Reading Weakly, Acting Strongly: A Static Parity Horizon and its Dynamical Bypass in the Monitored Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick Model

We study the broken-symmetry phase of the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick (LMG) model, whose two lowest states form a near-degenerate parity doublet split by tunnelling. We show that the same instanton action S_inst that sets the doublet splitting also controls how much parity information a static J_z magnetisation readout can extract. Although J_z measures magnetisation rather than parity - and so distinguishes the two wells easily while remaining almost blind to their relative sign - WKB barrier arguments together with exact diagonalisation show that the spectral gap, the total-variation distance, and the nonlinear distinguishability measures (Jensen-Shannon divergence and Chernoff information) share a single instanton exponent, rather than the doubled exponent a naive small-deviation expansion in the lobes would suggest. Exact diagonalisation up to N = 4500 supports a common leading exponent for all four quantities, with fitted values within a few percent of the WKB instanton value in the largest reliable windows. The same coupling acts strongly inside the doublet: its off-diagonal element grows as |J_01| -> N m_*/2, so the bath can disturb the parity label far more strongly than it can read it from a frozen histogram. We call this separation the static parity horizon - a benchmark for the idealised static J_z channel, not a universal bound on time-resolved monitoring. Restoring the full monitored dynamics, continuous-monitoring simulations (1.48 million full-LMG trajectories with matched QND controls across 77 independent settings) show that a time-resolved homodyne record extracts parity information hidden from the single-shot histogram, over a finite window of system sizes organised by the ratio xi = omega_01/Gamma_01 of coherent doublet rotation to measurement-induced dephasing, and closing again under strong measurement.

Which Coherence Decoheres? Basis-Dependent Decoherence Rates in Symmetry-Broken Collective Spin Systems

In the ordered phase of a $\mathbb{Z}_2$-symmetric collective spin system, two natural bases -- localised pointer states $\{|P\rangle,|R\rangle\}$ and energy eigenstates $\{|E_0\rangle,|E_1\rangle\}$ -- yield Lindblad dephasing rates that differ by a factor approaching $2$ as $N\to\infty$ and reaching $2.42$ near the quantum-critical crossover. The discrepancy has a single algebraic origin: parity forces $\langle E_i|\hat{J}_z|E_i\rangle=0$ exactly, eliminating the cross-term that doubles the localised-state rate. Two distinct protection factors are identified: $η_{\rm MF}=(Nm_*)^2/(2G_{01})\approx2.42$, where $m_*$ is the order parameter and $G_{01}=\frac{1}{2}(\langle E_0|\hat{J}_z^2|E_0\rangle+\langle E_1|\hat{J}_z^2|E_1\rangle)$ (advantage over the classical mean-field estimate), and $η_{\rm exact}=(G_{01}+J_{01}^2)/G_{01}\approx1.86$, where $J_{01}=\langle E_0|\hat{J}_z|E_1\rangle$ (exact physical ratio of pointer-state to eigenstate decay rate). In the thermodynamic limit the secular approximation fails, the doublet degenerates, and both rates converge. The three-regime structure is demonstrated in the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model via exact diagonalisation, and the algebraic origin of the discrepancy is established via the $\mathbb{Z}_2$ parity of the Lindblad jump operator.

Classically Forbidden Signatures of Quantum Coherence in the Mesoscopic Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick Model

We derive strict quantitative conditions under which a collective quantum system of N~370 spins exhibits classically forbidden temporal correlations in a spinor Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC). The Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick (LMG) model near its Z_2-breaking quantum critical point supports a mesoscopic superposition a|P> + b|R> of two macroscopic ordered phases (|P>: m_z ~ +m_*; |R>: m_z ~ -m_*) at the Goldilocks crossover N ~ N_c, where the tunnel splitting equals k_B T and macroscopic susceptibility chi ~ N coexists with finite quantum coherence. We establish two quantum-discriminating predictions. P4 (Landau-Zener crossover, proposed discriminator): quantum tunnelling drives P_error -> 0 exponentially with quench time, while the classically non-ergodic system remains kinetically frozen at P_error -> 1 - a parametrically large, computable separation that rests on a specific kinetic foil. P5 (Leggett--Garg inequality violation, strictly model-independent): K_3 > 1 is forbidden by macrorealism for all classical models satisfying non-invasive measurability. A five-level Lindblad simulation yields K_3 ~ 1.32 and dephasing threshold gamma_phi < 0.289 s^{-1} at the BEC target (gamma_phi = 0.05 s^{-1}, N = 370, Gamma/J = 0.95) - a margin of 8.8x above the optimal measurement interval, well within current experimental reach. The threshold has a precise physical origin in the emergent collective Z_2 symmetry: exact parity eliminates the dominant dephasing cross-term and renders the LGI correlator immune to T_1 population mixing without requiring ground-state preparation (2.35x improvement over the naive mean-field estimate); constructive dynamical phase alignment of higher odd-parity states at the benchmark parameters contributes a further 2.47x. All results are reproducible from the provided self-tested Python code.

