On amplified graph C*-algebras as cores of Cuntz-Krieger algebras

Given a finite directed acyclic graph $R$, we construct from it two graphs $E_R$ and $F_R$, one by adding a loop at every vertex of $R$ and one by replacing every arrow of $R$ by countably infinitely many arrows. We show that the graph C*-algebra $C^*(F_R)$ is isomorphic to the AF core of $C^*(E_R)$. Examples include C*-algebras of a quantum flag manifolds and quantum teardrops. We discuss in detail the quantum Grassmannian $Gr_q(2,4)$ and use our description as AF core to study its CW-structure.

On split exact sequences and KK-equivalences of amplified graph C*-algebras

We give a general methodology for constructing split exact sequences of amplified graph C*-algebras with sinks. This in turn allows us to construct explicit KK-equivalences with $\mathbb{C}^N$ for a large class of C*-algebras, including the quantum Grassmannian $\mathrm{Gr}_q(2,4)$. We discuss compatibility with known (quantum) CW-constructions and give an explicit KK-equivalence between the classical and quantum projective spaces $\mathbb{C}P^1$ and $\mathbb{C}P_q^1$.

Equivariant isomorphism of Quantum Lens Spaces of low dimension

The quantum lens spaces form a natural and well-studied class of noncommutative spaces which can be subjected to classification using algebraic invariants by drawing on the fully developed classification theory of unital graph $C^*$-algebras. We introduce the problem of deciding when two quantum lens spaces are equivariantly isomorphic, and solve it in certain basic cases. As opposed to classification up to isomorphism, we can not appeal to a complete general classification theory in the equivariant case, but by combining existing partial results with an ad hoc analysis we can solve the case with dimension 3 completely, and the case with dimension 5 in the prime case. Our results can be formulated directly in terms of the parameters defining the quantum lens spaces, and here occasionally take on a rather complicated form which convinces us that there is a deep underlying explanation for our findings. We complement the fully established partial results with computer experiments that may indicate the way forward.

Split extensions and KK-equivalences for quantum projective spaces

We study the noncommutative topology of the $C^*$-algebras $C(\mathbb{C}P_q^{n})$ of the quantum projective spaces within the framework of Kasparov's bivariant K-theory. In particular, we construct an explicit KK-equivalence with the commutative algebra $\mathbb{C}^{n+1}$. Our construction relies on showing that the extension of $C^*$-algebras relating two quantum projective spaces of successive dimensions admits a splitting, which we can describe explicitly using graph algebra techniques.

On the classification and description of quantum lens spaces as graph algebras

We investigate quantum lens spaces, $C(L_q^{2n+1}(r;\underline{m}))$, introduced by Brzeziński-Szymański as graph $C^*$-algebras. We give a new description of $C(L_q^{2n+1}(r;\underline{m}))$ as graph $C^*$-algebras amending an error in the original paper by Brzeziński-Szymański. Furthermore, for $n\leq 3$, we give a number-theoretic invariant, when all but one weight are coprime to the order of the acting group $r$. This builds upon the work of Eilers, Restorff, Ruiz and Sørensen.

A quantum twistor bundle

We investigate a quantum twistor bundle constructed as a $U(1)$-quotient of the quantum instanton bundle of Bonechi, Ciccoli and Tarlini. It is an example of a noncommutative bundle fulfilling conditions of the purely algebraic framework proposed by Brzeziński and Szymański. We provide a detailed description of the corresponding $C^*$-algebra of `continuous functions' on its noncommutative total space.

A vector space basis of the quantum symplectic sphere

We present a candidate of a vector space basis for the algebra $\mathcal{O}(S_q^{4n-1})$ of the quantum symplectic sphere for every $n\geq 1$. The algebra $\mathcal{O}(S_q^{4n-1})$ is defined as a certain subalgebra of the quantum symplectic group $\mathcal{O}(SP_q(2n))$. A non-trivial application of the Diamond Lemma is used to construct the vector space basis and the conjecture is supported by computer experiments for $n=1,2,...,8$.

The $C^*$-algebra of the quantum symplectic sphere

The faithful irreducible $*$-representations of the $C^*$-algebra of the quantum symplectic sphere $S_q^{4n-1}, n\geq 2$, have been investigated by D'Andrea and Landi. They proved that the first $n-1$ generators are all zero inside $C^*(S_q^{4n-1})$, for $n\geq 2$. The result is a generalisation of the case where $n=2$, which was shown by Mikkelsen and Szymański. We will show that $C^*(S_q^{4n-1}), n\geq 2$ is isomorphic to a graph $C^*$-algebra. From here it follows that $C^*(S_q^{4n-1})$ is isomorphic to the quantum $(2(n+1)-1)$-sphere by Vaksman and Soibelman.

The Quantum Twistor Bundle

We investigate the quantum twistor bundle constructed as a $U(1)$-quotient of the quantum instanton bundle of Bonechi, Ciccoli and Tarlini. It is an example of a locally trivial noncommutative bundle fulfilling conditions of the framework recently proposed by Brzeziński and Szymański. In particular, we give a detailed description of the corresponding $C^*$-algebra of 'continuous functions' on its noncommutative total space. Furthermore, we analyse a different construction of a quantum instanton bundle due to Landi, Pagani and Reina, find a basis of its polynomial algebra and discover an intriguing and unexpected feature of its enveloping $C^*$-algebra.

On Conjugacy of Subalgebras of Graph C*-Algebras

The problem of inner vs outer conjugacy of subalgebras of certain graph C*-algebras is investigated. For a large class of finite graphs E, we show that whenever $α$ is a vertex-fixing quasi-free automorphism of the corresponding graph C*-algebra C*(E) such that α(\D_E)\neq\D_E, where \D_E is the canonical MASA in C*(E), then α(\D_E)\neq w\D_E w^* for all unitaries w\in C*(E). That is, the two MASAs \D_E and α(\D_E) of C*(E) are outer but not inner conjugate. Passing to an isomorphic C*-algebra by changing the underlying graph makes this result applicable to certain non quasi-free automorphisms as well. For the Cuntz algebras O_n, we find a criterion which guarantees that a polynomial automorphism moves the canonical UHF subalgebra to a non-inner conjugate UHF subalgebra. The criterion is phrased in terms of rescaling of trace on diagonal projections.
