GAN-Diff : Coupling Pretrained WGAN-GP Features with Conditional Diffusion U-Nets

Generative adversarial networks (GANs) can provide efficient image generation, while diffusion models offer high-quality image restoration but require iterative sampling. This paper presents a hybrid GAN-guided diffusion framework that uses a pretrained Wasserstein GAN with gradient penalty (WGAN-GP) as a feature prior for conditional diffusion-based image restoration. Intermediate features from the frozen WGAN-GP generator are incorporated into a diffusion U-Net through cross-attention and remain fixed during the DDIM sampling process. The framework is evaluated on two restoration tasks, Gaussian denoising and 2Xsuper-resolution, using CelebA face images. During development, several sources of instability were identified and addressed, including adversarial learning-rate imbalance, inappropriate diffusion initialization, excessive corruption, and insufficient parameter averaging. The resulting framework consistently improves the quality of both degraded and low-resolution images. In particular, it improves denoising performance by 4.40 dB in PSNR and super-resolution performance by 3.70 dB over their respective input baselines. These results demonstrate the potential of a frozen GAN feature prior to guide diffusion models toward stable and effective image restoration.

An Improved Generative Adversarial Network for Micro-Resistivity Imaging Logging Restoration

An improved GAN-based imaging logging image restoration method is presented in this paper for solving the problem of partially missing micro-resistivity imaging logging images. The method uses FCN as the generative network infrastructure and adds a depth-separable convolutional residual block to learn and retain more effective pixel and semantic information; an Inception module is added to increase the multi-scale perceptual field of the network and reduce the number of parameters in the network; and a multi-scale feature extraction module and a spatial attention residual block are added to combine the channel attention. The multi-scale module adds a multi-scale feature extraction module and a spatial attention residual block, which combine the channel attention mechanism and the residual block to achieve multi-scale feature extraction. The global discriminative network and the local discriminative network are designed to gradually improve the content and semantic structure coherence between the restored parts and the whole image by playing off each other and the generative network. According to the experimental results, the average structural similarity measure of the five sets of imaged logging images with different sizes of missing regions in the test set is 0.903, which is an improvement of about 0.3 compared with other similar methods. It is shown that the method in this study can be used for the restoration of micro-resistivity imaging log images with good improvement in semantic structural coherence and texture details, thus providing a new deep learning method to ensure the smooth advancement of the subsequent interpretation of micro-resistivity imaging log images.

Enhancing BiGRU with a KAN Block for Legal Document Classification and Summarization

This study introduces a novel architecture of KAN-based BiGRU model for the task of classification and summarization of legal documents in a low-resource multilingual setup. In order to tackle problems associated with domain language, the usage of different languages, long dependencies within context, and class imbalance, we employ the dataset composed of legal documents from Bangladesh and taken from Manupatra, which include Bengali, English, and transliterated Bengali languages. Our classification task involves BiGRU model, along with Kolmogorov-Arnold Network (KAN) module, while the summarization part utilizes attention-based GRU, combined with a KAN model head. Classification model yields 67.96% of accuracy and 0.65 F1 score; while ROUGE-1, ROUGE-2, and ROUGE-L measures for summarization yield 0.38, 0.23, and 0.31 F1 scores, correspondingly. Ablation study shows that the use of KAN increases classification accuracy from 57.34% to 67.96%. Moreover, our proposed technique is compared to several baselines, including classical ML algorithms and pretrained language models.

MultiSoc-4D: A Benchmark for Diagnosing Instruction-Induced Label Collapse in Closed-Set LLM Annotation of Bengali Social Media

