Capacity and outage analysis of a dual-hop decode-and-forward relay-aided NOMA scheme

Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is regarded as a candidate radio access technique for the next generation wireless networks because of its manifold spectral gains. A two-phase cooperative relaying strategy (CRS) is proposed in this paper by exploiting the concept of both downlink and uplink NOMA (termed as DU-CNOMA). In the proposed protocol, a transmitter considered as a source transmits a NOMA composite signal consisting of two symbols to the destination and relay during the first phase, following the principle of downlink NOMA. In the second phase, the relay forwards the symbol decoded by successive interference cancellation to the destination, whereas the source transmits a new symbol to the destination in parallel with the relay, following the principle of uplink NOMA. The ergodic sum capacity, outage probability, and outage sum capacity are investigated comprehensively along with analytical derivations, under both perfect and imperfect successive interference cancellation. The performance improvement of the proposed DU-CNOMA over the conventional CRS using NOMA, is proved through analysis and computer simulation. Furthermore, the correctness of the author's analysis is proved through a strong agreement between simulation and analytical results.

BSSSQS: A Blockchain Based Smart and Secured Scheme for Question Sharing in the Smart Education System

Existing education systems are facing a threat of question paper leaking (QPL) in the exam which jeopardizes the quality of education. Therefore, it is high time to think about a more secure and flexible question sharing system which can prevent QPL issue in the future education system. Blockchain enables a way of creating and storing transactions, contracts or anything that requires protection against tampering, accessing etc. This paper presents a new scheme for smart education, by utilizing the concept of blockchain, for question sharing. A two-phase encryption technique for encrypting question paper (QSP) is proposed. In the first phase, QSPs are encrypted using timestamp and in the second phase, previous encrypted QSPs are encrypted again using a timestamp, salt hash and hashes from previous QSPs. These encrypted QSPs are stored in the blockchain along with a smart contract which helps the user to unlock the selected QSP. An algorithm is also proposed for selecting a QSP for the exam which picks a QSP randomly. Moreover, a timestamp based lock is imposed on the scheme so that no one can decrypt the QSP before the allowed time. Finally, security is analyzed by proving different propositions and the superiority of the proposed scheme over existing schemes is proven through a comparative study based on the different features.

Evolutionary Computing Approach to Optimize Superframe Scheduling on Industrial Wireless Sensor Networks

There has been a paradigm shift in the industrial wireless sensor domain caused by the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT is a thriving technology leading the way in short range and fixed wireless sensing. One of the issues in Industrial Wireless Sensor Network-IWSN is finding the optimal solution for minimizing the defect time in superframe scheduling. This paper proposes a method using the evolutionary algorithms approach namely particle swarm optimization (PSO), Orthogonal Learning PSO, genetic algorithms (GA) and modified GA for optimizing the scheduling of superframe. We have also evaluated a contemporary method, deadline monotonic scheduling on the ISA 100.11a. By using this standard as a case study, the presented simulations are object-oriented based, with numerous variations in the number of timeslots and wireless sensor nodes. The simulation results show that the use of GA and modified GA can provide better performance for idle and missed deadlines. A comprehensive and detailed performance evaluation is given in the paper.

Blockchain based secure data handover scheme in non-orthogonal multiple access

Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) with successive interference cancellation receiver is considered as one of the most potent multiple access techniques to be adopted in future wireless communication networks. Data security in the NOMA transmission scheme is on much attention drawing issue. Blockchain is a distributed peer-to-peer network enables a way of protecting information from unauthorized access, tempering etc. By utilizing encryption techniques of blockchain, a secured data communication scheme using blockchain in NOMA is proposed in this paper. A two-phase encryption technique with key generation using different parameter is proposed. In the first-phase data is encrypted by imposing users' public key and in the second phase, a private key of the base station (BS) is engaged for encryption. Finally, the superiority of the proposed scheme over existing scheme is proven through a comparative study based on the different features.

Device-to-Device Communication Facilitating Full-Duplex Cooperative Relaying Using Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access

This letter presents a device-to-device (D2D) enabling cellular full-duplex (FD) cooperative protocol using non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), where an FD relay assists in relaying NOMA far user's signal and transmits a D2D receiver's signal simultaneously. The ergodic capacity, outage probability, and diversity order of the proposed protocol are theoretically investigated under the realistic assumption of imperfect self and known interference cancellation. The Outcome of the investigation demonstrates the performance gain of the suggested protocol over conventional FD cooperative NOMA system.

Performance Enhancement of Downlink NOMA by Combination with GSSK

In non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), cell-edge users experience significantly low spectral density because only some part of the total transmit power is allocated. This leads to low spectral efficiency for the paired users in NOMA. To overcome this problem, we propose an integration of NOMA and generalized space shift keying (GSSK), called NOMA-GSSK, to improve the spectral efficiency by exploiting the spatial domain. Spectral and energy efficiency, bit error rate (BER), and computational complexity of the proposed system were analyzed and compared to those of multiple-input multiple-output NOMA (MIMO-NOMA). It is shown that NOMA-GSSK outperforms MIMO-NOMA.
