their leading singularities as integrals of $(L{-}1)$-forms, which proves that the rigidity is $L{-}1$ as expected; the form is given by an inverse square root of an irreducible polynomial quartic with respect to each variable, which characterizes an $(L{-}1)$-dim Calabi-Yau manifold (elliptic curve, K3 surface, etc.) for any $L$. We also briefly comment on the implications for the "symbology" of these traintrack integrals.

The two-loop eight-point amplitude in ABJM theory

In this paper, we present the two-loop correction to scattering amplitudes in three-dimensional $\mathcal{N}=6$ Chern-Simons matter theory. We use eight-point case as our main example, but the method generalizes to all multiplicities. The integrand is completely fixed by dual conformal symmetry, maximal cuts, constraints from soft-collinear behavior and from vanishing of odd-multiplicity amplitudes. After performing integrations with Higgs regularizations, the integrated results demonstrate that the infrared divergence is again identical to that of ${\cal N}=4$ super Yang-Mills. After subtracting divergences, the finite part is dual conformal invariant, and respects various symmetries; it has uniform transcendentality weight two and exhibits nice analytic structure.

All-Loop Four-Point Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena Amplitudes from Dimensional Reduction of the Amplituhedron

We define a new geometry obtained from the all-loop amplituhedron in ${\cal N}=4$ SYM by reducing its four-dimensional external and loop momenta to three dimensions. Focusing on the simplest four-point case, we provide strong evidence that the canonical form of this ``reduced amplituhedron" gives the all-loop integrand of the ABJM four-point amplitude. In addition to various all-loop cuts manifested by the geometry, we present explicitly new results for the integrand up to five loops, which are much simpler than results in ${\cal N}=4$ SYM. One of the reasons for such all-loop simplifications is that only a very small fraction of the so-called negative geometries survive the dimensional reduction, which corresponds to bipartite graphs. Our results suggest an unexpected relation between four-point amplitudes in these two theories.

Phase diagram of holographic thermal dense QCD matter with rotation

We study the rotation effects of the hot and dense QCD matter in a non-perturbative regime by the gauge/gravity duality. We use the gravitational model that is designated to match the state-of-the-art lattice data on the thermal properties of (2+1)-flavor QCD and predict the location of the critical endpoint and the first-order phase transition line at large baryon chemical potential without rotation. After introducing the angular velocity via a local Lorentz boost, we investigate the thermodynamic quantities for the system under rotation in a self-consistent way. We find that the critical temperature and baryon chemical potential associated with the QCD phase transition decrease as the angular velocity increases. Moreover, some interesting phenomena are observed near the critical endpoint. We then construct the 3-dimensional phase diagram of the QCD matter in terms of temperature, baryon chemical potential, and angular velocity. As a parallel investigation, we also consider the gravitational model of $SU(3)$ pure gluon system, for which the 2-dimensional phase diagram associated with temperature and angular velocity has been predicted. The corresponding thermodynamic quantities with rotation are investigated.

Covariant color-kinematics duality, Hopf algebras and permutohedra

Based on the covariant color-kinematics duality, we investigate combinatorial and algebraic structures underlying their Bern-Carrasco-Johansson (BCJ) numerators of tree-level amplitudes in Yang-Mills-scalar (YMS) theory. The closed-formulae for BCJ numerators of YMS amplitudes and the pure-Yang-Mills (YM) ones exhibit nice quasi-shuffle Hopf algebra structures, and interestingly they can be viewed as summing over boundaries of all dimensions of a combinatorial permutohedron. In particular, the numerator with two scalars and $n{-}2$ gluons contains Fubini number ( $F_{n{-}2}$ ) of terms in one-to-one correspondence with boundaries of a $(n{-}3)$-dimensional permutohedron, and each of them has its own spurious-pole structures and a gauge-invariant numerator (both depending on reference momenta). From such Hopf algebra or permutohedron structure, we derive new recursion relations for the numerators and intriguing "factorization" on each spurious pole/facet of the permutohedron. Similar results hold for general YMS numerators and the pure-YM ones. Finally, with a special choice of reference momenta, our results imply BCJ numerators in a heavy-mass effective field theory with two massive particles and $n{-}2$ gluons/gravitons: we observe highly nontrivial cancellations in the heavy-mass limit, leading to new formulae for the effective numerators which resemble those obtained in recent works.

Quantum chaos, scrambling and operator growth in $T\bar{T}$ deformed SYK models

In this work, we investigate the quantum chaos in various $T\bar{T}$-deformed SYK models with finite $N$, including the SYK$_4$, the supersymmetric SYK$_4$, and the SYK$_2$ models. We numerically study the evolution of the spectral form factor (SFF), the out-of-time ordered correlator (OTOC), and the Krylov complexity. We find that the characteristic evolution of the SFF, OTOC and K-complexity of both the SYK$_4$ and SSYK$_4$ models remains unchanged under the deformation, which implies that the properties of quantum chaos is preserved. We also identify a many-body localization behavior in the deformed SYK$_2$ model.