Annotation automation via Large Language Models (LLMs) is the core approach for scaling NLP datasets; however, LLM behavior with respect to closed-set instructions in low-resource languages has not been well studied. We present MultiSoc-4D, a Bengali social media dataset benchmark, which contains 58K+ social media comments from six sources annotated along four dimensions: category, sentiment, hate speech, and sarcasm. By employing a structured pipeline where ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Grok individually annotate separate partitions, while sharing a common validation set of 20%, we diagnose LLM behavior systematically. We discover a prevalent phenomenon called "instruction-induced label collapse", wherein LLMs show a systematic preference towards fallback labels (Other, Neutral, No), leading to high agreement rates but under-detection of minority categories. For example, we find that LLMs failed to detect 79% and 75% of instances with hateful and sarcastic content compared to a human-calibrated reference. Furthermore, we prove that it represents a "label agreement illusion", statistically validated via almost null Fleiss' Kappa ($κ\approx -0.001$) on sarcasm detection. Across 40+ LLMs, we benchmark this annotation bias propagation within the training pipeline, regardless of architectural differences. We release MultiSoc-4D as a diagnostic benchmark for annotation biases in Bengali NLP.

Analysis of the action-based constrained adiabatic particle production model

The theory of gravitationally induced adiabatic particle production offers an alternative approach to exploring the accelerating expansion of the universe. However, existing models generally lack a well-defined field-action formulation. This article aims to establish a suitable Lagrangian formulation consistent with the framework of particle creation. A general form of action is considered for this purpose. The corresponding field equations in comparison with those commonly used in the particle creation formalism leads to some specific form of the Lagrangian, which further constrains the form of the particle creation models. We perform the phase space stability analysis of the constrained model and compared with observational data. Our result shows that the constrained model is capable of explaining the cosmic evolution from the radiation to the late-time cosmic acceleration if the model parameter lies within the range $1/3 < β< 2/3$.

Signatures of emergent surface states across a displacive topological phase transition in Bi$_4$I$_4$

Topological phase transitions involving crystalline symmetry breaking provide a fertile ground to explore the interplay between symmetry, topology, and emergent quantum phenomena. Recently discovered quasi-one-dimensional topological material, Bi$_4$I$_4$, has been predicted to host topologically non-trivial gapless surfaces at high temperature, which undergo a finite temperature phase transition to a low temperature gapped phase. Here we present experimental signatures of this room temperature phase transition from a high-temperature $β$-phase with a surface state to a gapped $α$-phase hosting hinge states. Using real-space current mapping and resistance fluctuation spectroscopy, we identify signatures of a displacive topological phase transition mediated by a first-order thermodynamic structural change. Near the emergence of $β$-phase, we observe pronounced telegraphic noise, indicating fluctuating phase domains with topological surface states. The spatially resolved current map reveals electron transport via the gapless surface states in the $β$-phase, which vanishes upon transitioning to the $α$-phase with localized conduction channels (or hinge modes). Our experimental results, supported by first principles estimates and effective theory of a topological displacive phase transition, establish Bi$_4$I$_4$ as a candidate material showing intricate interplay of classical thermodynamic phase transitions with topological quantum phenomena.

Non-renormalization of the fractional quantum Hall conductivity by interactions

We investigate the theory of the fractional quantum Hall effect (QHE) proposed a long time ago by Lopez and Fradkin \cite{Fradkin1991chern} to describe the principal Jain series. The magnetic fluxes of the statistical gauge field attached to electrons remain at rest in the reference frame moving together with the electron liquid. In the laboratory reference frame the electric field of the statistical gauge field forms and screens the external electric field. The fractional QHE conductivity appears as a consequence of this screening already on the mean field theory level. We consider a relativistic extension of the model, and propose an alternative description of the fractional QHE based on macroscopic motion of the electron liquid within the Zubarev statistical operator approach. It is this macroscopic motion of electrons which in this pattern gives rise to the fractional QHE. Within this approach we propose the proof to all orders of perturbation theory that the interaction corrections cannot change the above mentioned mean field theory result for the QHE conductivity.

A consistent approach to the path integral formalism of quantum mechanics based on the maximum length uncertainty

We have developed a proper path integral formalism consistent with the deformed version of the quantum mechanics which contains a maximum observable length scale at the order of the Cosmological particle horizon, existing in cosmology. First, we have presented the modifications to the classical mechanics which shows non-minimal effects on the equation of motion of a particle. Next, we have provided representation of the deformed quantum mechanical algebra. With this algebra in hand, we have calculated the general form of the path integral propagator in this deformed background. Finally, as a most simple case, we have built up the explicit form of the free particle propagator. The modifications to the free particle propagator shows some non-trivial effects in this case, which can have some important significance.