Radion in Multibrane World

The radion dynamics related to the presence of moving branes with both positive or negative tensions is studied in the linearized approximation. The radion effective Lagrangian is computed for a compact system with three branes and in particular we examine the decompactification limit when one brane is sent to infinity. In the non-compact case we calculate the coupling of the gravitational modes (graviton, dilaton and radion) to matter on the branes. The character of gravity on the two branes for all possible combinations of brane tensions is also discussed. It turns out that one can have a normalizable dilaton mode even in the non-compact case. Finally, we speculate on the role of moving branes as a possible source of radion emission.

Multi-Localization in Multi-Brane Worlds

We study bulk fields in various multi-brane models with localized gravity. In the case of spin 0, 1/2 and 3/2 fields, the non-trivial background geometry itself can induce (multi-) localization of the zero modes along the extra dimension. The addition of appropriate mass terms controls the strength or/and the position of this localization and can induce (multi-) localization of spin 1 fields as well. We show that multi-brane models may also give rise to anomalously light KK modes which are also localized. The possibility of multi-localization in the context of supersymmetric brane world models in AdS_5 spacetime is also discussed.

Multigravity in six dimensions: Generating bounces with flat positive tension branes

We present a generalization of the five dimensional multigravity models to six dimensions. The key characteristic of these constructions is that that we obtain solutions which do not have any negative tension branes while at the same time the branes are kept flat. This is due to the fact that in six dimensions the internal space is not trivial and its curvature allows bounce configurations with the above feature. These constructions give for the first time a theoretically and phenomenologically viable realization of multigravity.

A new bigravity model with exclusively positive branes

We propose a new ``bigravity'' model with two positive tension AdS_4 branes in AdS_5 bulk and no negative tension branes. The bounce of the ``warp'' factor mimics the effect of a negative brane and thus gives rise to an anomalously light graviton KK mode. This configuration satisfies the weak energy condition and has no ghost state. In addition, the extra polarization states of the massive graviton practically decouple and thus it does not contradict to Einsteinian gravity. However, the model has certain phenomenological difficulties associated with the presence of a negative cosmological constant on the branes.

Bulk Fermions in Multi-Brane Worlds

We study bulk fermion fields in various multi-brane models with localized gravity. The chiral zero mode that these models support can be identified as a right-handed sterile neutrino. In this case small neutrino Dirac masses can naturally appear due to a localization of the bulk fermion zero mode wavefunction, in an analogous way to graviton, without invoking the see-saw mechanism. The conditions and the options for localization are discussed in detail. It is shown that, considering a well motivated five dimensional mass term, the localization behaviour of this mode can resemble the graviton's at least in a region of the parameter space. As a result, the ''+-+'', ''++'' models can support, in addition to the ultralight graviton KK state, an ultralight localized and strongly coupled bulk fermion KK mode. We find that there are severe constraints on the parameter space of ''+-+'' and ''++'' models if the neutrino properties resulting from this light fermion state are to be reasonable. Furthermore, in the case that also the Bigravity scenario is realized the above special KK mode can induce too large mixing between the neutrino and the KK tower sterile modes restricting even more the allowed parameter space.

The m->0 limit for massive graviton in dS_4 and AdS_4. How to circumvent the van Dam-Veltman-Zakharov discontinuity

We show that, by considering physics in dS_4 or AdS_4 spacetime, one can circumvent the van Dam - Veltman - Zakharov theorem which requires that the extra polarization states of a massive graviton do not decouple in the massless limit. It is shown that the smoothness of the m->0 limit is ensured if the H (``Hubble'') parameter, associated with the horizon of the dS_4 or AdS_4 space, tends to zero slower than the mass of the graviton m.

"+-+" Brane Model Phenomenology

We explore the phenomenology of the recently proposed "+-+" brane model which has a characteristic anomalously light first Kaluza-Klein mode. We consider the processes e^+ e^- to mu^+ mu^- and the Kaluza-Klein production e^+ e^- to gamma KK giving missing visible energy. These in combination with the latest Cavendish experiments place severe bounds on the parameter space of the model. We also discuss how forthcoming experiments can test the model for ``natural'' range of the parameters.

Multi-Brane Worlds and modification of gravity at large scales

We discuss the implications of multi-brane constructions involving combinations of positive and negative tension brane and show how anomalously light KK states emerge when negative tension ''-'' branes are sandwiched between ''+'' branes. We present a detailed study of a ''+--+'' brane assignment which interpolates between two models that have been previously proposed in which gravity is modified at large scales due to the anomalously light states. We show that it has the peculiar characteristic that gravity changes from four dimensional (4D) to 5D at large distances and returns to 4D at even larger scales. We also consider a crystalline universe which leads to a similar structure for gravity. The problems associated with intermediate negative tension branes are discussed and a possible resolution suggested.