Even parity potential for spacetimes with Gaussian matter source and its associated QNM spectra

We have obtained the general form of even mode potential function for the gravitational perturbation of a static spherically symmetric spacetime. Considering the minimal-spread Gaussian matter source, parameterized by a smearing length scale Θ, the associated quasinormal mode (QNM) frequencies are computed numerically using the well known WKB formula. A comparative study on the accuracy of the results based on different approximation orders of the WKB formula indicates that the smearing parameter Θ has an upper bound, beyond which the spectra of odd and even modes deviate from their usual isospectral nature.

Quasinormal mode spectra for odd parity perturbations in spacetimes with smeared matter sources

We have found the Quasi Normal Mode (QNM) frequencies of a class of static spherically symmetric spacetimes having a {\it {smeared}} matter distribution, parameterized by $Θ$ - an inherent length scale. Here our main focus is on the QNMs for the odd parity perturbation in this background geometry. The results presented here for diffused mass distribution reveal significant changes in the QNM spectrum. This could be relevant for future generation (cosmological) observations, specifically to distinguish the signals of GW from a non-singular source in contrast to a singular geometry. We also provide numerical estimates for the $Θ$-corrected QNM spectrum applicable to typical globular cluster like spherical galaxies having a Gaussian spread in their mass distribution. We find that the $Θ$-correction to the GW signal due to smeared distribution is accessible to present day observational precision.

AdS-CFT Correspondence in Noncommutative background, related thermodynamics and Holographic Superconductor in Magnetic Field

In this work, we formulate a Non-Commutative (NC) extension of AdS-CFT correspondence that is manifested in the modification of behavior of a holographic superconductor. The noncommutativity is introduced in the model through the NC corrected AdS charged black hole metric developed by Nicolini, Smailagic and Spallucci. First of all we discuss thermodynamic properties of this black hole in Euclidean formalism. In particular, we compute trace of the boundary energy-momentum tensor which, as expected, is non-zero due to the NC scale introduced in the model. Our findings indicate that the non-commutative effects tend to work against the black hole hair formation. This, in turn, has an adverse effect on the holographic superconductor by making the superconducting phase more fragile. This is reflected in the reduced value of the critical magnetic field and critical temperature. Finally, we comment on a qualitative agreement between our (holographic superconductor) result and that obtained for a conventional superconductor in NC space in a purely condensed matter scenario. In both cases noncommutativity tends to oppose the superconducting phase.

Gravitationally influenced particle creation models and late-time cosmic acceleration

In this work we focus on the gravitationally influenced adiabatic particle creation process, a mechanism that does not need any dark energy or modified gravity models to explain the current accelerating phase of the universe. Introducing some particle creation models that generalize some previous models in the literature, we constrain the cosmological scenarios using the latest compilation of the Type Ia Supernovae data only, the first indicator of the accelerating universe. Aside from the observational constraints on the models, we examine the models using two model independent diagnoses, namely the cosmography and $Om$. Further, we establish the general conditions to test the thermodynamic viabilities of any particle creation model. Our analysis shows that at late-time, the models have close resemblance to that of the $Λ$CDM cosmology, and the models always satisfy the generalized second law of thermodynamics under certain conditions.

Particle on a Torus Knot: Constrained Dynamics and Semi-Classical Quantization in a Magnetic Field

Kinematics and dynamics of a particle moving on a torus knot poses an interesting problem as a constrained system. In the first part of the paper we have derived the modified symplectic structure or Dirac brackets of the above model in Dirac's Hamiltonian framework, both in toroidal and Cartesian coordinate systems. This algebra has been used to study the dynamics, in particular small fluctuations in motion around a specific torus. The spatial symmetries of the system have also been studied. In the second part of the paper we have considered the quantum theory of a charge moving in a torus knot in the presence of a uniform magnetic field along the axis of the torus in a semiclassical quantization framework. We exploit the Einstein - Brillouin - Keller (EBK) scheme of quantization that is appropriate for multidimensional systems. Embedding of the knot on a specific torus is inherently two dimensional that gives rise to two quantization conditions. This shows that although the system, after imposing the knot condition reduces to a one dimensional system, even then it has manifest non-planar features which shows up again in the study of fractional angular momentum. Finally we compare the results obtained from EBK (multi-dimensional) and Bohr-Sommerfeld (single dimensional) schemes. The energy levels and fractional spin depend on the torus knot parameters that specifies its non-planar features. Interestingly, we show that there can be non-planar corrections to the planar anyon-like fractional spin.

Scalar field cosmology modified by the Generalized Uncertainty Principle

We consider quintessence scalar field cosmology in which the Lagrangian of the scalar field is modified by the Generalized Uncertainty Principle. We show that the perturbation terms which arise from the deformed algebra are equivalent with the existence of a second scalar field, where the two fields interact in the kinetic part. Moreover, we consider a spatially flat Friedmann-Lema\^ıtre-Robertson-Walker spacetime (FLRW), and we derive the gravitational field equations. We show that the modified equation of state parameter $w_{GUP}$ can cross the phantom divide line; that is $w_{GUP}<-1$. Furthermore, we derive the field equations in the dimensionless parameters, the dynamical system which arises is a singular perturbation system in which we study the existence of the fixed points in the slow manifold. Finally, we perform numerical simulations for some well known models and we show that for these models with the specific initial conditions, the parameter $w_{GUP}$ crosses the phantom barrier.

The Path Integral Quantization corresponding to the Deformed Heisenberg Algebra

In this paper, the deformation of the Heisenberg algebra, consistent with both the generalized uncertainty principle and doubly special relativity, has been analyzed. It has been observed that, though this algebra can give rise to fractional derivative terms in the corresponding quantum mechanical Hamiltonian, a formal meaning can be given to them by using the theory of harmonic extensions of function. Depending on this argument, the expression of the propagator of the path integral corresponding to the deformed Heisenberg algebra, has been obtained. In particular, the consistent expression of the one dimensional free particle propagator has been evaluated explicitly. With this propagator in hand, it has been shown that, even in free particle case, normal generalized uncertainty principle and doubly special relativity shows very much different result.

Noncommutative Extension of AdS-CFT and Holographic Superconductors

In this Letter, we consider a Non-Commutative (NC) extension of AdS-CFT correspondence and its effects on holographic superconductors. NC corrections are incorporated via the NC generalization of Schwarzschild black hole metric in AdS with the probe limit. We study NC effects on the relations connecting the charge density and the critical temperature of the Holographic Superconductors. Furthermore, condensation operator of the superconductor has been analyzed. Our results suggest that generically, NC effects increase the critical temperature of the holographic superconductor.

Conformal Invariance in noncommutative geometry and mutually interacting Snyder Particles

A system of relativistic Snyder particles with mutual two-body interaction that lives in a Non-Commutative Snyder geometry is studied. The underlying novel symplectic structure is a coupled and extended version of (single particle) Snyder algebra. In a recent work by Casalbuoni and Gomis, Phys.Rev. D90, 026001 (2014), a system of interacting conventional particles (in commutative spacetime) was studied with special emphasis on it's Conformal Invariance. Proceeding along the same lines we have shown that our interacting Snyder particle model is also conformally invariant. Moreover, the conformal Killing vectors have been constructed. Our main emphasis is on the Hamiltonian analysis of the conformal symmetry generators. We demonstrate that the Lorentz algebra remains undeformed but validity of the full conformal algebra requires further restrictions.

Effects of a Maximal Energy Scale in Thermodynamics for Photon Gas and Construction of Path Integral

In this article, we discuss some well-known theoretical models where an observer-independent energy scale or a length scale is present. The presence of this invariant scale necessarily deforms the Lorentz symmetry. We study different aspects and features of such theories about how modifications arise due to this cutoff scale. First we study the formulation of energy-momentum tensor for a perfect fluid in doubly special relativity (DSR), where an energy scale is present. Then we go on to study modifications in thermodynamic properties of photon gas in DSR. Finally we discuss some models with generalized uncertainty principle (GUP).
